So the terrorists will just get loaded up with bomb belts and detonate them while they're in the middle of those long lines of people waiting to get scanned and have their baggage X-rayed.

Then what?

We'd have to move the screening to the curb. Then they would roll up in a car or truck bomb.

Then we'd have to have random vehicle inspections on the roadways...

But at least the security and law enforcement growth industries will make more money and we'll lose more of our freedom and privacy.

The solution is an armed, polite population and scrutiny of those who are worthy of suspicion.

While the United States and other countries beef up airport searches for terrorists, an Israeli expert advises that eying passenger behavior is critical for preventing attacks.

Rafi Sela, a security consultant at Ben Gurion International Airport, explained to the Canadian news agency Canwest, "If you have a suicide bomber or somebody who wants to make an impact, he doesn't have to bring down a plane. He can just explode in the middle of this huge crowd that is waiting for security."

Illegal discrimination in H1N1 swine flu vaccinations / flu shots?

Over at Bob's Newheart I read this:
If you are over age 64 and you want the H1N1 flu vaccine (swine flu) forget it! Even if you meet the criteria set forth by the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) you will not be allowed to get the vaccine. I know, today I was refused a shot. This development has great significance for everyone over 64 and especially transplant patients with compromised immune systems.
First of all IF this is indeed, a REGULATION, someone please point me to it by regulation number.

All the material at the two CDC links mentioned in this post and its comments mention that these are RECOMMENDATIONS, e.g..
"the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP) recommended that CDC and immunization programs focus on getting the first doses of 2009 H1N1 vaccine to those people who are more likely to get infected with the 2009 H1N1 flu virus"
Neither the word "regulation" nor "law" appears anywhere on those two pages!

Besides, any age or other discrimination in the provision of GOVERNMENT services would be a violation of the privileges and immunities clause of the 14th Amendment, right?

This prevents the States from creating different classes of persons and discriminating on that basis.

It was included in the Constitution primarily to prevent racial discrimination, but subsequent court decisions have affirmed that it is pretty much total in its scope.

A great example are the various States' laws that had required seniors to have yearly tests for their drivers licenses while those aged less than seniors had only been required to be tested every two or four years. The courts have struck those laws down.

So I think anyone who stands in line should be legally allowed to have the vaccination if he hasn't already.

I'd humbly accept if anyone would show me I'm wrong.

CLARIFICATION: I should clarify that I'm not just speaking of age discrimination. I think any citizen - even those not in any high-risk group - should be able to get an H1N1 vaccination if the government (State or Federal) is giving them to citizens.

An old prospector shuffled into the town of El Indio, Texas leading an old
tired mule. The old man headed straight for the only saloon in town, to
clear his parched throat. He walked up to the saloon and tied his old mule
to the hitch rail. As he stood there, brushing some of the dust from his
face and clothes, a young gunslinger stepped out of the saloon with a gun in
one hand and a bottle of whiskey in the other.

The young gunslinger looked at the old man and laughed, saying, "Hey old
man, have you ever danced?" The old man looked up at the gunslinger and
said, "No, I never did dance... never really wanted to."

A crowd had gathered as the gunslinger grinned and said, "Well, you old
fool, you're gonna' dance now," and started shooting at the old man's feet.
The old prospector, not wanting to get a toe blown off, started hopping
around like a flea on a hot skillet. Everybody was laughing, fit to be
tied.

When his last bullet had been fired, the young gunslinger, still laughing,
holstered his gun and turned around to go back into the saloon. The old man
turned to his pack mule, pulled out a double-barreled shotgun, and cocked
both hammers. The loud clicks carried clearly through the desert air.

The crowd stopped laughing immediately. The young gunslinger heard the
sounds too, and he turned around very slowly. The silence was almost
deafening. The crowd watched as the young gunman stared at the old timer
and the large gaping holes of those twin barrels.

The barrels of the shotgun never wavered in the old man's hands, as he
quietly said, "Son, have you ever kissed a mule's ass?"

