i don't pay for my own elaborate meals, my parents do. :)
and it'll probably be this recent one at the restaurant on like some 60+++ level at UOB building, where the table was huge and the bill had so many zeros i nearly started screaming at my brother's friends for drinking kirin as though it was free.

i am a very healthy person.

when i was practicing my cooking for f&n in sec1/2 and let my friends try my fried rice wrapped in egg dish...almost all of them got diarrhea the day after. :(

let me just dive in, beacause i want to go to sleep again.
but one thing's for sure: i've ENCOUNTERED!
(and i bet that everyone's msn nicks will have something to do with camp for the next few days or so. haha.)

day 0
went down to pgpr at about 1230pm to facilitate the packing of the goodie bags. kinda disappointed that the youth theme verse postcard didn't turn out the way we wanted it to, and it was more expensive too! :( but no matter, what has been printed has been printed.

thank God for the 3 girls from east who helped with the packing, as well as the girls from sound and many other people who came down for different reasons but ended up helping us to pack the goodbie bags. :)

i'm still sad that my bag got stolen, but God spoke to me during camp regarding this and i should just let go of what happened. i'm still grateful to the many people who helped me out during this time though. people like jerel who kept lending me his handphone to call mine, daniel cheah for worrying about me and if i was going to cry, jiayi for stopping the entire music practice to hear my handphone ringing, jiali and xinyi for helping me search for the phone, eevoon for waiting with me while i was waiting for my parents...and so many others who expressed their concern for me and helped me search for it.

was rather put off by the way my camp started, but as i told derrick, there's no point mourning over my bag and missing out on encountering God, so i'm glad i made the decision to stop whining over my loss and just try to understand why God allowed this to happen.

gwen slept over! we were both like rushing things till some weird time in the morning and ended up waking up late. hoohoo. but thank God for my dad who drove us down really quickly!

day 1
reached pgpr at about 9am and bumped into those who stayed over on our way down to the mph. can't quite remember who i helped out while waiting for the camp to start, think i helped jia out with the sound for a while before giving out the camp tags to the minops people. dumped my stuff in my room before heading back to the mph for the start of camp.

missed the opening ceremony because i went with ruizhen to central library to print out things out, but i got a pre-admission experience of how to use the computers in nus, so at least i won't appear a n00b when i start using the coms myself. :)

reached back during p&w and sat near the lift because that was the only place left with space to sit. (the hall's seriously cramped this year round, with both the stage brought forward and the mamashop at one side) migrated over to join the rest during the 2nd teaching though, and i personally feel that shirley's teaching/preaching has improved over the months. :)

grabbed a late lunch during the games, (ruizhen dumped her stuff in my room too! she's my roomie for camp!) before heading down to the stadium to help sell drinks. jiali reminds me of ben when she starts 'lelong-ing' people to buy drinks, and she, jerel, leejun and i set up base at one end of the stadium, the other side had shuz, ethan, simon and walmond. (and we sold more than the other side! HOOHOO.)

they played catepillar (i still don't know how to spell this word!) and i was kind of wondering why they did, because its always the game that results in the most number of injuries.

sat in the back of the truck on the way back. its seriously more bumpy as compared to the front (stupid walmond and leejun sat in the front on the way back and looked back to laugh at us. bakas. daniel went over this huge hump that made ethan literally fly into the air and put him on guard for the rest of the way back. ouch. the rest of us settled for splinters in the butt. :|

can't wait till next camp where hopefully i'll be able to drive! woo!

learnt a lot on the first day, and i'm so happy that i got my LONG AWAITED BREAKTHROUGH! hoohoohoo. God went all the way and even gave me a word of knowledge about someone who stood near me during the alter call. told my shepherd and ruizhen about it, but have no idea if the person should be told or not.

headed back to the rooms to wash up and start painting the ignite! shirts. yiyou was spray painting the banner outside, but she came into the reading room once in a while to enjoy the aircon. haha. we stopped after we ran out of the green paint used t outline the words, and i sarted doing my marcom things. decided to leave it till the next day though, because eevoon, val, gwen and jiayi were waiting for me to go up with them. they weren't bored while waiting definitely, because ben was telling us stories of ns guys and a wild boar. haha.

didn't understand why ruizhen was so cold until i started freezing too. haha. had a rather good sleep despite it being short (we slept at about 4am) and woke up to rain. woooo.

day 2
breakfast was hot dog buns, curry puffs and some cake roll thing. the ys girls sat in some acolve outside the mph and happily feasted on our box of breakfast things whilst doing qt and sharing. lalala!

kept falling asleep during worship, and gwen laughed at me! :( but i'm glad that God spoke to me anyhow, despite me being so tired and such.

gideon is a seriously funny teacher. haha. too bad i didn't get the full extent of his impartation because huili and i were rushing bring it on! things. was terribly amused with the pictures we manipulated of ethan, qianjin and jiali. hoohoo. shall post them up another time to show the world why they were so amusing. haha.

