Comte De Monte Cristo

Here rests the thoughts of an immortal, making of what the world hath thrown at him.

"My dear count," cried Morcerf, "you are at fault--you, one of the most formidable logicians I know--and you must see it clearly proved that instead of being an egotist, you are a philanthropist. Ah, you call yourself Oriental, a Levantine, Maltese, Indian, Chinese; your family name is Monte Cristo; Sinbad the Sailor is your baptismal appellation, and yet the first day you set foot in Paris you instinctively display the greatest virtue, or rather the chief defect, of us eccentric Parisians,--that is, you assume the vices you have not, and conceal the virtues you possess."

New Books Just In!

Well here we go again... Bought two new books last weekend. Statistics Hacks and Mutants by Armand Marie Leroi.

Strange as it may seem, I am horrible at algebra and its derivatives... calculus is crap and so is every single thing that involves finding what X actually is. Why can't we just ask X then, X has no meaning at all. However, statistics is different, statistics is all about drawing relationships about events that happen in the world using numbers... now thats much more meaningful! Love the book, have been reading it for quite a while now on how to cheat my way past Blackjack and Casino games hahaha. Watch out Integrated Resorts!

Mutants offers a great insight into the deviation of the norm among the human race. There are lots of nice (slightly grusome to others) pictures in it which showcases extreme cases. I particularly like the one on extending one's life ... well thats probably my inclination towards immortality.

Father's day is around the corner and I have to go to the wine cellar and get something for my father. But anyway we would just share it out one day so it doesn't really make a difference.

Why I am "Evil"

In such a media influenced world, its hardly rare to see teenagers that subconciously act out to fufil what they seem as the societal attitudes towards certain issues. To conform to such standards is foolishness, to shun such attitudes is being seemed as just plain weird. Deception, an ugly word by modern standards, is actually a beautiful thing in itself. By decieving others, one can be made to seem to be following the trends of today while in actualy fact is putting up a facade to sway the masses into thinking that one has fallen into line with modern standards. No doubt, not many teenagers know this because they believe what the media tells them that the people who are successful and "happily ever after" are the ones who are honest, loyal, compassionate and clean. However, in actual fact, the people who are the most successful are the direct opposites of such attributes.

The truth is, to survie this world, it is only prudent to be cunning, vicious and slightly evil. These attributes are required some form or another... and cannot be avoided at all. In business such attributes bring success and spells survival to those who employ such tactics. The world IS about survival. Well, in the end who is to decide... who is to confer success or failure?

Afterall blogs are a type of media too....
