When things got out of control...

Posted by Rabbit

Hey all.. I'm trying to update as frequent as possible coz a few of my so called "loyal" readers had started complaining about the stagnant blog.

Anyway I went back to my university on Wednesday evening to have some group discussions on my EPP group interview. On that night, Ming Zhi called up to ask me to fetch him to Tesco to buy some groceries and cooking ingredients as he wanted to become the "chef" of the night. Spaghetti and mushroom soup was all he wanted to cook though.. LoL.

Well the outcome of the dinner was not bad as he had a good advisor (obviously it would be me =P). The spaghetti was delicious or maybe because i was too hungry waiting for him to cook. around 8.30pm only i was able to eat ok.. My usual time for dinner is 7pm. The soup was also quite delicious. Added 2 eggs into the soup. LoL

Below are the pictures of the chef on action. Ignore Melvin as he was just posing and did not contributed anything... Andy was baking cookies coincidently.. LoL

Ignore the bushy hairs on Zhi's abdomen as this proved that his long long ancestor did evolved from hominans or the great apes.. LoL

Anyway today i received my statement from Citibank. To my horror the amount i spent last month was enormous. My mum kept complaining about it and told me that i've got to have some self-control... She also said that i swape the card more than her.. bla bla bla...

Alright i promise that i'll try to minimise my spending in the future... =X

The amount... I'm so dead.....

Happy belated Deepavali!!

Hey all.. i know it has been a while since my last post.. What to do, i'm kinda lazy and at the same time i was also taxed down with assignments, reports and C.A.

Well, i'd just finished 2 papers last week and i'm still having 4 more to go when my so called "holidays" ends. Anyway let me recap some of the random not-so-important stuff which i did last week. Had my MGP CA on Monday and AMFT CA on Wednesday. Supposed to have a paper on Friday but it was last minute cancelled due to some "can be avoided" reason. LoL

Had quite a few interesting lectures last week.. Mainly was the DNA typing-match probability fingerprinting class. Suddenly the whole class paid attention to the lecturers and asked many questions as if they are attending CSI/Forensic Heroes class.. Hahaha..

As for labs, we had our electrophoresis lab, DNA extraction and purification, reading of protein/DNA bands using gel documentation system : Fluorchem 8900. Besides that for AMFT lab, we did yougurt fermentation using Lactobacillus cultures and also wine fermentation. This practical really made us hungry as the yogurt turned out to be quite successful wih strawberry flavour cultures. As for the wine, it was watermelon based. Why watermelon is used? I'm not so sure though but i think because it is cheap.. Hahahha..

This is the DNA bands in gel elelctrophoresis.. not so clear though..

So it was friday when i packed my bag and go back to Penang. It was raining like kitties and puppies. On the way i saw this :

It was quite unusual to have traffic jams in the middle of the highway.

Later i saw this :

Yea a Proton Perdana V6 skidded, rotated and crushed to the side barrier. The car was terribly damaged. But i think the driver was ok. Moral of the story? Do not speed when it is raining. LoL

Anyway at the moment i have 2 rDNA reports, 2 Protein and enzyme technology, 1 population genetics and 1 Applied Micriobiology and Fermentation tEchnology to be done. Hopefully i will be able to clear all this report by this week and continue my revision after that.

Thats all for now. Take care all. before i forget, HAPPY BELATED DEEPAVALI and HAPPY HOLIDAYS to all..

Coming up in the next post, SEED promotional post by University Utara Malaysia (UUM)....

It's my CA week

Posted by Rabbit

Yup it is my CA week. Just had my M.G Physiology paper today.. Don't think so i did so well which i'd expect to be. Facts just flew out from my head when i entered the exam hall. ANyway there will be 2 more papers this week.. Wednesday : Applied microbiology & fermentation technology while Friday will be my Protein & Enzyme Technology..

Worst of all, i'm sick and very lethargic.. Thats what always happend when i'm having my exams.. Haizzzz...

Tuesday- A hectic day..

