All Dressed Up...

I mentioned the other day how I have discovered my new favorite thing to make - paper flowers! I made a girly-girl layout with some of my favorite papers, and when I saw the Mojo Sketch 111, I knew I had to make a card with these papers and my favorite little floral pretties! I swear, if I had a little girl, her entire scrapbook would be in pinks, greens, and black and white...

I had a comment asking if I would do a tutorial for these flowers, and I will work on it this coming week while the munchkins are at school.

I also have some big plans for some blog candy (I have over 100 lovely followers, over 100 sales at Etsy, and almost 1300 hits on my blog!) to give away, so stay tuned :)

For this card, I did the fancy little flowers, and I also pieced the skirt together a bit. I stamped it first on white cardstock, then three times on patterned paper. I then "built up" the skirt in sections, layering parts of the skirt to give it a bit of dimension. I didn't pop dot it or anything, because I wanted it to be subtle...

I made the inside cute too - nothing fancy, just coordinating papers and brads :)

Papers: Prima (patterned) and Bazzill (pink cardstock)
Embellishments: brads in centers of flowers

Boo!

Well, it is Sunday night, and it is time to start thinking about Monday. Lunches to pack, socks to find.... I have the hardest time finding matching socks for the boys. And thinking about Monday, I almost forgot to post my card for the Monday Mojo Challenge! I used one of my new digistamps I purchased from Mo Manning at her online store. Her artwork is absolutely amazing! I almost hate to color the images, they are so perfect as it :) This card uses Monday Mojo sketch 103. I really loved this sketch! I like groups of threes, and this sketch has such nice balance...

Ok, well off to make sure backpacks are where they ought to be, find those pesky socks, and pray I have two juice boxes...

Ingredients
Papers: MyMindsEye, Making Memories, Cosmo Cricket, Bazzill

When you wish upon a star... MojoMonday challenge

This card went through sooo many versions before I got it how I finally liked it. It started out as a 5x7 with the red pattern as the base, a Mary Engelbreit stamp, and buttons... As you can see, it is completely different! Now a square, I decided to use a cute new stamp from Sugar Nellie, a design by Leanne Ellis. I ended up cutting out the image, and that made me think of an old fashioned play, with moons and stars hanging from the rafters... and so here is my interpretation of the MojoMonday challenge! If you look closely, you'll see the little strings that the stars are dangling from, as is the girl on the moon...
Ingredients
Papers: MyMindsEye, Scenic Route

Embellishments: Chipboard, brads
Ranger ink, colored pencil

Getting my School Times Mojo on...

What a week! A flurry of cardmaking, back to school preparation, and trying to steal a few moments of summer before they are gone. I never thought I would say this, but I can't wait for school to start. I love my boys. I super do. But...
Oh. My. Goodness.
Having two four year olds is, um, tiring. Especially when their favorite activities include running, jumping, running, jumping, and running.
The school themed card (can you tell I have school on the brain?) used the sketch by Mary, and it turned out even cuter than I planned. I just love sketches... and I love that this card is perfect for the SimonSaysStamp challenge!
Ingredients
Paper: Basic Grey, MyMindsEye, Foof-a-La, DCwV, Graphic45, Little Yellow Bicycle
Embellishments: Gold brad, teastained ruler ribbon

No Place Like Home...

Today, one of the sweetiest gals in BlogLand is having her Wizard of Oz gala. Stop by Two Crazy Crafters to see what magic Twyla and Lindsey have cooked up in honor of this fabulous theme... My creation, inspired by Dorothy, is a sweet little card. I love the saying, "There's no place like home," and was initially going to paper piece a little house and such. But then I spied amongst my stash a little bundle of blue gingham fabric.

Dorothy dress fabric!

And so this card was born. Using the Mojo Monday sketch for today's challenge, which was created by Janette, here is my homage to the songbird from Kansas. I almost used an image of Judy Garland for Dorothy, but this picture speaks to me. For one, it sooo looks like a farmhouse in Kansas. Secondly, she looks to me like a young Dorothy, dreaming beyond her farmland and over the rainbow... yet still loving the home she has in her sepia colored world.

Ingredients

Paper: MyMindsEye, Jenni Bowlin

Fabric: soft blue gingham flannel

Image: vintage pic from personal collection

Embellishments: ribbon, Fiskars punch for eyelet trim, chipboard

Ink and paint, and sentiment printed from computer

Yay Mojo! Having a blast with all of these sketches, I tell ya....

In my quest for stamps, I found some digi-stamps!Pretty cool, especially if you are impatient like me and want a new stamp image NOW and can't wait for the mail :) This cutie little image is one I purchased from PinkPetticoat. Isn't she super sweet? Perfect for Halloween, and I used the sketch at MojoMonday for the 5th challenge this week. I turned the sketch to make it vertical, and lost of fun mixing papers!

Hey Diddle Diddle... Mojo Monday (day3)

It's mad times, I tell you, mad! Ok, so I am channeling Professor Slughorn from the Harry Potter books, but there is madness - MojoMadness! It is day 3, and I have made it my goal to do a card for each challenge this week. So far, so good :) AND this card actually has a stamped image. I have been using my vintage pics, but then I dug through my very small collection of stamps, and forgot I had this one! I love vintage children's books, and this cute stamp was perfect!

This is my first stamped card for a challenge, and therefore my first coloring... What do you think? I used colored pencils, and hope to get my hands on some Copic Markers one day :) They seem to be all the rage, and have fantastic results.

Ingredients
Paper: MyMindsEye, Cosmo Cricket, Paper Loft, K &Co
Image: "Hey Diddle Diddle" by Stampabilities
Distressing ink (Ranger) and colored pencils

My first Mojo Monday Challenge

I am so excited! This is my first ever "challenge" card! I used the sketch from Mojo Monday. Instead of a stamp, I used a vintage image from my collection that was printed on tea-stained muslin. I have to say, I am feeling pretty fancy. AND I love, love, love the sketches on Mojo Monday's blog. I have made a few more challenge cards, but this is my first "official" one. I'll be posting the others shortly :) So fun! I frayed the edges of the fabric after I stitched the image onto cardstock.

Ingredients

Papers: Jenni Bowlin, Paper Loft, BoBunny
Image: vintage photo printed on tea-stained muslin
Inks: Ranger
Embellishments: Vintage lace, stitching, vintage button
