Let me start with the day I left Singapore. I fell sick and went to see a doc =( boohoohoo.. Anyways, I was busy packing and unpacking, not sure what to bring or not to bring. In the end, my check in luggage was only 20.5kg.. (my suitcase itself weighs 5 kg!!) Thanks to gera, sok, shimmie and pooh for sending me off!!! Realli touched and happy to see u guys at the airport at such unearthly hours.. I love u guys! =)

And my family as well.. I'll see you all in 5 mths time =D will miss u all..





Took a jetstar flight. The seats were abit cram but well its a cheap flight so I don't mind at all. I happened to select a seat at the window near the wings =)

After I reach hk airport, I wanted to call home but I was so stupid that I didn't know I must select the network manually so I could call with my Singapore num. Went to 7-eleven quickly to get a peoples sim card and called home! After which, I took airport express train down to Hong Kong Station to meet my buddy's nurse, Erica. Actually I could have taken A10 which will go directly to my residence. Anyways, took a cab to Patrick Manson Building. I was so silly. I forgot to get an octopus card on my way! And I have no small change. Plus the transport system is quite confusing, I was stuck at sassoon road, not knowing how to get to the main campus. Luckily I met Amanda. She is really nice and cute. She's from canada, but she is chinese and she can speak cantonese very fluently. She was with her dad and together we went to the main campus on the minibus and we did our admin stuff tog. After the whole afternoon of admin stuff, I am supp to go wanchai to meet Jo (nus exchange student also) and her bf. I have no guide or street directory whatsoever and I didn't really wanna ask anybody. so I decided to just follow ppl ard. HAHA.. I was on the main campus and I follow this guy to hku's gate. There was a busstop and luckily there are infor on the bus routes at the busstop. Managed to find a bus that goes to admiralty MTR though I have no idea how to recognise where to stop. The ride seemed long and I wondered if I had overshot. Fortunately I waited.. and suddenly alot of ppl were alighting. HAHA! Must be this stop le! So i alighted as well.. and YAYS admiralty station =) (I live in admiralty in singapore too) took MTR to wanchai. It was peak hours and everyone just pushed and pushed to squeeze in as many ppl as possible. and the train doors always have to close and open twice before the doors can close properly. Anyways, i felt relieved to meet a familar face=) We went to buy our quilt and my pillow and stuff and we had like alot of shopping bags!! so auntie.. Went to weilun hall to drop jo's stuff first then jo helped me to bring stuff back to my room. It was so cold and windy and we were like screaming away as we walk from her hall to mine. HAHA.. she helped me clean my room a little. Thanks Jo. The first night was freaking cold. I wore my jacket and thin socks and when i woke up, my feet were frozen. HAHA. ok I know 10deg is not very cold as compared to places with snow, but yar, i'm so used to our sunny island so it is veri cold to me.

Anyways, that was basically my first day in Hong Kong.. 2nd day was orientation. So we went for the orientation and knew a few more singaporeans and more ppl staying at Patrick Manson. Ate lunch together at the global lounge. After which i went to do more admin stuff and try to get my internet on. and YES i got it on =D ok i'm an internet addict i would say. I really feel disconnected when I don't have internet and handphone with me. HAHA.. anyways I went to Fortress Hill to find Wenting. YES she was in Hong Kong with her mum for a few days. We had dinner at 大家乐.. confusing ordering system. But we have the same system in our sch's "canteen" .. Place ur orders first and then collect ur food inside and find a seat. Anyways I shop ard a while, bought wife biscuits and 2 new jackets. I was at admiralty when Jo called me and coincidentally she was at admiralty too so we both went back to our dorm tog. We decided that i should stayover at her place since both our roomies have not move in yet. Bec the hall security is rather strict, we were thinking of all kinda plans and excuses bec its quite suspicious to bring pillow and quilt into her hall.. anyways yup, spent my second nite in her room=D it was a little warmer than the first nite but still freaking cold to me..


The 3rd day! I went out to explore central area with De Lai and Shiho (japanese girl) We took a tram up the victoria peak in the afternoon. Nice scenery up there! but was quite cold and windy.. Took lotsa pictures up there. After which we walked ard central area and took the mid-level escalator, the longest series of escalators here.. and walk and walk and walk.. hahaha. went to sun yat sen museum and the zoological gardens on our way.. then we walk to the pier to take star ferry over to tsim sha tsui to meet jo and co for steamboat.. I was super bloated after that meal but it was a good meal.


