bangkok day 2

us at e hotel lobby n tour van for e half day complimentary tour!

passed by e monument of democracy on our way to wat arun. heard tats e place where e recent thaksin protests took place.

as a show of respect to e king on his 60th yr of reign, e thais voluntarily wear yellow on mondays. quite impressive to see a sea of yellow, hard to find tis kinda patriotism in sg lorz.

outside e pier. i like e ctry feel, rare sight for city-dwellers like us.

e ferry to wat arun was such an 'exciting' ride. e ferry's v lok cok, no life jackets, not much railings to hold onto, n the river water's v choppy.

so it was actually quite daring of us to take tis photo, can fall into e river easily. e tour guide made e situation lagi pessimistic by telling us how a few sporeans died in a ferry accident there a few mths back. -_-

tats e actual name of bangkok. it's so long, e thais came up with a song to help rem it easier. "baang-gok", e actual pronounciation of e place, means fruit plantation in thai i tink.

e tour guide said every king's palace muz have a temple, therefore wat arun acts like cheng ho temple. cheng ho somehow became e 1st king of tis current kingdom btw.

as cheng ho was chinese, there was alotta 'chee-na' stuffs in e temple.

grp photo! initially it was juz yul n me gg on tis trip, then yul's mum wanted to tag along, n then yul's da yi tagged along.......

nx stop, grand palace! v near wat arun.

angmohs totally dig tat place, it's swamped with angmohs lorz. gosh~

anywayz im wearing tat ugly rented shirt cuz visitors aint allowed sleeveless tops. shorts are oso not allowed, but capris are fine. any footwear's fine too.

heard tats e place where they filmed 'anna and the king'. bottom is e place where anna supposedly taught chulalongkorn's kids.

outside e emerald buddha. i was oso blessing yul but frm e angle cant oni see yul blessing me. haha~

tat bldg at e bottom was actually built under british influence, e thai roof was added on later to signify tat e thais have not forgotten their roots n tat e thais are always superior to e west. so smart sia.

tat poor guard was specially stationed there to take photo with tourists lorz, so ke lian. but he's actually lookin at e cam. pengz~

then we head down to nearby chinatown..

all chinatowns look e same horz, e ones in new york n philadelphia oso look like tat.

we had sharks' fin, fish maw soup n seafood beehoon at some chinese restaurant, but oni e beehoon is nice. mayb tats why so cheap. hehz~

then we walked around the wholesale shops in chinatown..

quite interesting lehz, their stuffs are v messy but cheap. bkk visitors shd spend more time on these exotic places than their shopping centres which are no diff frm ours.

i was super amused by their traffic officers' uniform, so tight sia. wonder if they have difficulties breathing. n the pants-in-boots thingy, woo~ LoL~

walked till our legs cant take us further, we retreated back to our hotel in e evening.

us while waiting for ah cai gorgor to take us for massage! super act cute. haha~

healthland is a gd place to go for high quality massage. n it's oni 250B for 2hrs' of massage, courtesy of ah cai gorgor! bloody cheap n ultra shiok! awww~

right after e very soothing massage, we went straight back n concussed soundly. hee~

dreamy princes~

juz completed Goong - Princess Hours n im absolutely crazy over it!

i like e setting, perfect blend of traditional korean palace n the lead characters' victorian dressing n the modern day backgrd. towards e end e story got abit rambling, however, n the ending din rise to my expectations.

but nvm, there'r gorgeous boys to make up for it! they'r both sooooo gd-looking i cant decide who i prefer (oh man, i sound like xiaxue) !!!

there's e crown prince, lee shin. i love....

1) how multi-faceted he appears: melancholy n mysterious when he doesnt smile, cheery n dazzling when he smiles. soooo attractive!
2) tat he's even taller than rain, 187cm n still not suffering frm hunchback.
3) tat his birthday is juz a day b4 mine! but he's 1982 de lahz.

4) how he made hugging a teddy bear an ultra adorable act for a guy.
5) tat he oso has big-small eyes, like me! but his is more serious lahz, a single/double eyelid problem while mine's double/triple eyelid.

6) tat he can always carry off weird clothes stylishly. i like stylish guys~
7) how his every move is effortlessly elegant n graceful.
8) his bad boy sey~ ooohhh~

actor's name is joo ji hoon btw. heart!

prince no. 2 is lee yul (kim jeong hoon). i love....

1) his hair! prefer it in gold tho.
2) e way he wears earrings on both ears, looks damn gd!
3) e way he wears his signature necklace. tink it became a hot merchandise afterwards.

4) how soft n gentle his eyes always look, can juz melt in em lorz. hehe~
5) his devotion to his love in the drama, perfect beau lehz.
6) his baby face. doesnt look like a 26-yr-old at all lorz, such a kawaii boy!

7) how pleasant n harmless he always look, feel like sayang-ing him lorz.
8) how extremely cuteeeeee he looks when he laughs!
9) tat he sings in jap too! check out his latest jap album, 5 stella lights!

someone tell me where can i buy a kim jeong hoon?? awww~

now, are u spoilt for choice too? which do u prefer?? LoL~

i heart bangkok!