The gunslinger swallowed hard and said, "No sir..... but... I've always
wanted to."

There are two lessons for us all here:
  1. Don't waste ammunition.
  2. Don't mess with old people.

Civilian Gun Self-Defense Blog which "tells a broad and - in some cases - surprising story about the nature of self-defense in America". Such as this:

Why I (still) Support the NRA

Yes, they compromise. Far too much.

But as much as a I love and support
Gun Owners of America, Jews for the Preservation of Firearms Ownership, the Second Amendment Foundation, the Citizens Committee for the Right to Keep and Bear Arms, among others, I simply cannot ignore or dismiss the value and influence of the National Rifle Association.

The NRA, with over 4 million members, remains a force to be reckoned with in the halls of Congress. They have a “seat at the table”, to borrow a phrase from the great Rollye James.

NRA programs train tons of people - police and private citizens alike - about firearms and their use.

And they support and assist the creation and all-important protection of shooting ranges all across the nation.

Chances are your local gun club offers NRA courses in basic pistol, self-defense in the home, self-defense outside the home, and many more.

The NRA also publishes three excellent magazines that inform readers about guns, gear, and government as it relates to firearms.

And, recognizing that “arms” also include knives, the NRA worked hard to prevent the US Customs and Border Protection from declaring the majority of common pocket knives illegal “switchblades”.

So as much as I love the other “no compromise” gun rights groups, the NRA still has the biggest of parts to play in protecting our gun rights and promoting the safe use of guns.

Obama "wins" Nobel Peace Prize as NAACP snubs King to praise appeaser Kofi Annan

In its praise of Obama, the NAACP conspicuously failed to mention Martin Luther King, Jr., but they included FIRST on their exemplary list of Nobel Peace Prize* winners one Kofi Annan.

This little man - a consummate appeaser - was the United Nations Secretary General from 1997 through 2007, and here's what he said in his farewell UN appearance when asked to name the best and worst times during his tenure:

“I think the worst moment was the Iraq war which as an Organization we couldn’t stop and I really did everything I can to try to see if we could stop it.”

Yet by May 2001, nearly TWO YEARS before the Iraq War even began, on his own home continent the Congo Civil War (also called "Africa's World War") had already claimed 2.5 million lives.

The Congo Civil War had already bumped the Iran-Iraq War (with as many as 1.5 million dead) from its infamous spot as number two in overall body count next to the 50 million plus death toll of World War Two.

No, no! Iraq was worse!

Well, give that man a prize!

(Oh wait - they already did...)

The World's voters are "getting it", rejecting the left!

I really enjoy Dick Morris' commentary and insight. You may think he's just a domestic political strategist, but he's also pretty solid on economics and foreign policy.

I think his latest column is right on target:
Voters are getting that the cycle of deficit, debt, and inflation is the inevitable consequence of statist economic policies.

Germany's decisive turn away from the left in its national elections signals this sea change in political behavior. After a decade of drift to the left, voters have discovered their bearings and their senses just in time.

Not only did Germany's Social Democratic Party, the world's foremost socialist political organization, lose more than one third of its vote, but the free market Free Democratic Party grew by more than one third. Merkel, who had to govern in coalition with the Socialists, now can indulge her personal philosophy and form a conservative coalition to lead Germany out of the recession. Now, Merkel can, indeed, be the Thatcher of Germany.

The next shoe to drop will be in the United Kingdom where Gordon Brown and his discredited Labor Party trail the Conservatives by seventeen points. London must call for elections by June of 2010. Brown can delay the day of his party's reckoning until then, but it must come.

These conservative triumphs will set the stage for the American Congressional elections of 2010. It seems certain that Republicans will gain enormously although whether or not this surge will be enough to capture either or both Houses of Congress remains to be seen.

Voters get that an orgy of debt can lead to an orgy of inflation. What better nation to teach the world this fact of economic life than one whose nascent democracy was strangled in its cradle by the hyper-inflation of the 20s opening the door to Hitler's ascension to power?
I've been singing this tune since shortly after Obama got elected - that the left will fail and fall.

