had dinner at xin wang hk cafe. food's not bad.

we were quite tickled by their soy beancurd, cuz of e gigantic tub n scoop it arrived in.

i was so sooo amused. haha~

tink e last time i sang ktv was on my bdae, n tats like more than 4mths ago! ktv is simply too exorbitantly priced on wkends.

look at e colours we'r wearing! im like e fusion of the rest's colours. black + white. haha~

speaking of wat im wearing, it's my latest acquisition, costs oni $19 (frm isetan) n i love it!! pretty decent dress huh? hoho~

looking forward to nx mth's sistas outing! whose turn 2b organiser?? hehe~

Mr Chan's bdae brunch

i was quite appalled by how decrepit e bldg housing Red Star Restaurant is.

e elevator looks older than my grandfather. oops, sorry grandpa~ LoL~

inside, it's juz a normal old-fashioned chinese restaurant lahz.

oh! guess who's oso at Red Star?? Mr OZK. plus a whole table of PwC A2s (see pink arrowed). can be more qiao anot~

i bot 4D: 1230. 12 is my table no, 30 being Mr OZK's table no. *dio dio dio 1st prize!*

Red Star is famous for its affordable dim sum. it's owned by one of e '4 heavenly chefs'.

not bad lorz, e dim sum. e fried stuffs are realli quite oily tho. yum cha's dim sum are more high class tho.

Chan family's fav dishes: cuttlefish + jellyfish thingy, sweet sour pork, n char siew chee cheong fun! yums!!

after tat i went shopping for my winter clothing, in prep of my upcoming china job nx mth.

din purchase cuz its woolly thingy comes out easily n irritates my nose. plus, it's pretty impractical. realli love it tho. sigh, i want winter in sg!

it's an american restaurant situated at some ulu corner of orchard road, @ tanglin place (beside tanglin mall).

e deco is uber american, so nostalgic for me n ting lehz. hehe~

e bar counter is especially american lorz, look exactly like Applebee man! awwww~

while waiting for food to arrive, lijun handed us our lil 'anniversary' gift. to commemorate our 1st year in PwC! thx lijun for e sweet gesture!~

food is finally here! look at our sumptuous meal! hoho~

dan ryan's serves american-sized portions too, me n ting were like how shocked by e size of their bfast deluxe. haha~

exactly a yr ago, i joined PricewaterhouseCoopers Singapore as an assurance associate, together with 30+ other fresh graduates.

*connected, worked, slogged, slacked, frolicked.

still rem how slack i was in e early days of my career in PwC, juz enjoying. audit peak came n went, i was pretty lucky as compared to some of my peers.

n nw, im starting to get e gist of wat audit is about. learning at an exponential pace (it is recently tat i discover e fastest way to learn is to kena a shit job, hehz) .

cant realli say tat im loving audit, but as of nw i dont mind doing audit.

occupational hazards come not only in e form of stress and late hrs, but also e depression tat comes along when u see ur fav snrs leaving e firm. oh well, it's an industry with high turnovers anyways.

oh, my work outfits has taken up more space in my wardrobe than casual outfits. work outfits can be pretty too! hehe~

e audit room was too small for e team, hence i volunteered to sit outside. n whatta surprise i've got!

how distracting to face sg's biggest shopping centre when working lorz. it's juz so ez to juz gaze n daze man. hehe~

both of us were pretty awestruck by our seats' view at nite wor, even more awesome than in e day.

e big boardroom's view is lagi best. little did we expect tat our privately-owned client wld have such great view wor.

v gum with e team, which makes working late less unbearable. had so much fun working wif e team of young associates! hehe~

e client was pretty nice to us throughout e whole audit, one free lunch, not much temper thrown at auditors.

but half of e team pulled out tis wk, which made e audit room super empty. (sissy: look! im using e calc u bot me! hee~)

tis wk's my last on e job too, hope nx yr they can get e whole original team back too! *heart*

one of e tiny pluses of being an auditor is e opportunities to discover gd food all ard e island (okay tats provided ur clients are all over e island). these are some of my fav finds...

