i tot e movie was pretty nice... but one thing in e show tat disturbed me greatly is tat e man sayuri loves is so much older than her.

when she's 9 yr old tat man is already a successful chairman. n i presumed tat e chairman had been noticing (romantically) sayuri since she's 9.

i noe he's successful n charismatic n all...

but he is realli kinda old for her.

they look like father n daughter together lorz.

i was accusing e writer of having paedophilic inclinations, but uncle doug told me his own intepretation of e story: e chairman initially oni wanted sayuri to have a better life (not in e romantic sense) by grooming her into a geisha, then he fell for her gradually as sayuri grows older.

tat intepretation makes better sense than my own, since it's post-war when e chairman n sayuri finally got together (u noe ppl went thru alot during wartimes n they mature prematurely).

so, i guess e writer does not have paedophilic inclinations afterall.

oh well, congrats to ya both. i like happy endings.

let me gush abt e ladies in e show. they are all so pretty n attractive! despite being middle-aged, michelle yeoh n gong li both look gorgeous!

michelle yeoh is tis goody-two-shoes mameha in e show, e benefactor of sayuri. quite a pleasant character.

gong li is e evil hatsumomo, sayuri's nemesis. muz say tat she's realli gd at being a mean girl. veri eye-catching.

as for e main lead... i juz find her v attractive. she's not e super gorgeous kinda lady, but she's definitely turning my head with her (artificial) blue-grey eyes.

also, i like e japanese feel in e movie.

heard e movie's a lil different frm e book, but i tink e movie's pretty watch-able. juz heck e traitor issue n enjoy e entertainment lahz huh...

everybody said im a kid when i told em tat my fav holiday is cny. im not a kid, n my love for cny is profound.

i mean... how many times in a yr can u see red & gold deco everywhere? how many times in a yr can u hear cny songs everywhere??

they were ubiquitous when i went to e cny market in chinatown last wk...

n e cny market will oni be there for... a month?

juz love visiting chinatown during e cny period, e whole place is all so 喜气洋洋. tat atmosphere is so pleasant, i like. tats why every yr i go there at least once during e cny period, juz to experience e cny "feel".

n today i went to get more cny goodies with my mum.

n not to forget... cny clothes!

yes i realised it's all pink n green, unintentionally... hehe~

e gaudy red & gold deco, orbiang cny songs, yummy cny goodies, generous (?) ang pows, hectic spring cleaning, tiring cny shopping, donning of pretty new cny clothes, etc etc etc... i like.

i like seeing everybody smiling on cny, i like greeting ppl with auspicious cny phrases, i like it when nobody can be angry or swear on cny, i like it when everybody's house is all spruced up n nicely decorated for cny.

i like being chinese, i like celebrating traditional chinese festival, i like e chinese culture n chinese ways. n i don mind having yellow skin. hehe~

belated bdae post

on a completely irrelevant note to e previous post, last mon we went holland village to celebrate sissy's 22nd bdae. sissy was so much more excited abt his 22nd bdae than his 21st bdae. are sissys all weird ppl?? haha~

we wanted to play bridge in coffee club but coffee club doesnt allow any form of card games in their premises. then we wanted to leave n head for some other place where we can play bridge, but our orders came b4 we cld cancel it. -_-

we were pretty annoyed by tat bdae request but a discussion nevertheless still ensued...

i tot tat was such a great ploy, but it wasnt executed in e end. hehz~

when sissy took e above photo, he was saying "ready, 1, 2, 3" to his presents. i din noe non living things needa pose n get ready for e camera. haha~

ray cldnt find a nice pink t-shirt, so in e end he bought heeren vouchers for sissy instead. lulu bought him a pink fortune cat which is supposed to make sissy lucky in finding love. i bought him vcd, his fav white tower.

lulu ordered a very exotic drink, irish coffee. it's supposed to be coffee but it tasted super alcoholic. obviously she didnt like it.

was tryin to take a photo of my newly dyed hair. it's supposed to be loreal nude gold, a different colour from my previous dye, but it came out roughly e same shade as my old colour. im so destined to have tat shade of brown.

but at least it's obvious tat i've coloured my hair. wats e pt of getting ur hair dyed but nobody can tell tat u've coloured ur hair?? =P

2) cute tutor no more!~ so angryyyyyy!~ was feeling excited over having a cute ang moh tutor (he looks like josh hartnett) for my strategic management class lorz, huge motivation to attend 830 tutorial. but i juz received an email yester informing me of e chg of instructor for tat class! to a lady tutor (who doesnt look like jennifer love hewitt at all)... sianz~

man, my (ex) tutor realli looks abit like him. sian sian sianz~

im tryin to grab hold of my cute (ex) tutor's pic, if i managed to get then i'll upload it. hehe~

sweet dream?