Let's Re-Arm the British People!

Here's something I just posted on ArmBritain.com, a site devoted to discussing how the right of self-defense can be re-established in the UK:
Greetings to all my British cousins who cherish their God-given Liberty even as your "fellow man" has unjustly taken it from you.

It breaks my heart to see you in the bondage of the State to the degree that you're enduring.

I'll be the first to admit how lucky I am to be an American in this day and age.

But I'd be remiss if I did not mention the debt of gratitude we owe you in the Anglosphere for our Liberty.

Luck and circumstance allowed us here in the US to go beyond the foundation you laid for us to allow us to codify and thus solidify that Liberty.

It has been said that lost Liberty cannot be restored, but those words were spoken in a different day and age, when man could not have been so well-informed and mobilized as he can today.

Yet another old adage states that one must strike while the iron is hot.

This is true with steel, and it is true with politics.

So take heart: Socialism and Statism are on the verge of their inevitable decline in Europe.

Concerted political organization and action in the face of this decline - especially when you add the justifiable fear of ever-increasing Islamization - can present you with an unmatched opportunity to not only take back but to codify and solidify your God-given Liberty.

So set yourselves to work reminding your fellow man that self-defense is not only a civil right, but a duty.

(God gave you life, so you have a right to keep it and defend it, after all)

Remind your neighbors of the Britain of yesterday that stood up to the challenges that threatened its very existence and that was prepared to toil and sacrifice.

This is a battle we cannot fight for you, but you can learn from our successes and failures.

Study what happened here, and what is still happening.

ALWAYS be civil and patient, and pray for wisdom and strength in the face of hysteria and emotion.

Sometimes minds can be hard to change, but young minds are much easier to guide and mentor to appreciate and then fight for Liberty.

Find open ground to plant the seeds of Liberty. Then water them. Nourish them. Many of them will grow to bear fruit long after you as an individual are gone.

To the extent that you can, take neighbors and associates as your guest to gun clubs or to shoot air rifles, etc.

Any time you can introduce someone to any form of shooting - while emphasizing the utmost safety in an environment of camaraderie and enjoyment - you have a good chance of creating a powerful convert and advocate.

Let's face it: When done safely, shooting is downright fun.

And it satisfies a basic and perfectly normal human instinct without harm or threat to anyone or anything.

I would also suggest that you contact certain organizations here in the US - join them if you can - and ask them for help and advice in your struggle:

Female police recruits are being trained up in Helmand, Afghanistan, to fight the drugs trade. Police adviser Janice McManus said she was in awe of the women's bravery and hoped more would join. The BBC's Kate Silverton watched the policewomen testing out their shooting skills.

In 1990, just after celebrating her wedding to long haul trucker Gary, Carla Elam was stunned to learn she had bone cancer. Carla knew there had to be another option to the immediate amputation of her left leg and she found it. She convinced the doctors at Vanderbilt University that they were wrong-- she was not “too old” or “too fat” for limb sparing surgery which uses an implant to replace the cancerous bone.

Carla successfully went through a grueling year long medical regimen and continued to live a full life that ultimately included custody of two grandchildren. Life was great. Cancer rechecks were negative. Even a problem with the implant in her leg was handled by inserting a metal plate. All was well until last December when her leg gave way at a wedding.

The metal plate had broken. This time more extensive surgery was needed but again Carla came through without incident. Or so she thought. In May she believed she had food poisoning. The admitting hospital couldn’t find a cause. After being transferred to a bigger facility, her kidneys shut down and the prognosis was grim. Doctors then discovered the cause: a staph infection had set into her leg. If they did not immediately amputate, it was likely she would not live through the night. And if they did, it was likely that the cut would be so high she might not be able to use a prosthesis.

As Gary said, “Talk about a will to live. She’s always been a fighter and that’s why I married her.” Not only did she come through, but her will to walk was so great that the hospital staff revised their conclusion—Carla would walk again with the proper prosthesis. Within 19 days she was at home, reorganizing her life.

