It was pouring outside, but our hotel managed to find a kind (and come to think of it now, also unscrupulous) taxi driver to drive us when there's even a little bit of flood outside.
I showed the taxi driver the map I gotten from the Somboon website, and immediately the taxi driver said "Yes, yes, I know". Which surprised me because I heard not many taxi drivers know the place.From the map, I expect the taxi ride to be about 10-15min, but it only took us 5-10min to get there. But since has the same signboard and name (apparently we didnt have a good look), we just went ahead anyways.

Immediately we were whisked in to select our crab by the restaurant manager, and then horror begins.
1) Restaurant is dingy and empty
Totally different from what I expected, Somboon is supposed to be famous and packed.
2) Service staff's attitude is really bad and hostile
They feel like vultures, seriously. Definitely not a comfortable dinner.

I have heard rave reviews about it from my friends, was really disappointed when I discovered that the curry crab tastes medicore and the prawn vermicelli claypot is absolutely dry.

Really. And I have never seen any crab's top shell that clean. Even male crabs get some funny pseudo-roe stuffs underneath their shell. Meatless too.5) Freaking expensive1 crab curry and 1 prawn claypot (with only 4 prawns) costs 2,330 Baht (USD 80) !

Our total came up to 2,130 Baht. We gave 2,500 Baht, change was only 170 Baht because 200 Baht was "for staff". We were not told of this ridiculously expensive service charge before we sat down, especially not when service is so bad.
How we realised it is a fake Somboon is when we walked out of the restaurant and realised the nearest BTS Station is Phaya Thai and not National Stadium as what Somboon's website says.

free apples frm e roadshow downstairs, they've been there 2 days n by the 2nd day i went to get my free apples, i finally asked yenlee jiejie wat they are advertising for. then yenlee jiejie simply said, "the apple lor, they sell apples".