alter call on the 2nd day was the anointing of spiritual giftings by the leaders, and the queues were oh-so-long! initially wanted to get gideon to pray for me for the gift of knowledge, but in the end i went to surprise yihui instead. :D

it was really amusing! haha. when i went to where she was, she was praying for someone else so i waited. in the meantime, siewluan was just done with the girl she was praying for and was shocked to see me there. haha. her expression was like 'oh my god, you're asking me to pray for you?!'. haha. told her that i was waiting for yihui. (whose reaction was even greater than siew luan's) i'm really proud of yihui though, having seen her grow throught the years. she's come so far from who she used to be before! :)

anyhow, she prayed for me for God to fill me with knowledge, and i in turn prayed for anointing for her leadership. :) i'm waiting to see great things to be done through her!

went back to wash up and to complete the bring it on! things. had a fun time thinking of the pretend awards they received. haha. fiddled around with the july ess things before taking a quick nap on a make-shift chair-bed in the reading room. after jiali went back up, ben, huili and i migrated to another room nearby where our shift sleeping system obviously failed. hoohoo. ben was to sleep from 4=5am, but huili and i fell asleep at about 430am, thus destroying the system. hoohoo. woke up when i heard the door closing to find that someone (i think the security guard) had helped us to switch off the lights.

day 3
woke up at 630am to discuss yfc stuff, but was practically not there most of the time. :X to ensure that i didn't fall alseep again, led the others (ben, dan and freedy) into a prayer for the entire project.

went up to my room to wash up and promptly fell asleep again. :X woke up when i heard the others moving around the corridor. thank God for ben and huili for moving my things over to the hall.

the beehoon breakfast was kinda blah because the beehoon was really oily. but hey, its food and i was hungry.

daniel taught for the first time, and because the lesson was really long, eelee taught the 2nd half. this is the first of many camps to come where we were taught by so many different people! (shirley, eelee, gideon, daniel and dennis!) i like it though, because different teachers impart the word in different ways and its more fresh to hear from someone different each time.

was someone roped in for the games (though i didn't do anything practically) and disappeared into the reading room to do yfc things along with the guys.

bring it on! was great, but i didn't quite find the clip about ms swan all that amusing. the number of smses coming through was crazy! it was like sms after sms after sms coming through, until some inboxes got full and one handphone battery died.

pity about the puppet5 item though. it was really good and well=prepared and things. felt that they should have at least received something. and because i'd seen them rehearse and things, the central girls band and redemption fared a lot better during the rehearsals IMHO.

ignite! was great and i'm sad that my popper didn't pop. :( the minops people drank the sprakling juice mostly out of the bottle, and the hall was crazy to clean up aftr=erwards. one thing's for sure, water and crepe paper don't mix. the pgpr hall has been left more colourful than it was when we stepped into it. :X

the beehoon for supper was woo! and its kinda funny that we break so many rules without being aware of it. we went to some aircon room to eat our beehoon, but by stepping in and shifting the sofa chairs around, we had already broken like 4 or 5 rules implemented. hoohoo. had to leave the place after our supper and we went to te reading room for a challenge session by shuzhen and to celebrate wynnie's birthday.

i really want to live out what i've experienced, and i'm discontented with the standard of the things i do now! shall go and learn more about photoshop and things because my goal is to create invite cards and things that are so well-done that when it is given to a non-believer, they would want to come for the event!

went to dump our things into our rooms before heading down to some projet room to just relax and have fun with the unit. had a really fun time playing blind mice, and it was really funny to see leejun catch daniel, daniel catch leejun, leejun catch daniel...and poor val is really lousy at evading. haha.

headed back up at about 4 or 5am because some of the musicians still had to play the next day and some others had duty. went to talk to eevoon for a while before i couldn't take it anymore too and went back to my room to roll ruizhen to one side before crashing.

day 4
woke up late at 9am! ahh! rushed my shower and quickly packed up to check out in time. was falling asleep at breakfast and the testimony sharing and praise went by really quickly! didn't understand the closing ceremony at all though, because i didn't watch the opening ceremony.

helped gwen with the room keys before wandering around the hall helping out with whomever needed help. got the staff discount vouchers from harry! woo! so some day this week, jinqi, derrick and i are going shopping! woo!

got my parents to fetch amelia and val home, and i fell asleep in the car. reached home and slept right away. got up to type all this, and now i'm going back to sleep again. meeting the yfc people again tomorrow and i need to SLEEP. :)

can't wait for service this coming week!

was at sentosa yesterday with jiayi, jiali, gwen, ben, qj & walmond!
because it was JIAYI'S BIRTHDAY! :D

and we've proven that you don't need an islander card to get discounts! :D

the girls went to cinemania and instead of paying $50 (adult tics x 4), we paid $41 (adult tics x 2, kids tics x 2). LALALA.

