Anyhow, I am finally taking this beautiful Sabbath morning to put something in writing. I feel super blessed to have this time this morning. See, there is a local high school kid that got the Measles. So there's a really high chance that many people in our ward (local congregation) have been exposed to it. So, since Cdc hasn't had his MMR immunization yet, we decided it would be crazy to take him to church! So I'm home with him, and Pmc has vowed that he and Cpc will wash up the moment they get home from church to prevent carrying it to Cdc. Well, the moment that they left for church Cdc begged to go to bed (how did this kid get so opposite of Cpc?), he was literally reaching for his bed and crying. So I just spent the last hour studying some talks from General Conference (a meeting our church holds every 6 months in which church business is conducted, and many of the apostles speak to us - which is broadcast worldwide), and some related scriptures. And now I can spend the next little blogging!
We are all so grateful for General Conference around here. We felt "nourished by the good word of God." We are so grateful to have a Prophet and Apostles on the earth today to give us guidance pertaining directly to our day. I know the Heavens are not closed, but are open. I know that I can receive personal revelation for me and my family, and that the Prophet and Apostles have authority to receive revelation for the world. And we did receive revelation, and I know that it's true because I've prayed and asked my Heavenly Father, and received personal revelation concerning it's truth. This is the foundation of my life. My testimony that Jesus is the Christ, and my personal Savior has been strengthened. I know I can make it through my trials because of Him. I know that as I try my hardest, He will make up for what I lack.
So I think I'll start off with pictures, that will get me rolling on what's been going on around here I think. Just know that not one of these has even been slightly edited, half are from my phone camera - and I'm not even going to let it get to me. I have decided I am not a fan of picasa except for uploading pictures to blogger - because when I edit a picture it only edits the picasa version, not the actual jpeg, and that irks me. I have years worth of pictures that I've taken the red-eye out, but not on the actual jpeg. WHAT? That's a waste of time. I want a mac, and some good photo-editing software. How about a digital SLR while I'm at it huh? Why do some things waste our time so? Enough of my rant. Sorry. On to more important things.
These are in NO order whatsoever, and I'm not going to fix it either!
We were loving our bike rides until it decided to be winter again. Actually I don't mind the snow at all except it's limiting the fun outdoor activities we were really loving! The boys are loving bike rides in here!!!
Cpc's first snowman! Ok, really I made the whole t
Skiing with Aunt Cse
Isn't she an awesome aunt? Cpc is getting pretty good at skiing too.
No I didn't really ski with him on my belly, but I did with him on my back - we just never got a picture. He loved it though!
He asks at least once a week "ah we go-ee to duh see re-soht?" (Are we going to the ski resort?)
Cdc is a pretty cute sleeper. I think he fell asleep looking for his dog under there.
Fun times with daddy at work. They LOVE riding this thing.
Cpc's pretend play skills are out of this world. I love watching him play. He was CLEARLY going to sleep!
Cdc prefers to drive...
Cpc would rather fill 'er up!
Cpc is awesome at drawing circles - Pmc thinks he was trying to draw hearts though!
Premiering Pmc's big accomplishment at work - a Lithium powered Golf Cart. If you want one call us, he'd be happy to hook you up. These things blow lead acid AND gas OUT OF THE WATER!!!! It may be a slightly larger up-front cost, but you save big in the end! Know any golf courses that want to switch?
These boys LOVE their train table.
Totally unsolicited smiles.
OH, there he is asleep again - sorry for the double dosage!
Our awesome hike to Ensign Peak - it was SUPER muddy. Cpc was not happy about that, but I thought it was a blast. Isn't there something backwards about that?
I LOVE dressing these boys all matchy-matchy! They LOVE going to the park and picking up sticks, and then throwing them in the river. They almost like that more than the playground.
St. Patrick's Day at storytime. My boys have BIG heads. There were five-year-olds who didn't need the extender on the headband - oh but both my boys did.
Even though Cpc HATED the mud, he LOVED playing with cornstarch. But the next day when we went to Momsey's office he was finally totally okay with playing with sand. I'm so proud of him pushing his limits.
Cpc's cousin J?O came to play with us for a couple days. These two had a blast, oh, and Cdc under there too - he was a little jealous of having a new rival that Cpc could beat up on instead of him. Or maybe that was relief.
They loved the new quiliting exhibit at the Museum too.
This is Cpc on the day he got a migraine. It was so sad, we went downtown on the train, which he'd been begging to do. We went to the library for storytime and about halfway through storytime just started acting really weird all the sudden. Luckily he slept it off really well. I was so grateful for the Beco though, it would have been a nightmare to carry both those kids back to the train and everything. We think his trigger was yogurt - he'd had it 3 days in a row. We're hoping that was it, but we'll just keep watching.
Well, I think we've finally come up with some plans - but I'm going to wait a few days to get some more firm details before I share. For now, I'm content with the fact that I'm handling things a lot better - including my anxiety that has been pretty severe for the past little while. I think Pmc will start posting again soon. But we'll just have to wait and see.
Oh, and I have to just share a few cute things before I forget them. Cpc picks up new songs so easily. Whenever he does someone mean to someone we ask him if he wants a "happy family" and he of course says yes, and then we tell him that if that person is hurt then we're not quite a happy family. Then he proceeds to try to help that person feel better and tells us we're a happy family. He can sing the complete "My hands" song from the Primary Children's songbook all by himself, actions included. Did I already share that? I'm not sure. Cdc can do a few of the actions too, including folding his arms at the end. We like to sing that song to get us ready to say a prayer. Cpc also learned to recognize "Prez-dent Moh-son" (President Monson) for General Conference, as well as "Prez-dent Ook-dohf" (President Uchtdorf). He also spends most of his time in the car repeating the same questions of "ah we go-ee to .....?" He knows which way we go to most places including the ski resort, toy store, tool store, grocery store, museum, planetarium, bowling, daddy's work, grams and papa's house, grammie and boba's house, momsey's office, the cabin, and momsey's house. When we drive to daddy's work he always prefers for us to drive the "stayt" (straight) way to work instead of turning left. He can point out any McDonald's put really only likes to go there for the playground. He loves to get Jamba smoothies.
Cdc has learned to say "bah" (ball) and is very vocal about letting us know anytime there is a ball in sight. He doesn't much care for reading books, but he does like looking for pictures of balls. He has learned how to give closed-mouth kisses, including puckering and saying "mmm" in anticipation. He also loves to tease us and turn away from kisses. He talks about "da-da-da-da" a lot, but still prefers to be with mommy most of the time. He has a favorite corner on the train table where he likes to put his train through the tunnel and could spend an hour or more doing it over and over again. He is still the pickiest eater on the planet, including changing his preferences from day to day. Since we simply won't cater to him because it is just too difficult, he mostly eats breakfast and lunch and goes without dinner. He will always eat grains - which we almost always have at breakfast and lunch, but he is anti most vegetables and meats. Funny kid. He doesn't like using the words he knows when he's supposed to, so he whines a lot which gets on all our nerves. But we love him with all our hearts!
I am not going to go through and edit this, so my sincerest apologies for the complete scatter-brain-ness that it is.