i was craving for durians recently cuz there's pasar malam near my hse n whenever i walk past im seduced by e durian smell.

kept asking my mum to buy (cuz she's e durian expert cum my money tree), but she refused cuz she claimed tat e durians will not be tasty due to e recent rainy season. apparently e weather affects e taste of durians.

but yesternite i had a chance to satisfy my durian cravings, in my dream...

i dreamt tat i was at my ah ma's hse, feeling hungry. so i asked my ah ma if there's anything to eat, n she said, 'there's durian in e fridge, go n get it on your own'.

e delirium of finally being able to savour e tastiness of e durian can still be felt even now.

juz when i was abt to sink my teeth into e creamy n fragrant durian flesh, my alarm clock rang.

dammit. -_-

friday e 13th

i wasnt v suay todae:

1) cant find e seminar room where im supposed to have lessons
2) met e focker n he din pick on me for missing last wk's lesson
3) waited 40min b4 i cld board 179 cuz it was juz so crowded (guess tats e main difference bet stayin hall n stayin hm)
4) had to rain cats & dogs when i was waiting for e stupid 179 at e bus stop

recalling another much more unlucky friday e 13th, when i was in jc1...

event: jc class outing
venue: east coast park
date: friday e 13th 2001 (coincidentally, it was some pub hol oso)

suay event no. 1

apparently, nobody knew how to get to east coast park (cuz all of us were "westerners"), oni mr ber roughly knew how to get there. so being e nice guy he is, he offered to lead us there.

east coast park is beside e ECP. n to avoid e ECP, our thoughtful government built underpass for e heartlanders. (e underpass is under e ECP, if u noe wat i mean)

but mr ber din rem where e underpass is, so he suggested crossing e expressway instead.

imagine e above to be east coast parkway, with lotsa high speed cars zooming by. (i noe e pic is abit ugly, but tats e best tat i can do) e black stick men represents me n my jc classmates, treading fearfully along e narrow pathways beside e carriageways. n guess wats e stationary vehicle at pt X??

a police car.

e policemen were patiently waiting for us to cross over to their side b4 approaching us. they checked all our ic. after confirming tat we were juz naive students, they let us off with juz a warning. phew~

tat shd be e luckiest thing tat day. but tat was e most life-threatening thing i ever did in my life man. my god, crossing e ECP when there was traffic! mayb mediacorp can consider performing tis stunt for their nx charity show...

suay event no. 2

we finally reached east coast park n started having some fun. juz when i tot there'll be no more suay event le, i felt sth dropped onto my head...

bird shit.

my god. i tot such things oni happen in tv. wth. it was gross lahz, i cheong-ed to macdonald's to wash e digusting thing away...

suay event no. 3

a few of us went cycling while e rest went rollerblading. we cycled as a group, but was careful not to cycle too closely to each other. then mr zhihong suddenly tried to overtake mr ber n another classmate by squeezing thru e gap in between em.

yep, a collision took place nx. mr zhihong literally flew frm his bicycle n slided across e granite bicycle path, landing a few metres away frm e pt of collision. he had like 10+ abrasions all over his body n had to be sent to a clinic. fortunately, he was e oni one injured.

suay event no. 4

while we were helping zhihong wash his multiple abrasions, we received a call frm e rollerblading gang...

junyu had a fall while rollerblading n fractured his elbow.

so zhihong had junyu as company to e clinic. -_-

there, class S2C during e 1st 3mths. tat friday e 13th was suay to us in a collective way, but after tat fateful day e class bond got better, so i guess it was a blessing in disguise huh.

Ans: cuz im gonna "meet the focker" (my tutor's surname is fock... realli!) tmr. I heard tat reading financial papers is a must b4 attending the focker's class, as he'll alwayz shoot qns abt e recent financial issues at his students. so i picked up a free copy of The Financial Times in sch n read it todae...

but i was lulled to slp by it b4 i even finished reading half e paper. hehe~

rain

did i mention tat i love the rain? unlike how e ancient poets say e rain makes ppl feel dull n gloomy, im actually cheered by rainy days. i like e "feel" rainy days give, n how cooling rainy days made singapore become.

i mean... how many times can e singapore weather be 25 degree celsius? tats like e temperature i set for e air conditioner in my room lorz...

no, i dont like cold weather. i hated it when it was 10 degree celsius in brisbane tis july when i visited, it was so freezing cold tat i don feel like touring e place.

but i like cool weather, e kinda weather where ppl don have to wear jackets, oso e kinda weather where ppl wun sweat after 10mins of walk outdoors.