and at the luge, we had 3 rides for $10 each! woo! :) even better then the promotion they had, which was $15 for 2 rides + 1 free.

i believe God loves us up there,
because when we prayed for the rain to stop
(high up above, freezing in the chair lift)
it did! :)

this movie will be going down in puay's must-watch-again movie list for all time. :)
although it does deviate quite a bit from the original comic,
the plot is still fantastic,
the course of it bittersweet,
and the ending awesome.
there could be no other way of ending it really.
giving it a happy ending in the most ideal way would have only killed the essence of the movie.

i adore the poem,
and though i found the mask V doned a little freaky at first,
i start to find emotion in it despite the plasticity of it,
and you know the actor's good when you can actually sense his angry or despair or joy despite a mask which always holds that smile sinister grin.

those reviewers which gave it 2 and a 1/2 stars:
they obviously don't know a good movie when they see one.

and now the whole house stinks of cigarette smoke.
how lovely.
its just what i wanted to entire house to reek of.

as if i didn't have enough fun inhaling second-hand smoke from smokers who blatantly infrige upon the 'NO SMOKING' signs located at bus-stops,
wishing that those idiots at the next table would somehow always be upwind of me and BLOW smoke into my face.

today was an interesting day. :)

went to the salvation army's thrift store with JOYCECHIWENYA, and it is terribly dusty there.

went home to sort out my overseas application stuff,
fell asleep on my parents bed,
and woke up kicking the curtain.
as if anyone would understand what i mean by that. :)

met TANXINYI for a while over at bugis,
and there's a new (albeit tiny) store there that sells shirts with christian slogans and stuff!
very very nice, and makes me feel like visualising some of the designs ash & i thought of a while back.

wanted the 'warning' one, but joyce already has it,
so decided not to get it.
least we have yet another same shirt.
a side note: i bought the fox one first! :P

when i go over to the states to study,
i am going to join the threadless 12 club. :)

and i do hope i put on minimal weight over CNY.

and a belated statement fulfilled:
PRIDE

this is one that may be easy to understand, but extremely difficult to see whether we have fallen into or not. and i think that thats the scariest part of it all. :pride, to put is simply, is the inability to depend on God, spiritual blindness, ignorance to God's intervention and an overdependence on oneself. yet most of the time, we think that we are not prideful, but that thought in itself is pride.

we who have temporal souls should not speak as though we fully comprehand the eternal things of God.

pride leads to non-teachablily, fruitlessness and a perpentual spiritual dryness as we tell ourselves again and again that we're alright with God, we just have to 'work harder'. but most of the time, it is we deceiving ourselves.

the greatest lie is when he who starts it believes in the lie itself.

now, this includes 'spiritual' lies - are our lives really us, or has pride taken over to mantain that 'oh-i'm-a-great-spiritual-being' facade in place?

watching FMA has reminded me so much about the 7 deadly sins,
which reminded me of a little analysis i did of it before.
it was something i started on,
but never completed.

from my archives; had to dig like crazy:
and have you ever heard about something called the 'seven deadly sins'?
they have never been explicitly listed in the bible, but there are some referrences to the them here and there. it takes knowing to pick them out, which unfortunately, i do not possess.

Christians don't need to know this, but i think they should at least have some surface knowledge about such things. it helps a lot in personal growth. :)

if your not interested in such things, just wander off on your way. :)
but i am, so i shall continue. :))) <--ripped from fio. no, i do not have a double chin.

anyway, let me go on.
for those not in the know, the seven deadly sins are as follows:
pride, lust, envy, wrath, greed, gluttony and sloth.
and yes, there is a difference between greed and gluttony.
but patience is a virtue, and thou shalt wait for me to ramble. :)

a good site to check out would be this one.
it delivers content that is equivalent to getting a spiritual slap in the face.

and he is way cooler than cloud strife
because his powers are actually his own. :D

he's ageless, so he'll forever look pretty;

its raining, raining, raining!
yes, i have a fondness for repeating myself. :)

i'm kinda amused by my little brother.
got a call from my elder brother to switch the alarm off,
and feeling like a nice big sister,
i decided to caution my little brother
that our elder brother was back to reclaim his room.
which he was happily abusing of course,
playing DOTA and what not...
took him a few seconds to realise the danger approaching,
and with a few carefully chosen words,
he was hurrying around the place,
dragging a table with his stuff to the living area on the 2nd floor
and trying to get his innocent act all set up.

alas, he didn't get out in time,
and got his usual sweared-at by our elder brother.
what did i do?
i stood at my doorframe and laughed. :D

not really often i get ahh..moments like these with my brothers,
i would say i'm better off talking to a random stranger on the street at times.
but sometimes, they're alright. :)

and i still held on to the foolish hope that when i reached home at 11-ish,
i would see her pawing at the gate,
