The last run of the season????

Well since the weather is cooling off a bit I am suspecting that the weekend runs will be coming to and end shortly. However for Labor Day we are going to Heber City to Swiss Days for a 10K run and of course a craft show that is out of this world. I just hope it doesn't rain. I suspect this will be the last run since Eric is gone every weekend in Sept. for work or play and then in Oct. not only does it seem to cold to me to be running but the baby will be coming by Halloween. So I suspose he will fill the time he would of spent running outside with indoor raquetball.
We will post pictures of the run next week.

Brock

Brock or Brockers as we call him is 4 years old and lives up to every minute of it. He loves doing whatever his brother is doing. He is very curious about the baby coming and wondering if we could name him Brock Micheal Quinney just like him. He knows the baby will be here by Halloween so of couse a few times a week he asks how much longer until Halloween.
His latest thing is instead of talking to you he sings to you. So while eating breakfast you are serinaded with Brock asking for more cereal, or as he is doing right now singing to Ashlee about playing with him. He is such a goof ball.
He has one more year and then will start Kindergarten, so next week when the kids start school I sense he is going to feel just a little lost. Hopefully Mom can fill that void up to his expectations.
Here is the most recent pic of Brock. He is listening to Erics Ipod after the Evanston 5K.

Preston

Preston is our 2nd child. He will be turning 8 this November and is looking forward to his baptism. He is going into the 2nd grade and loves learning about dinosaurs, bugs and insects. Like any other boy he loves all sports, espically baseball and golf just like his Dad. He even enjoys sitting with his Dad and watching Tiger Woods golf or the San Diego Padres play on t.v. As long as it is with his Dad he is happy.

SURPRISES

Well I have to tell you that my husband endures putting up with me so well. Yesterday a friend and I took our husbands to Utah for their birthdays. The only catch was that they had no idea what we were doing. We kept it a secret and it drove them crazy! Eric cannot stand not knowing what is going on. And I was just excited to be able to finally surprise him with something. He always manages to know what he is getting for Christmas and every other birthday so I was not saying a word on this one. Well the day was fun, among other things, we stopped in Park City and went on the Alpine Slide. If you ever get a chance to go you should. It was gerat fun and beautiful up in the mountains. So despite them not knowing what was happening next I think that still had fun.

giving it a try

O.K. I suppose it is time I blog. Sorry I won't be posting any pictures. I know you are all saddened but I promise pics once the baby is here.
Anyway, I manage to keep busy. I am over the Beehives in our ward so of course I have instant babysitters. Isn't it wonderful. I have been kept busy watching Eric do many home improvements. With his weight loss he has new found energy and hates sitting still. So I am his #1 supporter and cheerleader. He has done everything from cleaning and organizing kids closets to starting to build a deck and everything inbetween. Even dishes and laundry when his wife manages to fail that task for the day. I must admit my friends are jealous and wonder if he is for hire when it comes to house work. (What a great guy!) I still clean the medical clinic at night with the great help of our 2 oldest kids. And for me keeping up with the kids is a job in itself.
Eric has been playing on a co-ed softball league and that has been fun to watch. I plan on joining him next summer. I love going and watching him do his runs and triathlons and anything else, however I have not made the commitment to join him on this endeavor after the baby is born. Mabye someday.
Well I suppose that between the kids, church, night time job and anything else that comes my way I manage to keep busy and love every minute of it.
Me and the baby are doing well. It is a boy and as far as names who knows. We have some we like, but nothing has stuck. I am sure something will come along. We still have 3 months to figure it out I guess.

Ashlee

Well I thought that I would let Jennylin blog about herself and get you all caught up. Maybe she will post a picture of her cute 7 month pregant belly!!

As far as our oldest child, Ashlee, she is growing like a weed. Ashlee just turned 9 years old and will be starting the 4th grade at Urie Elementary. She loves to read, dance, sing, and even play a little ball here and there. She has old Dad wrapped around her fingers and Dad knows he is going to have to start scaring away the boys sooner than I want.

When Ashlee learned that our fourth child was going to be another boy she was a bit disappointed I think, but after learning that she was never going to have to share a rooom or give up her sole possession of princess status within the house I think she is fairly content.

Here is a recent picture of Ashlee taken at the Bringhurst Family Reunion up in Oak City Canyon. She loves the camera!!

A Change in Lifestyle

Well to start out my blog I thought I should at least bring everyone up to speed on the major happenings around the family. It seems like everyone has a little of something going on, I thought maybe we could write a blog about a different memeber of the family each day so as not to bore everyone on the first entry.

Eric - Well I have included before and after pictures of what is going on with me these days. On January 1, 2006 I started out with a new years resolution to live a healthier life and that meant shedding a few pounds. I parted ways with my beloved Mountain Dew for the last time at the stroke of midnight to ring in the new year. These lips have not tasted of it again, these days you might find me with an occasional diet coke with lime!!! 135 lbs have been lost to date and I can't even begin to tell you how wonderful it feels. I have taken up running and biking and recently competed in a mini triathlon and a couple of 5K Races. I have my sights set on a 10K next month and a half marathon in the Spring. In my spare time, I am the Elder's Quorum President, serve on the City Council and am employed as the Chief Administrative Officer for the Uinta County Fire and Amblulance Service. I also graduated with my master's in public administration in May, so needless to say we seem to always have something to do!

So if you ready to run a 5K, 10K or a Half-Marathon, drop me a line, I would love to do it with you!!

Eric