That’s when Carla and Gary discovered that Carla’s ability to walk involved more than her steadfast desire. The prosthesis she would need, a computerized marvel from the Otto Bock Company known as a C-Leg, costs $50,000. Her insurance will not cover it. Colorado Springs police may sell seized firearms

This is a fine idea, especially when supplies are low:
"'We auction off cars. It seems to me there's not that much difference between a firearm and a vehicle," (Vice Mayor Larry) Small said. "We've got a number of homes we've seized. . . . We don't send a bulldozer over to them.'"
I urge you to send a note of thanks to Vice Mayor Small for his common sense.

Property is property, after all.

But often when cops become politicians, liberty can be the first casualty:

IDF Vets Train U.S. Jews to Protect Their Communities

Starting in late July, a group of Israeli combat veterans will be holding a training camp in New York to teach advanced self-defense techniques to Jews in U.S. communities. An increasing number of American Jews have expressed interest in the program following a wave of anti-Semitic incidents worldwide over the past year, organizers report.

The group calls itself Kitat Konenut New York – a reference to the “rapid response teams” active throughout Judea and Samaria. Rapid response teams in Israel, comprised of local civilians who are IDF veterans, have often been the first on the scene of terrorist attacks and other emergencies, and have prevented casualties.

It was founded in 2006 in response to a shooting attack at a Jewish center in Seattle, Washington. One woman was murdered in the attack, and several others were wounded.

The group is apolitical, and does not take part in demonstrations. “Our agenda is to protect Jews,” says group member Yonatan Stern.

However, the group does have a firmly held political belief. “We believe in the constitutional right to bear arms,” Stern says. Kitat Konenut encourages all American Jews to learn how to use weapons, and to purchase their own firearms for self-defense.

Trainees learn the IDF's unique martial arts style, known as Krav Maga, and learn to identify suspicious objects and dismantle improvised explosives. They are also trained to use a variety of both non-lethal and lethal weapons, including assault rifles and sniper rifles. Trainers review techniques to deal with situations ranging from knife fights to urban warfare.

Training this year will begin on July 31 and conclude on August 9.

Dear Senators,

PLEASE represent your State and your country well by voting NO on the nomination of Judge Sonia Sotomayor for the Supreme Court.

I hate to get personal, but she has very clearly been duplicitous on critical issues.

In her rulings and in her prior public pronouncements, she has shown a haughty disdain for the true role and meaning of the Constitution.

In the current hearings before the judiciary committee, she had either dismissed or claimed to be confused about the inseparable natural and civil rights to life and the defense of life, especially innocent life.

I could possibly respect her a little if she would at least be honest about her beliefs and philosophy.

U.S. Soldier Challenges Deployment, Citing Obama's Birth Certificate (or lack thereof)

"Conspiracy theories about where Mr. Obama was born abound in some quarters despite the fact that the Obama campaign posted the then-candidate's Hawaiian birth certificate online last year. Skeptics call the certificate a forgery, though their claims have been repeatedly debunked."
No, it has not been debunked!

The core issue is that they issued a facsimile of a Certification of Live Birth, which is a virtually worthless document that even a non-citizen can be issued.

You can't even work as a janitor in the White House without showing one of those!

The CBS blog continues:
"Now comes word that U.S. Army Maj. Stefan Frederick Cook, a reservist who lives in Florida, is challenging his deployment based on that argument. Reports the Ledger-Enquirer out of Columbus, Georgia: "Cook’s lawyer, Orly Taitz, who has also challenged the legitimacy of Obama’s presidency in other courts, filed a request last week in federal court seeking a temporary restraining order and status as a conscientious objector for his client."
"Cook is arguing that because Mr. Obama isn't really the president (and thus isn't the commander in chief), the soldier "would be acting in violation of international law by engaging in military actions outside the United States under this President's command. ... simultaneously subjecting himself to possible prosecution as a war criminal by the faithful execution of these duties."
The CBS blog says the soldier is being deployed to Iraq. Wrong. He's being deployed to Afghanistan.

