e new hall 3!

okay i noe tis is such an out-dated post, been saying i wanna blog abt e new hall 3 since centuries ago. oh well, now everybody noes im a huge procrastinator. haha~

anywayz, e new hall 3 is damn cool! so much cooler than e old lok cok hall 3 bldgs.. (grabbed all photos frm e hall 3 website btw)

juz look at e driveway into e new hall, so posh!

e outer appearance of e residential bldg itself is not v impressive tho. heard e metal grills outside e windows have attracted alotta "spidery" burglars, a veri dumb design. but other than tat e new hall 3's realli quite cool. for example, see the comm hall..

nice horz, frm e outside?

on e inside it's quite plain lorz, a simple spacious hall. looks abit like NJC's hall, but smaller.

no idea which part of hall 3 tat is, prob outside e comm hall. veri nice, machiam like condo lidat.

e inside of a double room, veri nice horz? big glass windows complete with curtains, realli like condo sia.

i like all e wooden furniture, e tables are so big!~

but e single rooms are damn small, super cramp.

not much space for a tv even. tho tis is prob e size of most single rooms in other halls, it's small to hall3ians cuz e single rooms in e old hall 3 were so much more spacious.

e residential bldgs are abt 6 or 7 storeys high, accessible thru elevators. n there're linkways in e middle storeys to connect betw bldgs. nice idea~

there's also this space on e rooftop, where hall3ians can have their bbq n play with fireworks, etc.

e new canteen 3 is oso quite cool, circular-shaped food court style. veri surprisingly colourful too. but no photos, sorry.

oh, all hall3 residents haf 2 cards. one card is to open e main door to e bldg, e other is to open their own room's door. e main door tapz is for security purpose, tho tat purpose is kinda defeated cuz ppl can juz climb in thru e metal grills outside e window. -_-

i noe i noe, e new hall 3 is kinda like none of my biz cuz i've alr moved outta hall 3, but i hung out at e new hall 3 for a few times mahz. mostly to disturb ah xue n to eat e zhu chao in e canteen lahz. haha~

wanted to go take photo wif e new hall 3 during convo, but it's abit far n ya, im kinda not related to e new hall 3.

realised i din take any photo of e old hall 3 b4 i moved out, wasted sia. oni found tis tiny banner-photo of e old hall 3 bldg frm e website. i rem i took a photo of my room b4 i moved out lehz, but cant seem to find it. haiz~

hall 3 was where i had many memories. hope it'll still continue as a fun n happening hall tat it has alwayz been. bye, hall 3~

got rise got fall

a relative of mine is gg 2b declared bankrupt. i heard all his property wld be confiscated by e bank/s in 2 wks' time. he's been tryin to stash his stuffs in other ppl's hse, n my hse is bestowed e 'honour' of temporarily sheltering his washing machine. hmmm~

i nv had any likings towards tis passé big boss, alwayz tot he's too full of himself. n most imptly, he's alwayz damn mean to his wife. i heard he accused his wife for jinxing him to his impending bankruptcy, spewing harsh nonsense like 'if u wanna walk out on me, be my guest. but i demand tat u leave e kids behind.' wtf~

how can anyone treat his wife tis way, his wife who's been thru thick n thin wif him without any complains. frm when his stupid biz juz started out arduously, to getting increasingly affluent, n now tat he's gg bust.

when situations arise, e most impt thing is to solve them, not to find innocent scapegoats to shove all e blame onto. obviously tis big boss has absolutely no concept of crisis mgmt, a plausible explanation for his downfall.

on e account of his wife, im not gonna sneer at his current predicament. his wife has been more than nice to me since i was a kid, my darling aunt. feeling so sorry for wat she's gg thru right now, i juz wish he wld tide over tis crisis asap so tat his wife n kids wld have less to endure.

1st prize!

watched lost this afternoon, n it's e episode on hurly (e big guy). in e show, he won 1st prize in lottery, US$156m lorz.

if i won 1st prize in lottery now, i would...
- repay all my loans
- change to a super cool pair of glasses
- purchase 2 years' supply of focus dailies
- get a new camera with lotsa memory
- buy myself n ting air tickets to new york (see, im so nice to ting! haha)
- visit adventure pier n see how things are after we left (since we'r both so zo boh now)
- tour e big apple again with e ecuadorians (they'r gg later tis wk i tink.. oh but they have their new gfs to go with em huh.. hee~)
- fly to orlando n visit disneyland & universal studios (lulu said their roller coasters are fabulous)
- come back sg on 23 Sep (2 days b4 i start work)

these are abit trivial but these are wat i wan right now! last wkend e 4D number i bet on din come out tho.. haiz~

e more i post on bigapple, e more i wish i could go back to those carefree days where e aim was to have fun everyday lorz. machiam like addicted to subutex lidat.

dreamt of e dearest ecuadorians n US days a few times alr, literally. no wonder ting said she's gonna bring me to rehab. haha~

yul reco me gloria jean's scones when i visited her in brisbane last yr, n i've been missing those scones ever since.