The 4th day I went out with Jade and Nicole (from LA) to wanchai, causeway bay area to just walk ard.. we wanted to just take a look at the protest going on at the victoria park. But we din have to go there bec we saw them at the streets in wanchai.. Its regarding the israeli attack on Gaza i think.. can't elaborate.. I'm not very updated with current affairs. haha.. but its just that we dun get to see these kinda things in singapore, do we? hahaha.. u can hardly see any protests on the streets in singapore.. just walk ard the causeway bay area and had street food.. yummy.. plus some desserts.. after which went to westwood for grocery shopping.. nthg much alr.


The 5th day is monday!! the first day of sch~! Well, i was a little surprised that the professors here print notes for them!! and my medical engin class is sooooo small.. only like 20 plus ppl in a class! So its kinda like a tutorial class than a lecture.. But i have been feeling so sleepy in class.. monday class is until 930pm~!! =(

Tues is my FREE DAY =) So met up with weixin, Kathy and Eun Joo joined us as well.. We took MTR to Tung Chung Station on Lantau island and then took bus 23 to the Big Buddha! Its so hilly and the roads are so winding.. But i kinda like it there =) the greenery and Big Buddha.. Pictures speak a thousand words.. Let me just post some photos here.




After we came back from lantau island, we went to a club call tribeca at wanchai.. It was like 80HKD for girls and there's open bar.. Actualli all i did was to stand at the bar and drink and drink. dance a little but the music was too loud! We left like at 1am and my ears were hurting.. I think we talked damn loudly on our way back and even in our dorm.. haha.. But anyways, taxi here is kinda cheap and we paid only SGD$3 each to get back..


Wednesday.. i did my laundry for the first time.. The dryer drove me crazy coz I think each time i pay, it only turns for 5min-_- so i paid 2 times thinking that it shud dry my clothes but it din. Was kinda time consuming to go up and down the stairs waiting for the dryer so i hang them up to dry instead.. haha.. time consuming! After that went mongkok with jade and her hk friend.. I had like cheese ramen.. so fattening =( hahaha.. shop a little while, din get anything though.. then went to had dessert again!!! oh man.. hahaha..


Thursday i asked shinglam out. such a coincidence rite, he is doing his internship in hk now.. anyways we went tsim sha tsui for dinner.. had macau food.. supp to be a nice restuarant.. i dun rmb the name though.. hahaha.. then we went to the avenue of stars.. din take much photos there coz quite touristy.. Anyways we walked up to a park (more like a concrete park) then went to the playgrd to play swing =D hahaa. then took some photos before we head back to hall..


Friday was boring at first.. we had lessons and then went to westwood for grocery shopping.. shopping and shopping.. i seeeeeeeeeeee plum liqueur~~~~ cheap! 125HKD for 1800ml!!!!.. oh i can't stand it, i had to buy it!! and one pint of erdinger only cost me 16HKD.. hahahaha.. i was so damn happy and i bought them =D went back to dorm and had an in-house drinking party in our common room.. haha.. share the plum wine with the girls. It comes in a carton and looks really harmless, like plum juice.. hahaha.. Its sweeter but lesser alcoholic content as compared to choya.. choya there is quite cheap as well.. hahaha.. anyways, we just chill at the common room and talk nonsense! haha.. We had fun though =)

Today, saturday we went for a tour organised by the sch to kowloon and new territories.. nthg veri special.. had a great dinner though, at the kennedy town.. we had like a set chinese dinner for 8 ppl.. it was realli nice and filling.. ard 20SGD.. quite worth the money=)

I can't believe i'm here for only one week plus.. I felt that i've been here for quite some time! haha. though i'm still not veri familar with stuff.. I get ard mostly with mandarin bec my canto sucks.. But i do miss everyone in singapore.. i'll have to wait for another 5 months before i see everyone again!! haha.. miss everyone =) but i'm not homesick so dun worry.. i call home everyday since the calls are so cheap..

There's another tour tml ard hong kong island, hope we get to eat good food tml!!! I've been eating alot of 大家乐 bec its everywhere! near my dorm, on campus, and everywhere else i go to.. hahaha.. alrights.. my blog is rather boring but i just wanna rmb my experiences =) will update soon!!!

This is my first post since I reached Hong Kong. I have been going out, busy settling down so haven't had the time to really sit down and pen down my thoughts. I shall do that later in the afternoon. Today is my first day of school, kinda lazy to go for lessons actually =P but everyone else is excited so I can't help but feel a little excited too. I'm waiting for my first class to start now, tissue engineering.. The class is rather small and there's only 2 girls including me. Hmmm. seems like medical engineering here is dominated by males.. but maybe its too small a sample size to tell. alrights i guess lesson is gg to start soon. Later..
