insert NT10 (SGD0.40) coin into this machine and immediately a cacophony of olden day chinese music will start playing.

and this lady will sashay out of the "auspicious house" with the rolled divine lot on a tray. then once she reaches the front of red "dropbox", she will tilt the tray and the divine lot will fall into the "pigeon hole" for u to pick up.

cool huh? hehe. Taichung Sun Moon Lake Wenwu Temple 台中 日月潭 文武庙.

pity the 解签 uncle wasnt very friendly so we didnt get much scoop out of the divine lots. boo.

THE tofu street

my driver made a spontaneous stop at 深坑豆腐街 while we were in Taichung.

old modern street feel, quite nice lah. just enough crowd on a Sunday, not too much, not too little.

as the name suggest, they sell all kind of tofu products on this street: tofu cake, tofu egg tart, braised tofu, fermented tofu, smelly tofu, tofu mochi etc etc etc.

but apparently, the must try is tofu ice cream!

this uncle boss (in blue) is damnnnnn nice! unlike the usual grouchy uncle bosses we see in Singapore, this taiwanese uncle boss was all smiles, he told me the box opens from the right and when i went back to get extra spoons from him, he thought i dropped the previous spoon, and told me "汤匙如果掉了不要去捡，我再给你多一个" awww~~

but honestly hor, the tofu ice cream is nothing to wow about lah. soso nia, 4 person can share 1 tub just to try, like what i did! haha.

lols. in Cingjing, Taiwan. its a beautiful place! though imo Switzerland is still prettier, but mai hiam buey pai lah!

and though the sheepies are quite dirty and their poo is everywhere and their saliva is gross, still quite cute lah.

seriously dont know what Mrs Chan is trying to do with the sheepies, her specific instructions to me was "拍我抓羊"....    =__=

dont know how i feel about the green ribbon sticker on my thumb though, its like a good break from the pink, but yet feels abit clashy.

aged hearts

my hearty mani after 5 weeks!

still quite hearty haha. added my 1st bling to test how long it will last. on the ring finger fyi.

right bling was gone in 0.5 weeks, left bling is 1.5 weeks and still going strong. changed my nails today so didnt get to really see how long the bling will last exactly.

the mini and the 4s

day 1 of life with the Mini and the 4S - it was awesome! the Mini has a much bigger screen and i can watch videos and read more comfortably off it! and its lighter than i expected!

day 2 of life with the Mini and the 4S - i feel confused alternating between the 2 Apple gadgets, plus my hands are so tired holding the Mini while standing in the train boo~

day 3 - it is actually adding quite abit of weight to my bag.. and the screen is abit too big for surfing on the mrt, its like the guy standing beside me can see everything in my Facebook!

but all to greener pastures, so im happy for them. but that means i have only 1 other friend left in office! BOO. sigh.

the flower pot

went to Vanilla Cafe at Boon Tat Street, small quiet cosy resto really near office, and ordered a vanilla dirt cake....

DAMN CUTE!! the "soil" is actually oreo cookie, underneath is oreo ice cream, gummy as "earthworm" lols 100 marks for creativity!

also ordered their half wings and tom yum risotto which are delish. that is 99% gobbled up tom yum risotto haha too yums!

mushroom bacon shoyu pasta, which my friend said tasted like char kway teow LOL ok nia.

oh and spam fries, soso. expensive ($10+) luncheon meat strips.

the other blockbuster dessert: durian creme brulee! very yums but very expensive, $8.80 for the tiny pot.

lava cake with cheap ice cream, not good dont order. other than this, will still go back again!

i love my new steve maddies!

i feel like Dorothy from Wizard of Oz, except that its not red haha.

quite expensive though SGD80 for this, should try to buy online next time!

Resto Week Oct13

Clifford at Fullerton Bay Hotel

love the deco and ambience, sooo sooooooo pretty! i wanna be proposed and married here! wahahaha okay kidding.

a fresh and beautiful pink rose on every table. that was butter though it looked like soap haha.

special restaurant week menu with alot of add-on options, but we chose the normal ones haha.

and we didnt order any drinks cuz they are too expensive lols. super cheapo heartlanders~

my appetiser was mushroom soup, not too bad. i like the tinge of truffle taste.

my main was braised short ribs (beef), love it. not too tough nor dry and doesnt taste like the normal chinese braised pork haha.

LJ and Ting chose the fish, which is not too bad as well. but im more a beef than fish person.

apple tart as dessert! not too bad but no wow factor either.

Salt Grill & Sky Bar

Ion Sky Level 55, boasts a splendid view of the city.

iPhone is unfortunately incapable of capturing the beautiful night scenary, Canon S110 can do better but still require a tripod (our "tripod" was LJ's bf haha).

only problem is that the place is sooo dark, i cant take a proper picture of the food without the glaring flashlight.

so i ripped photos out from Zen who went for lunch instead. food is the almost same for lunch and dinner, but Zen said the resto is super warm in the afternoon cuz of the glass ceiling.

anyways, i like the Salmon Tartare (top left) but the rest said its normal, crab omelette is better but no photo. mains i chose Salt's signature tenderloin (bottom left), uber UBER yums! better than Mortons and Clifford, imo. the warm hazelnut cake (bottom right) is not bad but not wow either.

unfortunately, i made the wrong choice of dessert: ginger sorbet+fruit salad. and i hate ginger. =__=

Conclusion: Prefer Clifford's ambience but Salt's food!

touring Langkawi with chui faces

outdated post fyi lols.

our 1st stop is the Langkawi Cable Car!

pretty touristy place, actually. what beautiful sky (and what a fugustingly hot day LOL)!

bought tickets here, RM30/pax. even cheaper for Malaysian citizens. long queue, we waited 20min for our turn.

this will be the only picture featuring us in Langkawi lols we all looked too frigging chui because of the heat and the early morning flight haha.

the famous Langkawi bridge that was featured in some Bollywood action movie lols. they were showing scenes from the movie at the waiting area.

we reached the top! but bridge is closed for "maintenance"! BAH~

view was splendid, though. cant believe this is Malaysia! lols~

wanted to visit the Telaga Tujuh Waterfalls beside the cable car but were too tired so we just went back to the resort's beach to nua~~

Pulau Payar Marine Park the next day! took a full day tour, 1hr bus pickup from resort to the ferry terminal then 1hr ferry to the island to snorkel for 2hrs then simple bento lunch provided then snorkel for another 2hrs then back to resort. RM80/pax.

the only bad thing is that there are too many people snorkelling so its not very clean, plus there is no fresh water on the island, we had to use mineral water to just slightly wash ourselves after. bathed only when back in resort.

saw baby sharks while snorkelling! and also 2x nemos and sea urchins and water snakes (or are they called eels?)! ting saw a giant grouper which i didnt see though boo~

wonderful place for a short holiday, high recommend! *likes*
