September was a FUN month! We started homeschool, and the boys REALLY liked that. So did Arc actually. It's kind of tricky to figure out the schedule, but the kids have been pretty patient with it overall.

This is what our "first day of school" looked like.

The boys did an assignment/experiment so we could get a membership to the Leonardo museum. We blew up this plastic bag with vinegar and baking soda.

Pmc's rides. He keeps trying to sell the motorcycle, and he really puts in a good effort, but for some reason we still have no takers. I have to admit, we both really like it. Pmc also bought a truck, and it has been so great to have here on the property.

One day on our way home we found that this garter snake had been killed somehow on our road. So we decided to use it for school - we investigated possible ways it was killed, and dissected it a little bit. The boys totally loved that. I love that about homeschooling - there's just always things to learn about, and we feel like we have the time to just follow where experience leads.

I took the kids to the Ogden Temple Open House. They really liked getting a chance to go inside the temple.

After the temple we drove to Logan to visit my dad, by the time we drove home they were WIPED out. That was a LONG field trip day (with homeschool we have field trip day once a week - I LOVE that).

Pmc took me on a bike-ride date. It was so fun to ride together, we haven't done that (without a bike trailer) since we lived in NY.

This is the view from our front porch, isn't it beautiful? We love seeing hot-air balloons - usually on a weekly basis.

Cpc did a summer reading challenge that earned him a free ticket to the fair - plus it's a great homeschooling activity, so we had our first adventure to the Utah State Fair. The kids and I went down early while Pmc worked, and we did all the educational stuff, and then Pmc joined us and we rode rides and got funnel cakes. It was a blast.

Our local hospital had a little fair, and it was also a great homeschool field trip.

Arc loved her butterfly. I couldn't believe how well she held still to get her face painted.

Our first harvest from our garden. We might have gotten more had I not totally missed the first freeze!

Field trip to the Utah Olympic Park. This place is awesome, and we hope to take better advantage of it next summer, seeing as it is literally in our backyard.

Arc freaked out when I told her finger painting time was over after this. I need to do this more.

Glad this spider was up at the Lodge and not on our house. It was ginormous. We saw it there for a couple weeks actually.

This is the field across from our driveway. We also got to see the Autumn Aloft balloon festival here in Park City, which was reinstated after like 25 years.

The paragrine falcons like our house!

Bedtime for Bonzo's.

Family playtime in our field.

My youngest cousin, Cje is getting married next month. We had a blast at her wedding shower. I love this girl!

Arc and cousin Mbc at the cabin! Good playmates these days.
Cdc and cousin Mec got a little tuckered out at the cabin.

Cpc was lucky enough to win special VIP passes to an event at Rio Tinto Stadium. He got to do a special clinic with 3 of the RSL players. He was so excited, and so happy about it. He was also so sad when it was over.

Pmc got to go with him to watch, and he said he did pretty well playing.

Also this month, we started our homeschool co-op which is turning out to be exactly what we need! It is a great group - once a week, 2 hours of classes and 1 hour of lunch/socializing. The kids are making good friends and enjoying getting to be taught by someone other than me! Cpc is taking Choir and Anatomy, Cdc is taking Music and Literature. They've already made some good friends in their classes. They also have latched onto some friends from church - a family with two boys just their ages, and we're having some good playdates with them as well!
I started attending an adult tap class in SLC each week, and Aunt Cse is watching the kids while I do that. It's giving me some great personal time to do something I love each week, and they love that time with her!