Posted by Rabbit

Had our protein & enzyme technology lab today. Did the fixing of SDS-PAGE equipment and a few stuff. Our SO, Miss Merinna explain to us the equipment. She is really good. I would love her more if she is our lecturer. She is really good at explaining, clear and precise!! She is so student friendly unlike other lecturers.. Anyway the whole thing of SDS-PAGE is a very long process. It takes hours to complete the whole thing. It is not a easy process either as like what we had always seen in TV like CSI and Forensic Heroes. Lots of stuff to prepare and lots of PATIENCE is needed to be frank. Here are how SDS-PAGE looks like.. Quite "cacat" the pic i'd captured as i was busy mugging down the explaination by Ms. Merinna.

Anyway it was a crazy encounter in Sushi-King egate. It was the RM2 bonanza deal. All the sushi's will be only RM2 perplate. Pictures explains more than a thousand words... Anyway we only managed to gobble down only 38 plates of sushi after waiting for more than an hour outside the restaurant. So not worth it after the long waiting!! LoL. A friend told me that the queue in Sushi King outlet in Juru Autocity is even worst!! I'm sure Jasmine will go crazy if she reads this post..Wakaka.. Why? coz she sms-ed me for supper when i was munching down my sushi at that time.. no time to reply her also.. Hahahaha =P Anyway the total bill was only RM87.40 for 38 plates of sushi.. Awesome... ROFL

Not many pictures on the Sushi because I was too busy looking out for sushi rolling out on the kaiten belt.. LoL..

Important links

Posted by Rabbit

I had actually posted up a few important links in my blog. It is "supposed" to be quite useful for me but i doubt it so though.. LoL.
Anyway i need more traffics to my blog. So therefore dear readers, please help me to publicise my blog a bit yea.. =P

Last night, I went out for dinner with Melvin, Eu Shen & Ming Zhi. Kuang Jih last minute told us that he couldn't make it.. Drove them to "Piao Xiang Restaurant" located at Amanjaya traffic light junction. 4 of us had 4 dishes. After having our dinner, each of us tapao fried rice back for supper. Definately it wasn't my idea. It was the two skinny guys Melvin and Ming Zhi's idea. Big eater but still so thin. High metabolism rate i guess. Anyway after dinner, Melvin went to foot the bill and to my surprised, he told me that he is going to treat me. I was so touched!! LoL. The bill came up to about RM 53 if i am not mistaken. It was a real satisfying yet contented meal as ES was there to enlighten us throughout the whole journey.. =P

So thats all about now. There will be a class on Saturday. It is really so lethargic being a student.. LoL.

Time to pen-off. Take care all !! Cheers~~

PM touts biotechnology as key development driver

Posted by Rabbit

Adapted from The Star Online

KUALA LUMPUR: Biotechnology will benefit all races and provide the direction for the country, said Prime Minister Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi.

Biotechnology, as the main driver of development in the five economic corridors, has an important influence in agriculture, the environment, energy resources as well as future development of scientists, he said.
“With our three areas of focus - agriculture, healthcare and industrial development - biotechnology will have a tremendous influence in the direction of our country’s future,” he said at the opening of BioMalaysia 2008 yesterday.

He pointed out that the emphasis on biotechnology would pose a challenge to industry players.

“These areas (corridors) are multiracial and it (the benefit) is not for a particular race only.

“Biotechnology will help improve people’s lives. It will also produce many new courses in universities.”

The corridors are Sabah Development Corridor, Sarawak Corridor of Renewable Energy, Northern Economic Corridor Region, East Coast Economic Corridor and Iskandar Malaysia.

Abdullah hoped the application of biotechnology, including producing more effective medications, would give Malaysians a more healthy, vibrant and active lifestyle.

He said he was glad that the Biotech International Advisory Panel, which held its third meeting on Monday, recognised Malaysia’s effort to succeed in biotechnology.

Science, Technology and Innovation Minister Datuk Dr Maximus Ongkili said the three focus of biotechnology would be applied at the corridors based on their strengths and their needs.

He said the International Advisory Panel had advised that Malaysia go back to its strengths in marine and agriculture and find ways to add value to them.

He said the meeting felt it was the right time for Malaysia to market itself more aggressively, as the Americans and other investors were looking for alternative investment opportunities.

