I went for a 'walk' with Esther along Alexander Road. You know, the one where there are many parks connected together? I don't know the exact name for it so, yea. You'll know why I said 'walk' with the inverted commas soon.

This is my second favourite tree. It's second to the willow tree. These kind of trees look like they are crying gently, yet they seem so at peace too. I feel at ease just watching their leaves sway with the wind..

The walk was going fine until we took this path. I hate the park for its lack of signs. More than once, you find yourself at a crossroad and wondering which path is the right one. This is the second time I've gotten lost in this park. To make things worse, there were flying insects that resembled caterpillars trailing behind us. I say caterpillars because they had a fat, black body with white patterns. Weird, I know. -_-

Did I mention I saw gold ants too? They are as huge as the big black or red ants often seen, just that they look like they were plated with gold. Coolest looking ants. :D

Back to the walk. We ended up walking towards the nearest HDB flat and the road beside it. There was no direct bus to Harbourfront, only to Bukit Timah Bus Interchange so we headed there. At the interchange, we continued finding a bus that heads to Harbourfront, only to see the bus no. 57 about to shut its doors and depart. Dang, we ran to catch it! Lucky the bus driver was nice enough to wait for us. Phew!

We missed the bus stop and alighted at the next one, which turned out to be.. Oh my. :D Good thing the bus arrived soon and we arrived at Vivocity without anymore hassle.

It has been over a year since I last came to Sushi Tei with Esther. Geh! Time flies so fast that it's scary.

She's grinning 'cos she FINALLY got to eat her unagi rice set. Hahaha!

Me and my salmon sashimi and salmon roe rice. :D

Taiyaki ice cream.

I forgot what mine's called. It looks so cute, with the biscuits as the clam shell.

Walked around Vivocity for a bit before heading home by bus.

Worst week of the month. There were many reports due. Yet I keep feeling jaded and took my time doing my work. Sucks. I pulled an all-nighter on Thursday night to do the Project 2 report on chicken cocktail cooking methods evaluation. Woon Ching and Nabilah accompanied me till 5+. Heh. And I dozed off during the entire 2 hours lecture for Food Marketing and Innovation. Urgh!

Created my restaurant in Restaurant City in Facebook on Friday night. Such a cute game. Can't wait to get rich. Hahaha! :D

I went with my parents today. Mainly to get more stuff I lack for the upcoming World Leadership Conference in June. More formal shirts, my own pair of court shoes, etc. Amazing how I manage to get most of them in a day.

The best thing that happened today was..

I FINALLY GOT MY BOOTS!

The kind I wanted since I was in primary school! Yahooooooo! It's even better than the one I saw at Design&Comfort. Good thing I haven't went to another D&C outlet to check if they have stock of it. Shall take a picture of it next time. Yayness lah! :D

Off-topic: People have told me I'm appearing offline a lot recently. Haha, nothing serious lah. If I have got work to do and need to focus, I won't be able to talk actively. So why bother going online in the first place? Even when I talk in 'appear offline' mode, it's related to school work.

How the nuts do NYP SCL students have both good grades and a social life? -.-

I needed time by myself more than ever. Is it because the people around me who are changing (for the worse)? Is it me who is becoming less tolerant of people? Why do I seem to be less sympathetic to people now?

No doubt I stunned my parents when I told them I spent the night outside all by myself. I was never that sort of person. I guess I'm not that self-less as I thought I could be.

Kinokuniya e-mailed me regarding their 'My Reading Spree' promotion whereby members can get up to 20% discount. The discount ain't much if you're buying just a few books or some inexpensive books. My father told me to get the membership card because on my last trip, I spent $___ on a collector's set of the Naruto manga (first 27 volumes) and he said I could have saved a lot even if it's just 10%. So I did as he said. Lol.

Currently hooked on Claymore now. Wonderful art and intense and gripping storyline. :D

Took a train back to Sembawang before taking the shuttle bus to Sembawang Shopping Centre. Went to eat at MOF before shopping at Daiso. Finally reached home at 10pm.

Haven't been this happy the whole month. Bliss through self-indulgence. Peace through silence. I ought to do this more often.

I had one crazy afternoon. Because of the trip to Marina Barrage, Woon Ching and I had to rush our food chemistry and food microbiology experiments. Unfortunately, both involved long waiting times and the usage of different labs. Still, thank goodness we finished in time, no doubt bringing a lot of inconvenience to Ms Marlene. I feel bad troubling her so much.

Rushed to block E to board the buses along with the CSC and Geo Council members. Many thanks to Geo Council for organizing this trip!

At the entrance of Marina Barrage.
(From left: Me, Woon Ching, Ashsiqqin, Shu Hui)

No matter how many times I see Water Wally, I still think he's cute!

Some snacks and drinks provided too!

Lol!

Wow that's deep. It would suck to fall into the waters..

There was a couple and a photographer taking their wedding photographs at the spot over there.

Hahaha! :D

This cafe rocks. Whether you choose to sit outside or inside the cafe, there is an excellent view of the sea and a good dose of sunlight. I didn't take a photo of the cafe interior. But it's so cosy and relaxing inside..

Everyone in the photo is from NYP!

The screen is upside-down so you have to stand/sit that way to look at it. Talk about straining your neck..

Rows and rows of bottles.

This thing revolves continuously. Sure is a pain trying to read what's inside.

Oh dear. I forgot to rotate this photo.

It's a mini version of the Marina Barrage. You can fiddle around with the touch-screen games to learn about how the barrage works. The water works are synchronised with the games too.

I like this display.

There's a camera above the screen. All you got to do is press a button to take a photo. Your photo will be displayed on screens along the corridor. Just like Ashsiqqin's below! :P

This is the e-postcard booth. You select a background of your choice and take a photo. There's a keyboard for you to type out the recipient's email address. I personally like this booth. It's fun!

The entire walkway is like this. Pitch black with lights resembling stars.

Heading to the rooftop.

Great spot for a picnic and games. The Geo Council planned some games to allow us to get to know each other. We played two games: Wacko and Blow Wind Blow. Argh. I hate wacko. Plus my name got called a few times too.

After the games, we were told to get to make friends with someone you don't know. Adrena (I have no idea how to spell her name) came up to me and we asked for some basic information like name, school, hobbies, etc. She's from SIDM studying animation and likes watching anime.

The few girls that I got acquainted with of late seem to like watching anime. I've yet to find another girl who likes reading manga as much as I do. :}

The free hats that everyone got.

And that's it for the Marina Barrage trip! Might be bringing the other GA members here in future. :)

ABOUT ME

Hello! Nice to meet you! I'm Charmaine. I graduated from NYP with a Diploma in Food Science, but I'd rather eat a smelly sock than go into that field. I'm hoping to become a psychology undergraduate this year. In the meantime, I'm working as a waitress at SoHo7 Cafe & Bistro (I may just be the one serving you!). Do pop by for our freshly roasted coffee and yummy grilled food, and say hi to our cheery (and somewhat gaga) team! :D

CHARMAINE CHEONG.

I’m a somebody and a nobody. I’m rational and emotional. I’m critical but I’m non-judgemental.

I like my things categorized by types and chronologically. I like taking photos to preserve the moments of my life. I like dystopian literature. I like reading Wikipedia articles at random. I like travelling to foreign lands and seeing the world. I like long conversations over good food. I like pop and classical music. I like guitars. I like cats. I like writing random, mushy letters and notes to the people important to me. I have a whole long list of things that I like, but you’ve got to get to know me better to know them all.
