February

Maybe it's just because she has long hair - but Arc is by far our messiest child when it comes to eating. She ends up in the bath WAY too many nights for me!
Cpc got to go to a Utes basketball games with dad and Papa. He insisted dad send me a picture of the treats he got every time a certain number of points were scored.
February was a big month for Cpc. We have been talking about homeschooling for a long time. We finally decided that we would take the plunge for a myriad of reasons. But Cpc really wanted to enjoy the class Valentine's party, and Pmc and I had signed up to help with it. So we decided that Valentine's Day would be his official last day of school. Pmc and I made this fun activity for his class, which the class really enjoyed. Pmc and I enjoyed doing it, and we actually enjoyed helping the class with it too.

Cpc really did pretty well in school, but he ended up having all of his good, happy time at school. Then after he came home he was pretty grouchy and angry the rest of the day. I'm not sure if it was just exhausting for him or what, but it really made things hard on all of us. He had a hard time getting ready for school on time as well, and we didn't feel like he needed that kind of stress. He enjoyed being with the other kids, and even enjoyed doing his homework, although it was stuff that was quite easy for him. He made some good friends, and he really liked his school. He especially loved computer lab, library day and P.E. After resolving a lot of concerns with Cpc in our visits at the Children's Center, ultimately we decided it was best for our whole family to try out homeschooling for the rest of the year.

Even though Cpc hadn't officially finished going to public school, we kicked off our homeschooling adventure by getting pretty into the Olympic Games. We used them to learn about geography, countries, sports, etc. It was a blast!
Cpc LOVES to make things with his "Make-do" set Cdc bought him for his birthday. He made these robots to send in to Make-do.
I'm not sure how we ended up with it, but we got one of these plates you can draw on and then bake it to set. So the kids came up with a design together to make a special family birthday plate!
Pmc loves playing ball whenever he can get the chance - this ward hasn't had many opportunities, but he takes them when he can. He's the one in the yellow with the ball.
When Arc had this bow on I just couldn't get the image of Iggy Threadgoode out of my mind. What do you think?

Cpc came up with this village at the park, I adore his creativity.
I think I have three seriously cute kids.
As part of homeschooling, we got to visit a great art display in the art gallery at the zoo. There was some fantastic art of the animals - sculptures, paintings, quilts, etc. So as we finished walking through the gallery I told they kids they would each get to do their own artwork of an animal when we got home. I told them to choose an animal and what they would use for their artwork. Cpc said turtle/pen, and Cdc said Zebra/colored pencil. I absolutely LOVE both of these. I'm really impressed as well by Cdc's abstractness. You can't see his black colored pencil very well, but it's there!
Storytime with Daddy is always a little more special than with Mommy.
I have taught my kids to love the rain. I seriously love the rain.

Overachieving parents in helping with the kindergarten valentine party? That is a homemade bow and arrow for the kids to be cupid, complete with a heart halo! All the credit goes to Pmc for the design and carryout. But that is my handiwork with the exact o knife on cupid!

Violin

If only my mother had known how easy it could be to get me to practice....
Now I just wish my muscles would be a little forgiving of the years of neglect.
