Well I know I am a little late on this update, but hopefully everyone has been enjoying getting ready for Christmas as much as I have. The lights are up, the tree is still standing and the kids have wrote at least 3 letters to Santa. So I guess you could say the Quinney household is loving the holidays!!!
Bryson went down on Monday to get his RSV shot. Then on Tuesday he had is 1 year immunizations. The poor kid had to get 6 shots! Needless to say he has been a little cranky. All went well at his check up. They are going to be watching his head. He doesn't even register on their charts. His head is above and beyond the 100 percentile. His weight and height are steadily increasing, but his head has jumped way ahead. I told his Dr. that all my kids have had bigger heads, however none of them went off the chart. So, we will go back in a month to get it measured again and if it it still growing they will to a CAT scan and MRI. Developmentaly he is not showing any signs of swelling in his head or having any seizures, so they are just going to watch it close but not over look it.
Preston has been getting ready for his school Christmas program. Every night he sings us the new songs he has learned, or the ones he has made up. He is a great singer.
Ashlee is loving Middle School. She serves on the student council and is learning alot about growing up and being more responsible.
Brock still continues to keep us all on our toes. The kindergarten just started going all day to school after the Christmas Break. He is feeling quite grown up now.
Well better run. Got lots to do.
Love to everyone! And Merry Christmas!!!!

To Be Thankful.....
As I was looking through some pictures of this time last year, I came across this one that we took of Bryson last year while in the hospital at PCMC. We were able to bring Bryson home just before Thanksgiving after spending the first 5 weeks of his life at Primary's. We had so much to be thankful for then and although so much has happend between now and then, we still continue to be thankful for so many things. I thought I would brainstorm just a few off the top of my head:
1. A Father In Heaven who cares about each and every one of his children.
2. Family
3. True Friends who step up to the plate at any moment.
4. Miracles
5. Heart Friends and Angels.
6. Competent Doctors
7. Loving Nurses
8. Understanding Employers
9. Ward Family
10. Our Community
There are so many more things we are thankful for but this is a start to our list. If you haven't already, take a minute and jot down a list of things that you might be thankful for as well this Holiday Season. Happy Thanskgiving from the Quinney Family.

Low Reserves
One thing we have learned over the past year, is that when Bryson catches a bug he has a more difficult time fighting it off. The heart conditions just do not allow for much reserve in the tank to fight them off. Over the past week or so he has gotten a cold and it has been hard on his oxygen levels. We have an oximeter here in the house and try and keep good tabs on where he is at. The doctors want him above 80 and the past day or two he has been dropping into the high 70's. Today we took him into the clinic to have the Dr. listen to his lungs and his sats dropped to about 75. So needless to say we have returned to being on oxygen for a bit. We don't want his body to work too hard to maintain his oxygen levels. Hopefully being back on oxygen will give him a little break and aid him in fighting off this latest bug.
We found out today that we will have our next Cardiology Appointment on December 5-6. It is a two day appointment were they will do a bunch of tests and checkups. Part of it is for his regular checkup and the other part is for a 14 month developmental evaluation as apart of a study on the effects of congential heart disease on these kids. So hopefully betweeen now and then, Bryson will turn a corner and get back off the oxygen.

Laughter, The Best Medicine
Here is a video that captures Bryson at his best. Bryson and the rest of the kids have been fighting colds and stomach viruses this week so the household has been quite crazy. Bryson's oxygen sats have been a bit lower and he seems to get tired easy as he fights off the sniffles. We will be having a cardiology appointment in a few weeks so we willget a more updated progress report then. We hope you enjoy this video as much as we do. Laughter truly is the best medicine.

Never a dull moment
Well today Eric woke up sick and the kids and I went to SLC to a meeting for the Intermountian Healing Hearts support group. It was a quick trip there and back, but worth every minute of it. There are so many amazing families with heart kids that it is great to pull from there strength. Well the day only got better, after we got home our toilet was clogged. Nothing new ( we thought) until we flushed the toilet upstairs and everything came out downstairs toilet and shower. So after a few phone calls and snaking out our sewer clean out, here is what is at our house .....the towns sewer clean out monster. Much to our surprise they not only have to do it from our sewer clean out but from multiple man holes out in the street. I am sure this is what the public works dept. wanted to do on their Saturday night. Any way I better get back to mopping up the 1/2 inch of standing water I have in my bathroom downstairs. I look at it like this: At least I will get a spotless bathroom out of it :)