miss em no more, cuz gloria jean's is here in singapore! yay!~

btw, gloria jean's is everywhere in brisbane, it's equivalent to starbucks in new york city.

nice lil corner they have in e newly revamped raffles city marketplace, nice deco n all..

all of us had their scones (took e ones with raisins since they cost e same), n they taste as yummy as those in brisbane! it comes with butter n jam..

i oso ordered their chilled cappuccino, while ting tried their chilled latte. both are nice nice~~

hi freshies

yester's heritage walk was part of ur freshmen orientation events. e event's aim was to, well, let all of u get to noe some of ur nan-tah heritage.

let me xplain e rules to u: e heritage walk involved 6 stations at various parts of e sch. freshies were to go to e stations to collect info abt e sch, then return to e headquarters to ans some qns. e team wif e highest pts won themselves a pair of ipod nanos.

n tis yr, e sch employed me to be ur station marshals (really gd money, tho i spent most of it alr), tog wif ting n shaohua...

our station was at e newly done school of arts, design & media (ADM). veri veri pretty place..

we reached e station early n felt bored, thus began to explore e school. lemme show u freshies around..

since u'r new to NTU, i shall fill u in on ADM's famous rooftop garden..

interesting concept, but personally i feel it's somehow weird tat e garden slopes all e way frm e roof down to ground level. oh, e garden supposedly cld lower e temperature inside e bldg or sth.

oh no! so steep, will we fall down e grassy slope???

chey, there's steps down lahz. architects are not dumb lorz. haha~

ting n shaohua looked like hollywood celebs caught having a rendezvous. LoL~

since we'r in an art sch, we muz take artistic photos..

e artroom thru e doors' gaps. hohoho~

okay actually it's cuz there's no other souls in e new sch to help us snap grp photo (too new, classes not fully opened yet). haha~

after awhile, u freshies still havent arrive at our station, so we got real bored n took some bo liao photos..

finally e game started n u freshies started to come in. our job was simply to put a verification stamp on ur handbooks..

we experimented n calculated n concluded tat ting was e most popular among us, majority of u preferred to go to her for e stamp instead of me n shaohua. me n shaohua don mind, actually, cuz then we can slack more. hee~

e game lasted 3hrs, but we werent busy at all. most of e time we were slacking. i told u it's gd money! hohoho~

im sure u knew abt e lucky draw at e end of e heritage walk, there's xbox 360 n NEC laptops lorz. ur senior (me) oso wan. u lucky kids!

ur senior (me) nv had such fun day in sch in awhile, all while being paid somemore! hope u guyz had fun too! =)

OMG~

tis afternoon i juz blogged abt e uncle at bbdc who wanted to "borrow" my debit card, then later in the evening i realised my debit card is missing! freakkkkkkkkkkk lahz!~

okay i don tink tat uncle's behind this, cuz tat bbdc incident took place last thu. think it's prob cuz i forgot to retrieve my card frm e machine when i was depositing cash yester. haiz~

tat bank account of mine hasnt been misused, thankfully. but it's like some perverse form of retribution lahz. sianz~

sorry, uncle

i was at e automated top up machine in bbdc when tis uncle came up to me n asked me if i cld help him top up his account using my NETS cuz he din have his card with him. without giving much thought to it, i obliged.

but e uncle din noe how much he needed to top up, so he asked me to wait for him at the machine while he asks the customer service lady. while waiting for him, i began to think...

"it's my debit card lehz, can easily misuse it lorz. better not."

so i pretended to walk away, to the bbdc canteen. n lucky for me but unlucky for e uncle, e bbdc shuttle bus arrived shortly. i hopped on e bus n left, without even looking back.

-_- oops, i did it again.

seems like im realli back into e singaporean ways huh, e helpfulness of new yorkers obviously did not rub off on me. hehz~

1) NTU ARC's AGM - hey at least im alr at my last pg okayy... haha~
2) watch da chang jin - wld be a challenge, 70+ episodes. i foresee myself dying of boredom halfway thru.
3) watch lost season 1 - season ended so long ago yet i've not seen it, muz see wats all e hype abt.
4) finish desperate housewives season 2 - watched it on ch5 till i left for US, wanna finish it..
5) watch devil beside u - been longing to watch e perfect bad boy since forever! haha~
6) watch it started with a kiss - another taiwan idol drama tat i've been wanting to watch..
7) organise n develop brisbane photos - tu for a yr alr, muz get it done.
8) develop convocation photos
9) develop zenith photos
10) backup all photos n songs in my laptop
11）do odd jobs to earn abit of $$ - to sustain my spending till my 1st pwc paycheck comes in.
12) pass final theory driving test - managed to book a test date on 21 sep, muz pass!
13) complete all pwc pre-commencement forms n procedures - shall be done tmr
14) pack my room - e part where alotta procrastination comes into play.. hehe~
15) read da vinci code - so far it's been quite interesting. wanna see wats e hype abt it oso.
16) read killing plato - yul gave it to me as bdae gift tis yr but there's no chance for me to even read a chapter of it during my stay in US..
17) cycle more - else will gain weight, been eating n sitting alot cuz there's nth else to do.
18) practise pilates more - straighter backbone, flatter tummy! hee~
19) visit NJC - heard it chged alot, wanna go see..
20) sell textbooks - selling Financial Acctg Theory by Scotts, Strategic Management text & cases, and A Long Road Ahead by Lim Chong Yah. if interested, pls contact me! hee~

wat a coincidence

happie belated national day!

