food fiesta!~

we drove (okay technically sissy was e oni one driving) around e island in a NESW fashion to savour all e famous local food!

participants of e 1st food fiesta in yr 2007! gorgeous qian, intellectual ray, funky lulu & bdae sissy. muahahaha~

e bdae boy was nice enough to drive to e other side of e island to pick me up. thx lehz. hoho~

we passed by "ah hood road" on our way, then we started to LOL at all e ridiculous names for e surname HOOD:

lame lahz, but we were highly entertained by ourselves. haha~

NORTH: CHOMP CHOMP!

it was a 3-step process at chomp chomp. 1st we ordered carrot cake frm e 1st stall at e corner..

i tot it was okay oni, but e rest said it was pretty gd tho. hmm~

step 2...

satay was fantastic! it's like 3 stalls away frm e carrot cake stall, chinese owner. there's pineapple in e satay sauce, damn nice lahz.

lastly...

e stingray was veriii niceeeee~~

lotsa meat, cooked juz right, fabulous chilli (albeit abit too spicy for me). yums!~

EAST: CHANGI!

we drove past tis carpark beside e hawker centre where ah guas are supposed to lurk at nite, but we saw none. wat luck~

anyways, we ordered tis bloody chinchow...

which tasted like plain water. -_- but heng it's e oni bad thing there.

at e last row of stalls there's 2 adjacent competing stalls tat sell almost identical things. we bought chicken cutlet hor fun frm e stall on e left...

(sorry sistas, messy hair abit hard to use photoshop to correct. haha~)

e chicken cutlet was great but i tot e hor fun wasnt. e rest had a wonderful time gobbling up e hor fun tho. hmmx2~

famous changi nasi!! ooohhhhhh it's damnnnnnn delicious!!~ chicken wing gd, otah gd, chilli gd gd gd! cheap too!

i wanna move to changi! slurp~

there are 3 nasi stalls there, we bot frm e stall w yellow signboard. according to sissy tat stall has e best nasi.

SOUTH-WEST: HAKIM RESTAURANT

okay i have no idea wat road hakim is at, nor how to get there. oni noe it's near harbourfront. betw kent ridge park n haw par villa.

but it's a 24-hr "restaurant" tat serves uber duper delish prata!~

see how huge e prata was?? my gargantuan cheese prata costs oni $1.50 n it was crispy with generous cheese inside! oooohh~~

highly enjoyable n fun outing, we juz kept joking n laughing in sissy's dad's veri retro toyota. let's make tis a bimonthly event eh, sistas?? hee~

as i have nth to do on sat morning, i guest appeared at tis tiny shooting competition - singapore universities meet. gd way to kill time, juz go there zo boh n kpo. haha~

saw e ex SMU air rifle club president n both ex presidents took a picture together...

then i told mz tat he (above) reminds me of e mammoth in sesame street, n mz said tats not a compliment lehz.

hong e hermit havent been taking a walk in e vibrant outside world for a long time, so i decided to bring her to ichiban boshi.

ting n zen both told me it's nice, n i tink likewise too.

my black pepper beef. comes along with alotta things: rice, miso soup, cold tofu, a few slices of sashimi, chawanmushi n watermelon.

hong's curry chicken with cheese. comes along with: rice, tempura, cold tofu n miso soup. yumyums!~

it was a super filling meal, n both our food add tog abt 40 bucks oni. affordable pricing, can go again! hee~

tis one is reco-ed by gen, said she tried it in KL n it was fantastic.

traditional hk iced yin yang. abit bland, not v nice. mayb e hot yin yang is nicer.

ooohhhhhh their thick toast with fragrant peanut butter spread n drenched in condensed milk~~~ heavenly!!~

zen's shanghai noodle with pork chop. e noodle is soft n soup is tasty. pretty healthy dish.

my mushroom rice with fish fried in egg!~ it's damnnnnn nice!~ fish is nice, rice is savoury n yummy!~

all e food costs oni $17 lehz, uber cheap. everyone shd go!~

tis old chang kee branch serves lunch!

curry stew, stuffed inside e bread. interesting horz? quite delish too. there's beef stew also, tastes pretty gd as well.

me n ting decided on visiting chinatown last wkend cuz i was so bored rotting at home n cuz we simply cant tink of anywhere else interesting (we even considered gg to e museum, seriously).

e visit was a total "walk n eat" session man. famous curry puffs, chilli fishballs, sesame paste, steam egg, ngoh hiang.. nice nice~

took some retro-looking photos. finally tried out my lumix's sepia mode. hehe~

abit off tho, e stupid india restaurant's signboard tat was behind me. hehz.

ting is not sepia-friendly, all her sepia shots sucks. so had to resort to b/w for e same wannabe retro sey. dint noe she'll look better w/o colours. LoL~

it's astonishing how 2 young girls (i insist tat we'r still young girls) can hang around in a place full of middle-age ppl for e whole nite sia. haha~

i customised my own charm necklace at tis accidental small shop in pearl centre!~

tink we were in tat shop for almost an hr lorz, heng tat uncle (plus ting) was v patient with me. hehe~

okayy it's not say damn gorgeous (it's kinda buddha-ish rather than victorian), cuz i wanna keep it w/in budget plus i was tired of e choosing n matching towards e end. but hey, at least it's def e oni one in e world. hoho~

tis blog's readership decreased recently, mayb cuz tis pathetic auditor who's gg thru peak now is barren of interesting blog ideas. anw, tis is yet another overdue post tat i did while slacking in office last mth..

i've been lamenting tat despite e increasing popularity of reality shows tat shoots laymen into stardom, i have no frens who are part of e action. none at all. no celeb frens. =(

BUT, one fine day, yul told me she somehow went to sign herself up for tis tiny singing competition (oni 8 contestants) at hark's music. n so all of us went to support her.

hark's music is a music sch cum pub place, nice ambience.

for no reason, once i reached there my tummy started to ache and i started to sneeze furiously. allergy to hark's music? haha~

seriously i've nv heard yul sing b4, until tat nite. she sang landy wen's 祝我生日快乐. great attempt, i muz say. *clapclap* LoL~
