So, first of all....we have an announcement to make. We're going to have another baby in February. Yes, we're just trying to keep up with Se and Cdee. No, actually this was a total accident, that we're totally excited about! We had planned to wait until we got settled in New York, but clearly there were bigger and better plans laid out for us. I took two tests, just to make sure I hadn't messed it up or something.
Next on the list is the time we've gotten to spend at Bear Lake. We're so glad Momsey and Grandpa Don bought a cabin up there! Cpc has had a blast playing in the sand, especially when he gets to help knock down Daddy's sand castles! He also really enjoys spending time with his Aunts & Uncle....ESPECIALLY Uncle Hdhe. They seem to have a special bond! I have loved getting in some waterskiing, and watching our favorite Bear Lake storms.
The Cosmic Orbitor is our favorite addition to Bear Lake lately however. We used to have one of these in my backyard when I was little, our next-door neighbor was the one who invented/made them. This one is in bad shape, but apparently they're going to fix it. We absolutely LOVE our own little Fair ride.
We also got a mini-trip up to South Dakota for an Eyre Family Reunion. It was short, but oh so sweet. I really enjoyed letting Cpc get to know his cousins. He and Lmze always enjoy one another, but the extra time with the older cousins was especially fun for him. His oldest cousin Tam just dotes on him! I'm happy to have him look up to Tam, since he just got baptized! Our three big activities for the family reunion were: visiting the lake which is on National Treasure 2, visiting Mt. Rushmore, and attending a Chuckwagon Dinner.
Getting to wear Lmze's sweater as we walked around the lake, so he looked like a girl.
And sharing everyone's Diet Coke's during the Chuckwagon show.
We went back in time one night as we got the privilege of driving an old Model A around the block. We really really love the horn, and Pmc enjoyed driving it, but says he still prefers modern cars!
Our bikes were not easy to put back into working order (after living at an apartment where we didn't have room for them), but we did it and are enjoying some stints around the neighborhood. We're grateful that the valley is staying so green this summer. Cpc loves the flowers everywhere too. He treats them the same way he treats dogs.....gets close enough to touch, but then gets scared and backs away laughing!
Cpc has also enjoyed showing off his faces lately. He's come up with quite a number of expressions. The following being our favorite. He gives this when he thinks you are going to give him something he REALLY wants, like Chocolate! Our least favorite is his new tantrum face. Whenever we say "No" or "Don't" he gives this face. We haven't gotten a picture yet, but he pushes his bottom lip up and gets ready to cry. Often it is followed with a whine of sorts, which we're tired of already. Usually the face and the whine disappear immediately upon getting what he wants, or a distraction. I have never been so entertained in my life. I'm getting better at keeping the smiles, laughing, and giggling to myself though.
Now, as for the post title....so far we've only shared the good. Now comes the bad, and the UGLY! A few weeks back, when I was about 7 weeks pregnant, I started bleeding. After speaking with quite a few people we decided I should go to the ER. They looked at the baby, and everything was fine other than a little bleeding around the embryo sac. So, they just recommended I get in to see my doctor and keep things low-key. When I got in with my doctor, she agreed, but recommended I get a full first-trimester ultrasound. So up to the hospital again I went. Again, the baby looked just great. However, the technician said she saw some stuff around my ovaries that looked "pretty funky." Those were definitely the most comforting words I've ever heard from a health professional....
Shortly thereafter she left the room, and then in came a doctor to tell me I had a rather large cyst on one ovary and a couple little ones on the other. They're what's called Dermoids, and apparently they're not that uncommon. However, they recommend having them removed laporoscopically once I'm in my 2nd trimester.
Lucky me huh? I guess the bleeding was a blessing in disguise. If I hadn't bled, I never would have ended up getting the ultrasound, and they probably wouldn't have found them at least until it was too late to do the surgery during pregnancy.
So, to make a long story short, I'm scheduled for surgery on August 6th....9 days before our big move. Oh, and did I mention these Dermoid things are probably the grossest thing you could imagine finding growing inside your body. They're big balls of hair, and other body parts (like teeth and eyes) - GROSS!