i don get why ppl alwayz say they cant study on rainy days, i nv get drowsy cuz it's raining outside. lotsa ppl used e rain as an excuse to cancel their tuition n their dates, lotsa ppl stayed home cuz it's drizzling e whole day, but i, on e contrary, wld wanna go out cuz it's juz such a nice n romantic weather to take a walk outside.

but im stuck at home todae (a rainy day), cuz my mj session was cancelled last min (stupid ykai, u used e rain as excuse oso??). haiz~ recently my frens kept cancelling on me eh? hehz~

for hall 3

tis is a lil late, cuz i moved out for 1+ mth already... but since i'm feeling so free on a saturday (wanted to start studying but fell aslp after e 5th pg of SM text), so i decided to write a "tribute" for hall3...

stayed in hall3 for 2.5yrs, in tis wing (floor) called 'fantasy aisle'... for my 1st yr, i shared room 369 with 2 roomies. hong meimei was my 1st roomie, but she moved out b4 sem 1 exams... everyone said she's chased out by me, but by now i guess everybody wld have known tats not true lahz... we still love each other alot. haha~ (i do have a photo of hong meimei n me when we were roomies, but it's too ugly to post... hehe~)

then after tat ah xue moved in with me. fate is an interesting thing, i oni knew ah xue when i moved into fantasy aisle, but we hit it off rightaway n became gd roomies for the rest of e yr. i mean, how many ppl in e world can share a room amiably with a person u've juz known for 2mths? ah xue n me became known as e 369 duo since then, cuz they said we both look like ah lians... hehz~

anywayz... as freshies to hall3, hong n me attended hall orientation camp n it was pretty fun.

hohoho~ hong u still rem tis?? all of us look so juvenile at tat time man... tis was e 1st day of orientation, n everybody said i was v dao at tat time... lemme say tis again, it's not exactly my fault tat i look dao when i don smile, n i cant be smiling 24X7 oso...

"monster hunt" nite... supposedly to be thrillingly scary, but we din get to complete the "hunt" cuz of e rain. wat a pity.

supposed to do afew water sports n play a few beach games in east coast park as part of the orientation program, but i siamed all those cuz e beach gave me skin allergy. hey im not bluffing, it's true okayy... e seawater n sand make me itched n had rashes all over... my skin is damn sensitive, buey tahan... hehz~

throughout my hall3 life, i oso participated in some of its activities...

popiah fiesta! was in e welfare subcomm when i was a freshie, so gotta help out in preparing e ingredients for popiah fiesta... it was quite fun working with fellow welfare subcommers. if im not wrong popiah fiesta was done away with tis yr n replaced by some other food fiesta...

midnite fiesta! (why all hall3's activities are fiestas?? haha~) quite fun oso, went chinatown to walk e cny mkt, then head off to geylang for supper. but e bad thing is nx day i had class at 830am...

i tink im quite a gd hall3ian lehz, participated in some of hall3's activities n went to all 3 Dinner & Dance... im surprised by my on-ness... haha~

DnD '03/04 @ Igor's. every OG muz have a theme, forgot wat exactly was my OG's theme tat yr, but we all wore black n sprayed farnie silver-ish thingy on our hair...

those guyz are e seniors frm my brother wing, mad ppl with lotsa crazy ideas. evidence of their madness in e above photo.

DnD '04/05 @ Mandarin Hotel. my OG's theme was legally blonde, tats why everybody were in pink... quite an interesting theme, was surprised e guyz agreed to it tho. tis was like e most interesting theme my OG ever had. i like tis batch of jrs alot. tho they alwayz tease me n laugh at me, but i get along v well with em... even much better than ppl frm my yr...

DnD '05/06 @ Singapore Yacht Club. e view there is gorgeous lahz, supeR gorgeous. if there's a chance everybody muz go there n take a look...

my OG's theme went back to all black again, so much for originality. hehz~

these are e tickets for all e 3 DnDs tat i've attended, im surprised tat i kept all of em. is there a "best hall3ian award" for me?? haha~

tis was my door number in hall3 for e remaining 1.5yrs... single room wor... but nth great lahz, there's lotsa single rooms in e old hall3 so it's not exactly veri difficult to get a single room.

e inside of my room juz b4 i moved out. alotta ppl said i have e neatest room in fantasy aisle okayy... but when i took tis photo my room was vv dirty n messy, cuz i was packing my room n getting ready to move out le mahz... i had a small but cosy room. hehe~

when i was in yr1 i said i'll move out at e end of yr1, when i was in yr2 i said i'll move out at e end of yr2, but i nv did. then at e beginning of tis yr i said i'll move out when hall3 moves, but nobody took my words for real. then i reaLLy moved out. haha~

gd thing i moved out, cuz hall3 is facing so much conflicts with e sch over e issue of moving and of e hostel fee hike. plus, i needa save lotsa $$ for my trip to USA.

