I've never been one for fairs. Fairs schmairs. I couldn't understand how people could stand jostling around. How do they expect to see the stuff being sold when all they are seeing is a sea of people?
I decided to go for the PC Show 2010, though. Esther's main purpose for going was to go get a laptop and an external hard disk. As for me, I just felt like checking out the gadgets on the market and see if there are any good stuff worth buying. :D
There is still Comex 2010 and Sitex 2010. Anyone wanna accompany me and go gadget-seeing then? Haha. (:
Gain City's mascot looks so huggable! (: I managed to buy something from the PC Show. A pair of headphones! Not that it was on discount (I've checked out the price at other outlets before) but they threw in a cable wrap worth 18 bucks for free! Oh yea, man! :D
Had lunch at Marina Square. It was impossible to go any further place with the heavy laptop and its accompanying freebies. I'm quite spoilt for choice when it comes to eating at Marina Square. There's my favourite MOF no Izakaya, followed by Secret Recipe and Yuki no Yaki. There're other restaurants I want to try out too, like Hotpot Culture, Kenny Rogers, etc. And now the latest to be opened, Mr. Curry Japanese Curry and Sweet House, is on the list!
This is what you can call the best of both worlds. She has got herself a brand new Toshiba laptop and a delicious matcha milkshake. Greedy!
My lunch. I decided to order something special today. Pork cutlet curry served in a bread bowl! The bread lid resembles a pufferfish somehow.
We've always (and always) ordered green tea ice cream. This time, we gave it a miss because we've already ordered the matcha milkshake. Went for the black sesame parfait instead! Boy, it's good! The ice cream was so thick with the taste of black sesame. So is the black sesame syrup!
Using a straw to suck the melted ice cream that was threatening to overflow! :D

Final Year Project
I'd groaned when I was informed my project would be 'Development of RTD Herbal Beverage'. After working with beverages at a flavour house for 3 months, I thought a change would be refreshing. But after a week, I'm starting to think this projects has many, many perks. Like my supervisors, amount of experience to be gained, project timeline, etc. Because this is a collaboration with Company X and the tight dateline issued to NYP, the bulk of this project will be over by end June. Meaning I'll be pretty free for the remaining 2 months of my FYP (including the last month whereby I'm supposed to help out for YOG). It's much better than worrying about not having enough time towards the end and I get to have more time to focus on my report, poster, AES, etc.
I suppose I look shagged in this photo. Jessie and I had spent the entire morning in the lab with the Stephan cooker. It's not too hard to use pilot plant machinery. It's just mentally and physically tiring if you're doing it for long periods. My arm strength has increased because of all the heavy stuff I've to lug around since March. Hahaha!
Shi Hui's spamming my digital camera! And I'm disturbing her 'cos I'm bored. I do really stupid things when I'm bored out of my gourd. (:
RAAAHHHH !!
Jessie and I doodled on this whiteboard while we were waiting for the MicroThermics UHT machine to be ready. I didn't get the opportunity to learn how to use this during my internship. Glad I got the chance to learn it now! :D

Juri Ueno's えがおのはな PV!
I love the soft art and her innocent voice. And I love the lion! Don't you think lions are just sexy to the max? They're so proud yet so beautiful. (:

Ms Marlene's Farewell Party + Some Shopping
So many food science lecturers are resigning all of a sudden. Ms D, Ms M and now Mr S too. I don't want to speculate too much, but I'm starting to think my hunch from months ago is right.
The class met up at the MacDonalds outlet in NYP to finish up the card for Ms Marlene before going to the function room she'd booked at the NYP apartments. While waiting, it was a camwhoring session and catching up with each other. S'been more than 3 months since we last saw each other because of attachment and final year projects.
Yoghurt ice cream! Thanks for the treat, Ms Marlene! (:
Ms M's friend from overseas came to visit her as well. And my classmates couldn't resist fawning over her son. He's a cutie. (:
Real cherries are nice to eat, not the canned ones. Damn those, they taste so medicinal! Nabilah bought a chocolate cake for Ms M too. Mmmm, chocolate cake! (:
I don't know why, but chocolate cakes always look (and taste) so sinfully good.
Ah-hah! Kena spotted playing at the playground by the rest of the class! All of us rushed out to snap photos of Bi Xue and Wan Wen playing. Hahaha. :D
Went shopping with Shi Hui thereafter. Hey, it's the GSS period! How can I not go shopping (despite hating the crowd)? We bought a iced double chocolate and green tea ice blended while walking around.
Passed by The Heeren and hung around to watch the finals of the Manhunt Singapore 2010. HAHA. Hot hunks and babes galore! (: Oddly enough, we both cheered for the same guy out of the 20 there. Lol. And I thought we have different tastes.
Shi Hui introduced me to this wanton noodle stall called Graffiti Cafe at the basement of Far East Plaza. As the name implies, customers are more than welcomed to doodle away on the walls, ceilings, tables, chairs, etc of the shop. The wanton noodles are good too. Had to wait awhile for the food because there were so many people ordering as well. It's worth the wait. (:
Yea, that's Bugis MRT station! After dinner, we walked from Orchard all the way to Bugis! Hahaha. Not that I can find much there. S'fun, though. Time to save up for the next shopping trip! (: There's the PC Fair coming up too.
Hello! Nice to meet you! I'm Charmaine. I graduated from NYP with a Diploma in Food Science, but I'd rather eat a smelly sock than go into that field. I'm hoping to become a psychology undergraduate this year. In the meantime, I'm working as a waitress at SoHo7 Cafe & Bistro (I may just be the one serving you!). Do pop by for our freshly roasted coffee and yummy grilled food, and say hi to our cheery (and somewhat gaga) team! :D
