January

January truly is a complete blur for me, if it weren't for pictures and our calendar I'd have no idea what happened.

We celebrated our 8th anniversary with a trip to the Jazz game and a night at the Little America Hotel.
We went to the aerial finals at Deer Valley. We happened to find a great spot to stand and watch with a great view. However, it was also right next to the speakers which were blasting very loud music along with the announcements. This sent Cpc's sensory system into a complete funk and we had to leave before it was over. He was running around crashing his body into us as hard as he could. Sometimes we forget that he even has SPD, but nights like that remind us all too well that he deals with a lot.
We did get some winter, although it wasn't nearly as much as we would have liked. We enjoyed riding in the snowcat a bit.
We got to attend some more Utah Basketball. The kids are being well-trained as Utah fans by Daddy!

We enjoyed some good cuddles in a warm bed most mornings!
We said goodbye to a missionary who was in our ward before we moved from Sugar House, and then happened to get to be in our ward up here too.
We got to enjoy the Aquarium with cousins.
Many goofy times are had with these little munchkins.
For Christmas I gave the kids a snowman kit - complete with a corncob pipe, buttons, cashmere scarf, black hat with holly berries and pieces of real coal. We got snow in January, but the weather never aligned quite right and snowman snow was just not happening. One day Cpc got fed up with me telling him it just wasn't possible to build a snowman and went out and made one out of chunks of snow he found. That is one determined little kid.
Cdc really loved the huge icicles that hung off the house, and often turned them into things like guns.
We enjoyed the cold weather and snow on the road by the house so much that we spent many evenings sledding. The kids were thrilled at the idea of having a heater out there to warm up - however, it turns out the heat did a much better job of heating mom and dad's heads than the kids, so we returned it with much disappointment. However, later on we found a short one that we've enjoyed having, and will probably even use on cool nights all through the summer!
We made gingerbread for our first time. It was a fun activity, but we all discovered we don't love gingerbread that much.
Cdc was proud of his dog though. He said it was "Woodruff" - his special dog he sleeps with each night.
Cdc also celebrated his 5th birthday! He was pleased as punch with a simple churro at Costco.
I can't remember the reasons, but his planned birthday sledding shindig with cousins didn't work out. But he ended up perfectly content to blow out a green candle and open presents on his actual birthday.
Cpc and Arc worked hard to earn the money to buy him these special gifts. He also got the "Hunter" outfit he asked for along with some real pop guns daddy made him! How do you like Arc's finger in her nose?
Along with all of that, looking at the calendar it looks like we had many other playdates with friends - apparently didn't take pictures for those however. But it's good to see that we're blessed with good friends.

Oh and all that sledding was done in this outfit.

This girl. She hiked up the road over and over tonight for this little thrill.

F.U.N. stands for family unity night. Last week we went to the aerial finals at Deer Valley. Living in park city is so fun!

Not sure if you can see them - but the kids love helping daddy drive this massive machine. Anna insisted it was her turn today. I still can't believe we get to live in this enchanted place!
