Bukan Cinta Biasa...

Posted by Rabbit

Begitu banyak cerita,
Ada suka ada duka,
Cinta yang ingin ku tulis,
Bukanlah cinta biasa
Dua keyakinan beza,
Masalah pun tak sama,
Ku tak ingin dia ragu,
Mengapa mereka slalu bertanya,
Cintaku bukan di atas kertas,
Cintaku getaran yang sama,
Tak perlu di paksa,
Tak perlu di cari,
Kerna ku yakin da jawabnya,
Andaiku bisa merubah semua,
Hingga tiada orang terluka,
Tapi tak mungkin ,
Ku tak berdaya,
Hanya yakin menunggu jawabnya....
Janji terikat setia,
Masa merubah segala,
Mungkin dia kan berlalu,
Ku tak mahu mereka tertawa,
Diriku hanya insan biasa,
Miliki naluri yang sama,
Tak ingin berpaling,
Tak ingin berganti,
Jiwa ku sering saja berkata
Andai ku mampu ulang semula,
Ku pasti tiada yang curiga
Kasih kau hadir
Tiada terduga
Hanya yakin menunggu jawapan

P.S Memang merdu lagu ini~~ ^^

No work for a biotechnologist or scientist?

Posted by Rabbit

Hey all.. sorry for the real dusty blog.. has been quite a time since i last updated. Anyway i came across this feedbacks from a person on the job availabilities for a biotechnologist.

Below is what basically she sums up on the biotechnology field.

By Aline Cecylia L (Spain)

Hi All, I guess i have the luxury of calling myself both a molecular biologist and biotechnologist and i would like to share something with you all.I did my bacherol degree in Tanzania and we were the first intake for Bsc.Molecular biology and biotechnology.we were only 22 students,14 males,8 females!!..We suffered the same problems you are facing, there was no or little exposure on biotech, and we wondered where we will get hired. But at the end i believe we begun to think positivl and it worked.See,you have to look at it from another angle, say, what is biotech?broadly you can say is the application of molecular techniques to a discipline,e.g pharmaceutical biotech = application of of biotech to pharmacy, fermentation biotech(fermentation),angricultural biotech(agriculture),food industries...the point here is,these disciplines were there before biotech.Biotech is modern,it modernise these disciplines.and because of this it takes time to gain the popularity biotech deserve.Back to my story,I got a job as a molecular biologist in health research center working on malaria, several of my classmate also got jobs in research centers(and there are very few research centers),3 went directly for masters, in short ,in a country where there is a little or no exposure of biotech,we got JOBS!!.Here is how i see it,WE BRING SOMETHING EXTRA UNIQUE to the hiring table,we look at things from molecular level.a drug making company can hire a pharmacy graduate but, they hire a biotech student(no offense to pharmacists)..lets not talk why..but u know!!,fermentation/brewery can hire microbilogist but they hire a biotechnologist..Heck!!we can genetic rec/modify the microorganism u use for fermeting...blah blah...again,the point is WE BRING SOMETHING EXTRA!!SOMETHING NEW!!..the jobs are there my friends, whether its in researches,industries..or forensics!!So do not worry my friends..we have been there,we are still there..but there is a light at the end of the test tube!!My Msc(biotechnological engineering) and working title for my PhD is PhD(Molecular Modelling)..i also did few cert. courses in forensics. My advice, get well versed in biotech, and where u can apply it...and the job are there for you..just have confidence!!

Phew!!!..........................its a long post!!

So for those of you who doesn't know what is all biotechnology about, maybe this will enlighten u all =P
P.S : In other words, i am unique too~~ *wink wink*

Roadtrip & PC fair

Posted by Rabbit

Went for a supposed-to-be one day roadtrip in Penang. Woke up about 8.3o am.. went to a friend's house to meet and started our roadtrip at 9.30 am. So happy was i don't have to be the driver of the day. Hop into a cute kancil and set we went. =P The actual plan was to visit the Tropical Spice Garden, Butterfly Farm, Fort Cornwallis and proceed to the famous mee soto at Fort Cornwallis.