(did u realise tat e nx ctry all e flowers happened to visit after US is thailand?? so qiao! hee~)

n so we woke up at 5am in e morn to catch our 715am flight. after checking in, me n yul went macs for bfast.

e skies were still dark lorz, damn early.

e realli budget air tix n our budget airplane. gd thing is jetstar frowns upon free seating. hoho~

i was immensely amused by how small e plane is. once i stepped into e cabin, e cockpit was juz nx to me, can see e pilots getting ready for takeoff.

jetstar was fine, comfy enough. but departure was delayed for almost 30min over at suvarnabhumi airport when we came back.

we'r at bangkok!! heart! (SGD 1 = 23 baht)

tats their new terminal, much better than e old one. i find strong resemblance betw their passport ctrl n JFK's, no?

bangkok's version of billboard. reminded me of uncle sam too.

asia hotel, abit lousy for a 4-star hotel. but e skytrain station is right outside n it's juz 1 stop away frm all e main shopping centres.

then we went over to siam paragon's food court for a quick lunch..

thai fish noodle soup, v cheap. e taste is ok, but serving too small. aiya all their food servings damn small lahz.

chatuchak, e reason why we chose such an early flight!

e nite b4 i read news abt some ctc stalls kena wrecked, heng they recovered damn fast, everything was opened again when i was there e nx day.

specially geared up for e heat at ctc, but it turned out 2b not as hot as i expected, which is gd.

there's realli all sorts of things there, ornamental fish, souvenirs, furnitures, clothes, student baskers, etc. i love it there lehz, alotta things to see. n cheap!

even baby pets! soooo cute! tat pup gnawed on my hand btw, my hand looks like bone mehz? hehz~

we oso tried some roadside food..

tastes like chendol, quite nice. yul was so focused on snapping e photo tat she din even notice e drip until it got all over my stuffs. -_-

when it was 6pm at ctc, everybody juz stood still to show respect as their national anthem is being played on e radio. how cool is tat, wont ever happen in sg lorz.

yul has a cousin who's working in bangkok (even tho she doesnt even noe), n at nite he brought us around.

tats how fast his chauffeur was driving. 130km/h n he is still having gd ctrl of e vehicle, li hai.

yul's cousin (affectionately nicked "ah cai gor gor" *shivers*) has like 4 company drivers aka chauffeurs (!!), so we machiam had free local tour guides lidat. tink e 130km/h tour guide has a crush on us lehz. haha~

somboon seafood supposedly has e best tom yum goong in bkk, not bad. crabs were so-so, but oyster omelette was great! 6 person oni 1700B, thx ah cai gor gor! hee~

bustling patpong!

sleazy red light district with a small nite mkt. e tiffany stuffs started off with 3000B, then dropped to 2000B, then deal at 300B. -_-

oh! e patpong "lah-saap bars" had their doors wide open, can see bikini-clad pole dancers wriggling frm outside e door lorz! omg~

suan lum nite mkt! it's like nite version of ctc, as huge, but cleaner n tidier. bot a nice 320B dress there, heart!

then e lot of us visited e cousin's hse. omg, e whole affluent area is like 5x bigger than sixth ave, all occupied by big-shots, n there's security saluting u at e gate! gosh~

authentic minerals! frm top: raw iron, some precious metal used for space craft n raw aluminium.

e cousin is a director of a thai mining co. how many sporeans are in e MINING industry?? n i actually noe one of em, how cool is tat!

my legs were aching mad, but it was alot of ground covered on day 1, super fulfilling! =)))

5) asked client abt e missing vouchers but she kept saying "i donno" cuz she's new
6) bloody superior of client oso kept bloodily tell me "i donno"

females in power

im back! apologies for e neglect, been gg out lately. bangkok was fun! more on it later, tons of photos n things to talk abt, muz slowly sort out. anyways..

despite all tat talk abt equality betw e sexes in e west (or rather, in US) since decades ago, i still have yet to see much females holding major political power in the west.

e most famous girl power leaders were hillary clinton n condoleeza rice, n they've oni "risen to power" recently. n they'r not holding ultimate power (yet) tho.

(btw, can u believe tat rice is in her early 50s n hil is almost 60?? omg~)

whereas in e east, where women are traditionally known 2b inferior to men, we have female presidents like arroyo of philippines n megawati of indonesia..

(okayy let's overlook e parts where megawati got defeated in e subsequent elections n arroyo nearly got overthrown)

n tho i hate to admit..

vice president of taiwan, annette lu hsiu-lien.

(seriously i tink she looks no diff frm e aunties at my void deck, but oh well, i shall give it to her on e account tat she obtained a degree frm harvard)

plus, there were reports alleging tat e no. of female appointees plunge under bush administration.

hmmm, uncle bush doesnt like girls to fight for rice bowl with him? LoL~

also, there were some ppl rooting for her 2b e nx US president too..

ohhhhh, i wld love to see e sexiest bomb alive taking up e most powerful role in e world. she n her man wld most definitely be e hottest presidential couple alive ever. hohoho~

alrighty, enough of blabber for now. i shall continue sorting out my bangkok trip photos!