The retaliation begins:

"Upon receipt of the revocation (of his deployment orders, without explanation - pupista), Plaintiff Major Cook called his civilian boss, the CEO of Simtech, Inc., a closely held corporation that does DOD contracting in the general field of information technology/systems integration, at which Plaintiff Major was employed until taking a Military Leave of Absence on Friday July 10, 2009, a senior systems engineer and architect, in preparation for his deployment to Afghanistan. (Plaintiff has five Cisco Systems certifications in information technology dating from 2000 and just recertified in June 2009 for the Cisco Certified Design Expert qualification exam.)

"The CEO of Simtech, Inc., Larry Grice, explained to Plaintiff over a series of four conversations within the next two hours, that he had been terminated."

Wouldn't it be funny if folks called to see if they're taking applications for any Cisco-certified I.T. folks?

Here Come the Camps?

"National Emergency Centers Establishment Act"

Rep. Alcee Hastings (D-Disgrace) has proposed an ominous amendment to HR2647. The text of the proposed amendment as introduced says,

“A person associated or affiliated with a group associated with hate-related violence against groups or persons or the United States government, as determined by the Attorney General, may not be recruited, enlisted, or retained in the armed forces.”
Of course the key phrase here is "as determined by the Attorney General".

No due process, just a declaration by a bureaucrat, and you belong to a hate group, are discriminated against, and the "hate group" members and associates (just because Holder says they are, mind you) will have their rights infringed.

Couple that with Rep. Peter King's (R-NY) recent bill, HR2159, and you lose your gun rights, too.

Iran: Neda Dies on Camera (graphic video)



UPDATE: Jun 23: BBC has more, including from her fiancee. She was apparently named Neda Agha-Soltan and was with her music teacher, not her father, and had gotten out of the car in a traffic jam.


According to a post today at Infidel Bloggers Alliance, the beautiful young woman felled on the streets of Iran by the mullah's thugs was Neda Soltani.

The above is purported to be a photo of her, and below is a a second video from LiveLeak of her death throes, this from a different angle.

As awful as it is to watch, it is important.

As the video unfolds, she seems to be in shock, so we might comfort ourselves that she is unaware.

The screams of her father grow as we see the life escaping from her.

And this on Father's Day.

May she not have died in vain...

Let's all say, "I am an Iranian"

If you look at the time lines of the previous Iranian revolution, or the more recent people-powered revolutions in Poland, Czechoslovakia, Romania, Ukraine, etc., you'll see that these protests in Iran will need to go on for weeks or even months if they have a realistic chance to overthrow the regime of the "mullah mafia" there.

They'll need our help!

The best ways I've seen suggested to help the anti-regime forces are these:
  • Simple but exhaustive and effective do-it-yourself denial of service attacks against the Iranian regime's networks here.
  • Short but sweet Cyberwar guide for Iran elections here.
Among the latter's best advice:
"1. Do NOT publicise proxy IP's over twitter, and especially not using the #iranelection hashtag. Security forces are monitoring this hashtag, and the moment they identify a proxy IP they will block it in Iran."
"4. Help cover the bloggers: change your twitter settings so that your location is TEHRAN and your time zone is GMT +3.30. Security forces are hunting for bloggers using location and timezone searches. If we all become 'Iranians' it becomes much harder to find them."
Reminiscent of JFK's "I am a Berliner" speech, we can all "be" an Iranian and help bring positive change to millions of lives.

I think both these posts have excellent suggestions and I would urge EVERYONE to read both and take their advice.

The world's youth are always looking to be part of a movement that will change the world for the better.

The bad news: Obama isn't it.

The good news: This almost certainly will be if it is successful.

Let our motto be, "I am an Iranian".

His mom committed suicide when he was 12. One of his brothers also committed suicide.

Another sibling had a fatal heart attack. One of his teenage daughters has cerebral palsy.

And, he's a Mormon convert. There but for the Grace of God go I...

To those who think he acts crazy, I'd say he's earned it.

And to have so much success in spite of such adversity says a lot about him and about America.

