Open Thread: the Perez Hilton Video.

Dick Cheney should be forced to watch the Perez Hilton video if he thinks torture works. Can any human be more annoying. I could not more than a few seconds of the video. I have never read Hilton's blog and don't intend to. Apparently, he is a big deal since his cry fest video is all over the internet.

Seriously, I would claw the walls if I was in a jail cell and had to listen to that whiny ass voice 24/7. Not all gay people go into hysterics. I don't know if Hilton's video is sincere or he is trying to do a lamer version of Chris Crocker.

A gossip blogger whom prints bullshit about people got a black eye from the Black Eyed Peas. The irony is too much. Miss Bullwinkle wants a reason to blog. She can.

Lurkers, I know there are people that read this site. Don't be shy. Explain to me why Hilton is a celebrity. I seriously don't get it. Consider this an open thread.

This must be some poetic karmic justice for professing my hatred for all things Kate. The show's writers only purpose for Kate is use as the resident damsel in distress. That is a sexist excuse to create dramatic tension. God forbid the writers would make a woman the hero. Battlestar Galactica has women in action roles. Why can't the more popular Lost be more imaginative?

The problem might be Evangeline Lilly doesn't have the dramatic power or physicality as an actor to be an action heroine. Katee Sackhoff can overpower other actors just by showing up. Entertainment Weekly critic Gillian Flynn noted how how Sackhoff overpowered Michelle Ryan on updated Bionic Woman. Kate was originally envisioned by the creator to be the leader. ABC wanted the Jack character to live and be the show's protagonist. The network feared

Lost isn't about great acting. In fact, most of the actors are so bad that they unintentionally play their scenes for laugh. Every actor does the infamous Lost cry. The actors squint their eyes and open their mouth and start sobbing hysterically. The highlight of bad Lost is Harold Perrineau's work. I love it when Perrineau screams "WAAAAAAAAAAAALT!" in full overacting glory.

The appeal of Lost is that the show is so outlandish. John Loche's plan to move the entire island is ludicrous. Lost jumped the shark in credibilty (even by fantasy show standards) a long time ago. Analysis of plot points and clues is pointless. The best way to appreciate the show is for it's campiness.

Character's like Jack can only exist in cheesy television shows. No rationale human being would sit on the beach, tell the other survivors after a dead body washes up on the beach and the freighter have lied to them that they are going to get rescued. The characters actions are only meant to move the plot forward. Don't believe the producers bullshit that Lost is a character-driven show. The producers kill off characters callously. Charlie's death was pointless and avoidable. The no-name survivors gunned down at the barracks with as much thought as the red shirt crew members of the original Star Trek.

Trained mercenaries were able to gun down three no-name Losties. Sawyer runs into the open and doesn't get knicked. No character has deftly avoided bullets since Bruce Willis in the Die Hard franchise. Josh Holloway is also the Lost actor most-likely to become a movie star. (Don't kid yourselves about Matthew Fox.) The popular Lost characters can't die. Locke proved that by magically healing from a gunshot wound.

Blame Melissa McEwan for getting me hooked on the show.

Lost Open Thread: the Show Is Back

Ropers, tell me what you think about episode 9. Jack's gut feeling about getting rescued is really getting on my nerves. Locke is crazy, but he appears to be the better leader. I wouldn't have said that in earlier seasons. I don't think I would trust either of them with my life.

What did you like and dislike about the episode? I know there are lurkers out there. Feel free to comment.

Caption It! / Open Thread

Michael hasn't posted here for a week, so being a guest blogger, it's my duty to keep the blog fresh. Unfortunately, I'm upto my nutsac in school work right now and can't even keep my own blog updated. But I did find this photo of Hillary that I'm sure you'll all love:

I love apt visual metaphors.

Caption it and talk amongst yourselves, I'll try to make time to post something more substantive soon.

Open Thread: What Is the Worst Music Video of All-time

What has to be the worse music video has to be Lonel Ritchie's Hello. He plays a teacher stalking his blind student. The greatest moment is when he calls her and sings "hellll-looo" into the phone. Dude, she is in high school.

Check out the Lionel Ritchie scupture the girl makes.

Other (dis)honorable choices are below.

Warrant - Cherry Pie

Posted Mar 02, 2006

Off one of the last multi-platinum hair metal albums of the late '80s, Warrant comes correct with this extremely filling pop-rock anthem.

Dio really takes the dungeons and dragons shit way too seriously. Look out!

Little Christina tries to be sexy and makes an unintentional comedy video. Did she borrow the guy in the bunny suit from the Flaming Lips?

Readers, what are your choices for worst video?

Open Thread: The Loafies

I attended the Loafies. It was a rather surreal experience. I didn't go up onstage because my win was already announced in Creative Loafing. I was happy to see WMNF, Creative Clay and Jobsite Theatre win. I finally met Wayne Garcia. I saw David Jenkins, but he disappeared before I had a chance to say hi.

I saw Tommy Duncan and thought it was best we didn't talk. Sticks of Fire won readers' choice for best blog.

I technically didn't get my award. The CL staff don't know where it is. They looked. They're going to send it in the mail. Winners get a framed certificate. I declined my loaf of bread. I'm not mad at CL. It's just one of those things that happens. Besides, blogging shouldn't be about winning awards.

Anyone else who reads this blog at the Loafies? I like other people's take on it. It had a New York Eastside feel to it. I thought about cutting out when I saw the people in bath robes waiting to get in.

How many people split for the Hub before the show was over? I hated how the beer line was set up at the Tampa Theatre.

Update: David Jenkins has post up on the Loafies. He also left an interesting comment about the behind-the-scenes work Jobsite did at the Loafies.

The weirdest and most humorous part of the red carpet event was people getting in limos in front of the Tampa Theatre. The limos would drive around the block and drop the people off in front of the red carpet. Eric Snider and Katrina Stevenson were interviewing people with Loafies as prop microphones.

Update: Lorna Bracewell's musical performance impressed me. She performed the song Flowers On the Chains. The song can be heard on her Myspace site.

Update: I need to tell Jill about Lorna Blackwell. She has good (Ani DiFranco) and evil (Pussycat Dolls) musical tastes. I feel it's my duty to save her from the dark side.