At first was very "semangat" to accomplish all the plans, however.... after visiting the Tropical Spice Garden, we went to CTY Aquarium to look at pets and fishes instead as the weather was too hot. (CTY Aquarium got aircon) lolz. Mind u that at that time the Butterfly farm plan was already cancelled. Haha.. After that we were supposed to go to Fort Cornwallis but Miss Abby said we'll be barbeque char siu if we were to go there since the sun was scorching hot. So we headed to Gurney Plaza and catch a movie instead.. LoLz

Below are some of the pictures taken :

Saturday

Went to PC fair.. it was really very very pack.. the ppl there was like pushing and cramming.. even when we're walking, the distance between one another was like chest to chest and butt to butt so near.. LoLz

Bought myself a Belkin's wireless router, a 8 gb pendrive, a cute mouse, a Pendrive brand portable harddisk "Sense" and also got myself a tiny free gift.. a micro-sd card reader i think.. Total damage for the day was about RM500.

Pictures below...

The pendrive sense 320gb portable harddisk glossy surface really makes u "sense" it and arouse ur "senses". It's just elegantly beautiful... lolx

Sunday~~!!

Hey to all my beloved readers.. Sorry for the extremely late entry.. Was quite busy/hectic for the past 2 weeks.. Lots of reports and presentations to do..

Anyway just a short update for u all. Went to Pg Times Square Haven's Delight for a buffet session. It is something like Tao. RM 49.90+ perperson. You can go in anytime unlike Tao which there are sessions for you to follow. Then you will be given 2 precious hours to order your food.

Well basically i would stay that it is not bad. Maybe it is more worth it than Tao as the environment are slightly cosier than Tao. Besides that, the food portions are bigger and the time they serve out the dishes are faster too.

As for the menu, i think it's like Tao too. They have those sashimi, chicken ban ban, shishamo, grill salmon, scallops, abalone cold cut and many others. Typical Tao's dishes i supposed. LoL

Below are a few pictures of the restaurant. I didn't manage to take any pictures of the food as i was busy "walloping up" all the dishes. Must make full use of my precious 2 hours duration. Just felt so guilty for being a glutton.. >.<

From Penang Times Square, we proceeded to Queensbay Mall. Thought of just having some window shopping. Mana tahu, eyes ithcy, hands itchy, I ended up buying Croc shoes. =.=" There is this promotion where the second pair of shoes you buy, you will be entitled for a 30% discount. So ended up buying this shoes :

1st pair : RM229 no discount because it is "so-called" to be one of the new arrivals when i remembered seeing this model since last year.

2nd pair : RM209 entitled for 30% discount. LoL

My mum also bought another pair for herself. Simple sandals but cost RM170. No discount for the third pair though. =.=""

Nevertheless to be honest, this is my 1st time owning croc shoes after so long... Hahaha

Thats all for now. Hopefully more updates in the near future.

Cheers!!

Earth hour 2009

Posted by Rabbit

YEap it's Earth Hour 2009 on the 28th March 2009. So are u all going to switch off your lights? your computers? your handphones? Lolz.. =P

VOTE EARTH
YOUR LIGHT SWITCH IS YOUR VOTE

This year, Earth Hour has been transformed into the world’s first global election, between Earth and global warming.

For the first time in history, people of all ages, nationalities, race and background have the opportunity to use their light switch as their vote – Switching off your lights is a vote for Earth, or leaving them on is a vote for global warming. WWF are urging the world to VOTE EARTH and reach the target of 1 billion votes, which will be presented to world leaders at the Global Climate Change Conference in Copenhagen 2009.

This meeting will determine official government policies to take action against global warming, which will replace the Kyoto Protocol. It is the chance for the people of the world to make their voice heard.

Earth Hour began in Sydney in 2007, when 2.2 million homes and businesses switched off their lights for one hour. In 2008 the message had grown into a global sustainability movement, with 50 million people switching off their lights. Global landmarks such as the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco, Rome’s Colosseum, the Sydney Opera House and the Coca Cola billboard in Times Square all stood in darkness.

In 2009, Earth Hour is being taken to the next level, with the goal of 1 billion people switching off their lights as part of a global vote. Unlike any election in history, it is not about what country you’re from, but instead, what planet you’re from.

VOTE EARTH is a global call to action for every individual, every business, and every community. A call to stand up and take control over the future of our planet. Over 74 countries and territories have pledged their support to VOTE EARTH during Earth Hour 2009, and this number is growing everyday.

We all have a vote, and every single vote counts.

Together we can take control of the future of our planet, for future generations.
VOTE EARTH by simply switching off your lights for one hour, and join the world for Earth Hour.

Saturday, March 28, 8:30-9:30pm.