Or what's left of what we call "America" as we undergo Barack Obama's makeover...

Somebody made a comment about my YouTube channel profile picture, which mocks Che Guevara, saying, "What a way to diss one of the greatest revolutionaries of time."

That tripped my trigger...

Surprise! Radical Obama Nominates Radical Sonia Sotomayer to Supreme Court

As much as I hate to insult garbage (since it can't help what it is, after all) this "Judge Somodmizer" is nothing more than human garbage.

Anyone who deliberately denies or takes liberty or property from others without just cause is a tyrant.

Plain and simple.

And we all know what tyrants deserve....

She has voted against gun rights, saying that the Second Amendment does not secure an individual right and that it does not apply to the States.

She has voted against using a cost-benefit analysis when considering environmental regulation (read that as an unjust taking of property and liberty).

She has voted to throw out a test used to determine which firefighters should receive promotions, simply because no black firefighters taking the test were able to pass it.

Americans should not be hyphenated or segregated and they should not be classified when it comes to rights, privileges, or immunities.

After all, look at one portion of section 1 of the 14th Amendment of the Constitution:

"No State shall make or enforce any law which shall abridge the privileges or immunities of citizens of the United States; nor shall any State deprive any person of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law; nor deny to any person within its jurisdiction the equal protection of the laws."

Isn't this the law of the land?

No, sorry... Sotomayer is one of those radical liberals who believes that the Constitution is a "living" document whose interpretation must change with the times, and that one must take into account "feelings" and "life experience" when ruling from the bench.

This is of course in sharp contrast to what the Framers intended, which was acting as an “umpire calling balls and strikes” as Justice Roberts so aptly put it.

Feelings should follow facts, not the other way 'round.

Call your Senators today and tell them you want the Constitution respected, not rejected.

Tell them to vote “NO” on Sotomayer!

Solution to RFID Chips in Currency? Rolling Mills!





























Depending on their configuration, hand-cranked rolling mills are used to grind grain and to create foil out of metal, among other uses.

I think these handy devices would be perfect to destroy RFID chips that may be implanted in our currency at some point in the future.

Standard U.S. currency is about 67mm wide with a thickness of just under .11mm, so this particular mill's 76mm side rollers will be plenty wide enough, even if you have to (or want to) insert several bills at once.

You may even want to get creative by inserting such fiat bills between sheets of sandpaper for extra crushing force if your mill of choice won't accept such thin (or thinly veiled) inputs as Federal Reserve notes.

I'm not necessarily recommending
this brand or model, but it is certainly one good example of a hand-operated mill that should very effectively crush any unwanted items which have been inserted into your folding "money".

And while you're at it, why not have some fun using it to crush grain for your future survival? Or making gold foil and gold leaf with a small part of your gold supply?

Your gold supply...

You know, your hedge against the inevitable future inflation and currency devaluation that is sure to follow Obama's so-called "stimulus" act.

On Friday May 15th
on the the Glenn Beck TV show on the Fox News channel, the focus will be on guns, but more specifically on bills pending in several States which reassert State rights in the face of Federal gun laws.

The entire show will be devoted to this critical issue.

This huge challenge to the massive overreaching of the Federal government under the color of the interstate commerce clause of the Constitution could shake the Republic back to its foundations.

Dare I say this could be that monumental?
Absolutely.



And yes, there may be holes in this law in Montana. But if nothing else, it is a damned fine start.

If the worst is true - that we may need a Constitutional amendment to clarify the interstate commerce clause and nullify its violations - then it won't take place before 2011 at the earliest...

So let's get ready to throw the rascals bastards out in 2010.



But, in the thirty-plus years I've been interested and involved in political issues, this development gives me the most hope ever that we may possibly return to Constitutionality.

I get a cold chill as I watch these videos, and my heart dares to fill with hope that the words of Benjamin Franklin can again ring true.

When asked at the close of the 1787 Constitutional Convention what form of government had been bestowed on America, Franklin replied, "
A republic if you can keep it".

Indeed.
