It was what I like to call a Red Letter Day the other morning at our house. Kids were up and at it early, dressed, rooms clean, hair done, chores done, bags packed and time for hot chocolate and whipped cream.
K was long gone at seminary.
Gotta love it.
Um, no I do NOT make Logan wear a shirt and tie to school usually. He had a field trip that day. Which he later told me was B-O-R-ING. Don't you just love that type of description from the kids?
Saw this little number peeking out of the bushes the other day. Love that things are beginning to bloom again. And it's only February. Ahhhh, the California winter.
Here's just a couple of shoes I'd like to have right now. The list is lengthy.... I'll add more later, as to not scare everyone with my love of shoes. I might even throw in some handbags.... have a serious problem with those too.
Watch this video. Some friends of ours from Austin are in it. In addition to that, it's a great New Year's Message! You'll have to pause the music at the bottom of my blog.
Luke was here for a visit recently! The kids had a great time seeing him again. It's been forever! They enjoyed lunch at Farrell's and even took on the Pig's trough. (You'd think they could have named it something more appetizing). Hopefully the girls can come out soon too. We miss you guys!
Truth be told, I'm not a huge gingerbread house fan. I usually try to dodge the questions from the kids about doing these. They seem so messy and something about how they never really stand up, then no one eats them, they just go into the trash, ya-da, ya-da, ya-da.... BUT, this one...... GREAT one! I would HIGHLY recommend this one. It comes in a package with EVERYTHING you need and it actually stands up, and is eatable. It was so cute and the kids had a great time piping on the frosting and placing each little candy. And the gingerbread.....ooooo, it looked and tasted yummy. Thanks to our friends for dropping this little treasure at our doorstep. You've permanently changed my Scrooged opinion on gingerbread houses!
Proud artists. BTW, it's from TJ's..... no kidding, huh? I love that place!
We took the kids to the Aquarium of the Pacific for New Year's Eve. We thought it would be fun to do something different. Plus the Queen Mary was having a Fireworks show for the holiday!
Claire couldn't believe the size of this fish. As big as her.
Future Marine Biologist?
He loves, loves, loves this stuff. Although, this picture might seem to tell a different story.....
Here are just a few of the things we saw. There's tons more.
Touching the sharks.
Hands on with the sting rays. This place reminded me of our trip to Atlantis.
Star fish and sea anemones.
We are enjoying living near the ocean.
Love the beach. Looking forward to another beautiful summer here!
Ended the night with dinner and some fireworks.
Good Bye 2010.
Welcome 2011!
