kids are funny.

On my way home tonight, there was this weird discussion on the radio with weird arguments about sexual equality in our local context. The one interesting thing I learnt apparently from a statistical quote, men on an average earn 28 more cents than women for every dollar earned. (yes, this is the only benefit that emerges out of being in slavery at a mere cost of 80cents an hr for 24 months of my life)

A few uhm…unique points young and budding 16 year old kids brought up;

1.females today are apathetic towards this sexual equality thing and they can’t be bothered to help themselves. (you'll be amazed at how they arrived at this; apparently they used the lack of attendance at a seminar educating females on marital rape and their rights. Yes, together now, WHAT?!)

2.because the so called privileges that males enjoy are not far-ranging and complete, when females desire to get the equality for ‘incomplete’ benefits, makes the entire equation ‘incomplete’. (Errr. Whatever –rolls eyes- you might as well say that the entire population is deprived and living in poverty because we are not as well off as bill gates)

bring back the sunshine.

"The world always looks brighter from behind a smile."

maybe we all have to learn. and maybe taking back some words can paint a wider grin.

your silhouette glows.

it makes me pause and think about how our entire lives are built upon small little decisions; how choosing a certain path at that split second would change the outcome of your life. and perhaps in an awkward way, that's why people cling onto memories of pain so tightly. bcos amidst the pain, there is an abundance of happiness. i remember in the not-too-distant-past i told a friend that i choose not to forget bcos choosing to forget means to forget everything that was good, and as much as the memories were painful, it simply served to make the good, better.

sometimes when you stare into the distance,
you see the images.
the ones that once upon a time meant something to you.

twirl me, like a thread around your finger.

"Those who hope in the Lord shall renew their strength.

They shall mount up with wings like eagles.

They shall run and not be weary, walk and not faint."

- Isaiah 40:31

Even when the world spins out of control, I know.

On an aside, I miss sprinting. The feeling of lightness.

the one that stings most.

We all know what pain is. and sometimes it comes in the most awkward of ways. Perhaps even in our metaphysical world, the most gruelling sort of pain isn't physical. It is that sick emotion that feeds on you from within, numbs your world.

Pain is sitting helpless, a distant away from the ones you love, watching them struggle against the odds whilst you can only sit and watch.

"It is our inward journey that leads us through time - forward or back - seldom in a straight line, most often spiraling. Each of us is moving, changing, with respect to others. As we discover, we remember. Remembering, we discover and most intently do we experience this when our seperate journeys converge."-eudora welty