everybody: why are u staying in hall when u live sooo near sch?

me: cuz it's fun n i can fully experience uni life!

all undergrads shd stay hall for at least a sem throughout their uni life, n when stayin in hall they shd participate in hall activities. it'll be a great experience lahz, wun regret de. muz enjoy e last phase of student life mahz, there will be no chance to do so after graduating. those ppl staying in hall but alwayz hole up in e room n nv join any hall activities, u donno watcha missing man. hehe~

my "blood-sucking fren" wld like to clarify tat it's a 5 carats tiffany ring for engagement, and a 3 carats cartier ring for ROM..

Qn: why a smaller carat for ROM, when ROM is e more significant event as compared to engagement?
Ans: cuz after ROM she'll have a legal share in his assets, so the ring is not taT impt anymore..

i read frm some tabloid tat why 李亚萍 n 余天's marriage lasted so long is tat on their wedding nite e wife told e husband 'if u dare to cheat on me, i'll cheat on u too'... i tot tat was such a great way to 'protect yourself', since e last thing a man wants is to being made a cuckold of.

told my mum of e above-mentioned great way to keep the husband faithful, but in e end she told me "not all men can tahan their wife saying tis to em de"... which, i tot, was even more true. if ur husband is e strong character kind n u told him tat, u both mite juz end up in a huge quarrel n settled a divorce even without needing him to cheat on u.

i went to sch tis afternoon for SM lecture, normal ppl will find tis abit sianz huh... but it's not sianz for me cuz e 1st fren i saw on my way to attend e lecture was tis guy fren whom i alwayz tot was veri gd looking!!~

okay actually i ran into shihui n kaimin b4 i ran into my shuai shuai fren, but since it's e 3rd day of 2006 n im e queen here so i say my shuai shuai fren is e 1st fren i saw then he shall be e 1st fren i saw! haha~

tis semester wiLL be a smashing great one cuz i saw my shuai shuai fren on e 1st day of e semester! muahahaha~

okayy im getting a lil too hua chi, shall stop b4 i turn everybody off... dar cldnt be bothered with me when i was swooning over him repeatedly during lunch... haha~

miao, tis time my taste is not weird cuz dar oso agree with me tat he looks gd okayy..... hee~

mZ juz told me yester tat lam's parents forbid her to go JB for security reasons... then left me, mZ n paddy... so we decided not to go JB in e end... again... for e 2nd time... im so destined not to go JB man... sianz~

tis is wat exactly happened to my supposedly scheduled prog on 2 jan:

on 26 dec - arranged to play mj with e jurong gang on 2nd jan
on 27 dec - lam mZ & paddy said they are all free to go JB on 2nd jan, so i pang seh-ed e jurong gang n replaced mj with JB...
on 1 jan afternoon - discussed with mZ n decided tat JB is a no go
on 1 jan evening - asked e jurong gang whether they still wanna come my hse play mj.. then jurong gang said they found another person to replace me n arranged to play at someone else's hse le.........
on 2 jan - stayed at home n do my fyp in e end.

u noe whenever u go to buffet meals with a bunch of ppl, there'll definitely be one bo liao person who will go n do tis kinda gross concoction... yes, lulu, u'r e bo liao one. haha~

after exploding our stomachs with e free flow of buffet food, sissy suggested tat we do some exercise. n since lulu had been advocating gift exchg, sissy suggested tat we get each other sth frm bugis junction in a 'game' format... rules of e game:

1) ballot for a person to buy a gift for - we picked like 4 times cuz i picked myself 3 times in a row... wat are e chances man... shd go buy 4D...
2) set budget - $4, cuz horse oni has $4 left in his wallet.. hehz~
3) set deadline - 30 min
4) meet at coffee bean at e end of 30 min - but in e end we went delifrance instead, cuz coffee bean too crowded...

here's wat we bought for each other... (no, e nokia hp is not one of e gifts)

horse bought me 2 pairs of earrings at $5. he said it's to go with my outfit, lame reason... hehz~ i bought horse a pair of cute socks frm seiyu kids dept, $3 after an unexpected 20% discount... i meant for it to be a handphone pouch, one for horse n one for geri...

i tink e one i bought is e most meaningful n cute n sweet, tho it's e cheapest.. n e one lulu bought is e cutest... see, gals are indeed better at picking gifts... u guyz suck lahz... haha~