“Malaysia is a suitable alternative. With a reasonable high growth rate of 5.5%, we are able to absorb the shock (of the meltdown in the United States),” he said.

About 2,000 delegates took part in the three-day conference and exhibition.

Energy source: Abdullah looking at the Jatropha seeds while SaintifikSiatic Centre for Genome Technology Sdn Bhd senior executive Alex Kuek Chun Seng tells him about the crop that can produce biofuel at the exhibition held in conjunction with BioMalaysia 2008 in Kuala Lumpur yesterday. On The BF...

Posted by Rabbit

Reached back uni on Sunday. Nothings changed. Everything is still the same, quiet atmosphere as usual.

Anyway on Monday night, one of my bf, KJ came to my room. He came to munch down some chocolates as i had promised him the previous week. We talked, chatted and gossiped a lot and also shared some of our private feelings on some issues. Time really flies when you are with somebody you are close to and it passes really very slow like a milipede crawling if you are with somebody who you are uneasy with.
2 hours just past like a breeze when i am with him. He is one of my only good bf since last year.. Thanks KJ for still being close to me although we have been quite far apart for nearly 8 months.

Just now, went out for dinner with some friend and friend's friend of mine. There were about 9 of us. It was quite awkward for us at the beginning but as soon as the dishes arrive, all of us has the same target/similarity where we were like zombies hastily munching down the food. I think not more than 20 minutes, all the dishes were gobbled down to our roaring tummies.

Well my C.A is barely 1.5 weeks away and i have yet to really start a thing. Still in my dream/fantasy land and i think it is time to wake up now..

Thats all for now and until then, take care all!!

On the weekends...

Posted by Rabbit

Quite lazy during the weekends.. Nothing much to blog actually.. Just eat and sleep most of the times. The worst part is i am getting "cuter" day by day whenever i am having my holidays and when i am back to Penang.

Anyway, as i told you all in the last post, i managed to get myself a mp3 modulator for my car and a pendrive. The pendrive has the ability to enable password. In other words, i will be able to save my "P&C" stuff inside without fearing others will know what is it inside.. I'm a saint ok.. don't think side-tracked.. LoL.

Anyway here are the pictures of some food and the pendrive thing.. Malas nak blog dah.. Hahaha..

Thats all and cheers~~

Crapping..

Hey all... before i start to crap again, let me wish all of you all Selamat Hari Raya Maaf Zahir Batin !!! My holidays are numbered now.. Haizz.

Anyway i still have 2 reports to be finished and some english assignments to be done. However the problem is i have yet to start a thing!!! I'm just so lazyyyyyyYYYYY...

Yea i went to queensbay on Wednesday since i did not managed to join my friends on Tuesday. And the results at the end of the day are :

A sweet coloured striped shirt. RM 55.50. It's under SEED brand. Thought of wearing it on Monday when i am back to uni. Should I? I'm so undecided!! LoL

2 bottles of Vitamin C chewables. Quite worth it as it is only RM28.88 for 2 bottles.

Anyway i was chatting with Lisa the previous night and we were like talking nonsense and even Evelyn join in the conversation later on. As we were talking, Lisa was talking about the extinction of good guys, so on and so fourth. So she said her senior, Kah Kiat is a every girl's dream la.. this and that. So she asked me if KK is attached and so on. I told her i'm not sure. Maybe he is not? LoL. So she said "Tak mungkinlah.. unless he is GAY!!"

I was like laughing and giggling and this makes her more suspicious. So my dear Kah Kiat bro.. u better tell everyone whats ur current status as i heard Lisa said that there are a lot of junior girls waiting for you to say the word "single". Wakaka..

Anyway back to the topic of extinction of good guys.. maybe its true.. there are a few types of good guys actually.. Among them are :

1. They pretend to be good guys

2.They are good buy they are gay

3.They are good in the bad things

In other words, there are no good guys!! Hahahaha..

Okla enough of crapping, i know its boring.. lol.. Anyway i am going to PC depot tomorrow to get myself a pendrive and a mp3 modulator for my car.

Thats all for now.. Cheers all!!
