Plans, Pains, and Pooped

This week has certainly been a change of pace with my return to school. My classes seem easy enough though, which is a welcome change as well. I have a statistics class for my major which focuses a lot on simple surveys and studies. Most of it should be a review from the statistics class I took in high school. My other two real classes are Development in Infancy and Childhood, and Family Studies. I also have advanced golf because I needed one more credit to be full-time.
We've had a challenge this week planning out our trip to Baltimore next week. It's hard to figure the logistics of covering all of our areas and see not only the people but also the places we want in only 8 days. (Plus I couldn't help squeezing in a Red Sox game at Camden Yards!) After many phone calls and e-mails, a relatively simple and yet impressive plan is taking shape. To this point, it looks like we'll be able to see everyone we wanted to and have a lot of fun. I hope the trip turns out to be all that we hope for.
As for fun this week, we had to wait for Saturday, but it was worth the wait. I got to start out with 18 holes of golf with my Dad up in Bountiful at Lakeside G.C. Then atec and I went out to lunch with my mission trainer - Mike Oaks and his wife April. Then we took Holly's kids Scott and Ali up to Lagoon. It was a blast, though I must admit I got tired after all that walking. Apparently the kids did too! We didn't wait to ride Wicked... the line was almost always at least an hour and a half long. We'll catch it next year. We did hit nearly everything else, including atec's favorite, Jet Star (II). My only regret was skipping the bumper cars.
Who knows when you'll hear from us again, since we'll be gone next Sunday. We'll probably find a computer somewhere to do something small at least!

The Big Announcement

As shocking as it is for all of you to be hearing this sooner than expected.......atec is........well, only a spirit. We found out this week that she doesn't actually have a body. How come nobody told pmc that something was funky with him when he kept bringing home this "girl" and then "married her?" Maybe somebody should've told him that he can "see dead people!"

Okay, so honestly for F.H.E. this past week we had a lesson on family history, and for an activity went up to the "H rock" to look at this beautiful valley that has so much to do with our family history. When we took a picture we were rather surprised at the outcome, so then we tried one with the "night setting" turned off......we like atec's solid look there a little better!

We also went stargazing on the tramp in the backyard one night, and decided to spend the night there....and though atec assured pmc that the sprinklers only come on every 3 days, she was the first to jump up and run inside with her sleeping bag at 6:00 am when she heard the familiar
"ch ch ch ch chssssssssssssssssssss."

Pmc and his brother Steve got a chance to play Tennis together one morning, probably thinking it might be one of few chances left before Steve leaves on his mission to Uruguay.

One of atec's favorite chamber groups, Time for Three, was in town this week. Even though her little sister Serenity previously dated one of the member's (Zach), we (unlike her sister Chelsi) didn't get to go to their special fundraiser concert at LaCaille.....it was a mere $300 minimum donation! But don't worry, we're not jealous......

We got to attend their concert up in Park City with Serenity and her friend Kelly (who also previously dated another member, Nick). We thought it was rather entertaining when, in the middle of a goofy piece where Nick and Zach were both playing on one violin at the same time, Nick stuck his tongue out at Kelly with a wink. Anyway, as atec has a fascination with chamber music, we really enjoyed the concert.

Great things don't last :(

Too bad, this will be the last week of summer vacation. And this year, it's not even that I don't want to return to school. I don't mind that... it's paying for it that seemed to come along way too quick. Plus, this means I have to cut back my hours at work down to about 25, so we'll have to make do with less income again. Boy, I'll miss that extra golfing money... I guess that's why I signed up to golf for credit at school!

We've been all over the place this week. I played in 3 softball games, we had a Sterling Furniture Work Party up at Brighton, atec went out with her friend Rachel for some ice cream before Rachel heads east for a master's degree, and then we met up with atec's USU roommates for ice cream too. Add to that a fantastic night of bowling with pmc's high school friends, and life is quite eventful. The best thing though was having pmc's brother's family in from Texas to house hunt for the week. Oh, yeah, and pmc's sister made a surprise visit by helicopter from Vernal for a false alarm. Now she's stuck here until baby-o arrives. Had enough yet?
During the days for work this week atec got to take a vacation to Salt Lake with the family she nannies for. Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday were spent having a blast around the valley. Trip to the Zoo (for 7): $75 ... A day at Raging Waters (for 7): $110 ... An afternoon at Lagoon (for 7): $200 ... Getting Paid to go on Vacation: Priceless!

As if we hadn't already had enough fun, we closed out the week with all 7 of our Sunbeams in primary, so we finally got our picture! It's too bad we didn't get it with the four who've moved away this year. After church, we made homemade pizza and ice cream. I'd say it was a stellar penultimate week of summer!

A Day Late, and an Hour Short

So yes, we are a day late, and it's one in the morning! Truthfully, we don't have much to say for ourselves either.....so we really don't blame you if you decide not to read on....
Atec spent her time "digital scrapbooking" and typing up all sorts of forms for her music studio. Pmc has nothing to say for himself other than work. We did make it do the drive-in theatre though! We saw "The Bourne Ultimatum" and enjoyed it pretty well...though a little disappointed at a drawn-out fight seen, and vain usage of Christ's name. (We even decided to go again tonight, which is why our blog is barely being updated.)
The last of the news is that our official class-size for the Sunbeams has shrunk to 8, which includes the new one we met this Sunday and one who is inactive. We almost got a picture of the full class, but the new child was still pretty nervous and decided he'd rather go see his mommy!
Well, enjoy our succinctness for now and well, That's All Folks!