SingTel ComCentre canteen (beside Somerset MRT)

it's like food heaven hidden amongst e orchard area, their prices are realli low! eg. their korean bbq chicken set is oni $3! or isit $4? aiya it's cfm <$5 jiu dui le...

quite nice lahz. i prefer their kimchi soup ($3.50) tho, shiok-ly spicy with lotsa liao. woohoo~

their chendol is oni 50c if i nv rem wrongly. damn cheap lahz, all their food. n they have like 10+ over stalls there, sells all sorts of things. heard lee hsien yang likes e laksa there.

e grilled fish with mushroom sauce is v nice too. oni $3 oso i tink. yums!~

Noodle Place Restaurant @ Centrepoint Level 1

my mgrs treated me to tis restaurant. muahahaha~

love their sweet n sour pork! vv crispy n juz e right amt of sweet n sour!~

they'r famous for their signature porridge. it has super alot of liao inside: pig liver, pork ball, duck meat, youtiao, abalone, egg, blahblah. not bad, v filling. affordable price too.

retro bakery @ Tanglin Halt (behind Commonwealth MRT)

it's like e most retro place i've ever been in sg nowadays. love how retro e place looks. hope it doesnt get upgraded...

look at their bakery! sooooo old fashioned! i like. haha~

we always go there to buy custard puffs. it's damn cheap, 30c per puff. we always buy em in boxes as tea break snacks. quite nice.

but other than e cool retro setting n cheap puffs, nth else is nice there. food kinda sucks. heard tat all e great foods (duck mee, wanton mee) are opened at nite oni, mayb tats why.

Don's Pie @ Far East Square (Raffles Place)

it's pretty famous n juz a street away frm PwC Building. $3.80 for a quarter pie, served well to fill my tummy. but can get quite gerlaat towards e end.

lotsa stuffings inside: potato, egg, chicken, mushroom, some peas n carrot. savoury n peppery taste. nice nice~

bak kut teh at Environment Building canteen level 2

it's not a place where ppl usually goes tho. unless u go enviro bldg to pay fines or to renew hawker licences. haha~

e bak kut teh is nice, in my opinion. oni $3. quite alotta ppl buy oso.

soup is not too herbal-tasting, which is gd for me. e bak kut is kinda diff to disintegrate into bite-size tho, but they taste gd with chilli black soya sauce! =))

Han's @ Great Eastern Building level 1 (Raffles Place)

e restaurant's HUGE n veri posh-looking lehz, n their set lunches are like how cheap lorz.

$8 for below set: coffee, soup, fish & chips, fruits. whatta surprise find in e CBD area!~

yes, i realised im wearing e same top. it's juz pure coincidence lahz, tats definitely not e oni working attire tat i have horz. bleahz~

wat did u wanna be when u grow up?

i wanted to be a doctor.

it all began with tis HK drama serial i watched when i was young, which probably over-glamorised a doctor's life. but oh well, i love it anyhow.

then i start to fall in love with lotsa other doctor-related dramas, latest craze being Grey's Anatomy. juz bot season 2 frm yahoo. hoho~

i realli tot it's great 2b a doctor. u noe, to save lives / cure ppl. e sense of achievement wld have been unbelievable.

it wld a real meaningful job, like, real gratifying.

even tho a doctor's hrs mite be realli long, they'r losing slp for gd reasons rite? unlike auditors who work 90hrs a wk with e aim of... wat, delivering financial statements to investors promptly?? bah~

my team-in-charge told me: 'we save lives too. our audited financial statements lowers e occurrence of investors frm jumping off bldgs cuz their stocks crash due to fraud.' -_-

anyways, afterwards i realised i spent double e efforts on studying biology as compared to maths, but still fared so much worse in bio than in maths.

decided to choose wat im gd at, rather than wat i aspire 2b. stopped taking biology n thus forgoing my chance at trying out for med school.

not tat im regretting my choice, but juz wondering if my life wld have been better as Dr Chan. hehe~

oh well, i guess tats life.