in an attempt to make national day interesting, i proposed tis silly rule tat everybody muz wear red and/or white. n everybody sportingly abide by e rules!

it's pure coincidence tat e tiles are oso red and white btw. i was e oni person in red AND white, n i felt silly cuz all e ppl i saw on e streets wearing red AND white are aunties n uncles. -_-

me n mz tied, e winners. we practically sucked all of lam n ah pad's chips lahz. see, if i nv mj in my own room i'll win! wth~

we wanted to go marina south for steamboat after mj, but chged our mind upon seeing e jam at e marina south expressway exit. every1's there to see e fireworks display.

singaporeans are realli pathetic, e ctry is so small, they have not much places to go. one fireworks display n half e population will cheong there. ting was right to wish 新加坡快高长大. haiz~

anywayz, we went bugis for steamboat instead. parklane deli house...

initially wanted to try their porridge-based steamboat, budden we realised v few guests there ordered tat. so we ordered tom yam + chicken.

food, glorious food! e soups are not bad, quite nice. but yul say they use e same knife to cut e meats, making e soup taste of mutton oso (yul dislikes mutton). e rest of us have broken taste buds, cant taste mutton at all. haha~

we ordered cold steamed milk egg, honeydew sago n aloe vera with honey/lime. e steamed egg is v nice, e rest were juz so-so. nx time wanna go back try warm steamed milk egg.

happie belated bdae, singapore. tho i nv watch ndp nor hang e sg flag, at least i wore red & white for u. thx for making national day a holiday n hence i can have such a fun day tho. hehe~

getting used to...

- seeing more asians than angmohs on e roads
- lowered eye levels (angmohs are taller than asians of cuz)
- taking e mrt instead of e subway
- tapping e ezlink card instead of swiping e metrocard
- squeaky clean mrt stations instead of filthy subway stations
- not needing to look at maps when walking around
- shorter daylight (dawn n dusk at 530am n 830pm respectively in e new york area)
- e inability to use chinese to criticise ppl in their face without em knowing tat im criticising em
- slpin alone in e room (had been sharing a room with 2 other crazy gals for e past 2.5mths)
- not needing to scream at dar every morn till she wakes up (arlow 起来了!!!!)
- looking right-left-right instead of left-right-left b4 crossing e road
- crossing e road at green man instead of white man
- fastening pace upon blinking green man instead of blinking orange palm
- writing my surname 1st instead of last
- writing DDMMYY instead of MMDDYY
- using 2 ply toilet paper (toilet paper in e states are usually 1 ply oni)
- squatting water closets (all i came across were sitting toilet bowls in e states)
- speaking singlish instead of fake american english
- not having ppl ask me if im frm china
- not having to stand/walk 12 hrs everyday
- not needing to go under e sun for long hours (thx PAP for all e covered walkways n trees!)
- not having ppl to fight wif me everyday
- not having ppl to poke me everyday
- not having ppl to lift me up cuz im juz "so small" (hehz)
- gg home without unknown bruises n scrapes (see this)
- not having to walk at least 15min to get to somewhere "near"
- buying american brands at much higher prices
- having lesser varieties of things to choose frm when shopping
- always going to e same places (orchard road thrice in 1 week, hehz)
- leading aimless n super zo boh days (sooo bored!!)
- listening to chinese songs
- eating lousy salads (most salads are gd in e states)
- frens saying hi without hugs n kisses
- clubbing on wednesdays instead of thursdays
- blahblahblah...

despite all these, tink i've reverted back to e sporean ways alr. pretty surprised by how fast i balik got used to e sporean ways oso. even lost my fake american accent lorz. haha~

anyways, tink insomnia is leaving me for gd. body clock's more or less back to normal. now i juz hafta try waking up earlier. hee~

can someone tell me fullerton is a how many star hotel? i din noe it's so damn high class lahz, me n ting were so stunned when e doorman opened e cab door for us. haha~

btw, e disappointing 8-course dinner was served by tung lok, e mini pageant was won by a predictable winner, lucky draw prizes were not excellent (juz ask ting) n e emcee failed to make e guests participate actively in e silly games. but e ambience was veri nice lahz.

after e ball ended, we went harry's to chill...

tats when rong had her 1st alcoholic drink, hope we din cause her to turn into an alcohol addict. haha~

gen abandoned our mango margarita for lychee martini, hence there shall be no photo of her at harry's. bleahz~

so tat summed up my NTU life, with a bam of glam (ok it's doesnt sound technically correct, but it sounds gd can). best wishes to NBS class of 2006! =)
