Our Mountain Home So Dear

Thank goodness for Memorial Day weekend. It brought a nice day off of work and play practice so that we could relax, and so relax we did! It was up to the Cundick cabin for us. On Saturday pmc had Damn Yankees rehearsal until 3:00, then had to go into work for half an hour at 5:30 to help take down the Memeorial Day Sale display. So we got to the cabin Saturday night, and stayed until Monday evening. It's such a haven for doing nothing, and yet atec still managed to be quite productive, whilst I stayed in neutral the whole time (except for a crossword puzzle... very difficult). She wrote all the rest of our Thank You cards from the wedding. She's great. For those reading this who haven't been to the cabin, we pretty much just eat 2 good meals each day and then spend the rest of the time playing games or sleeping. Some cabin favorites are: Marble game, Ripple, Rook, Tripoley, Dominoes, Canasta, Acquire, and Settlers of Catan/Zarahemla. We hope to share some good times there with ALL of you in the future (Eyre family included!)
Other than that, our week was pretty normal. We missed our Sunbeams this week while we went to the Oakley Ward, but probably most of them were gone as well anyway.

Down at the OzDust

We celebrated Friday on Thursday this week to maximize our weekend vacation time, and we highly recommend it to everyone! After a shorter work-week we caught a morning flight to Denver on Friday. We spent the day wandering around the 16th St. Mall in downtown Denver (aka LoDo). We visited the Molly Brown House (didn't pay the 6.50 each to tour it... cheapskates!). That's where the sweet photo of atec in the black 20's hat is from.
We also got special tickets to go up into the rotunda of the State Capitol building, which was pretty cool. We met up with those who drove later on in the afternoon and then enjoyed dinner at the Traildust Steakhouse - minus the live band we sat directly in front of.
Saturday was fantasticaliciously relaximizing, we went swimming in the morning, then headed for the Wicked matinee, where we sharpened our vocabularisms and enjoyed a visit to the Emerald City ... Though we're not in a hurry to go back after what they did to Elpheba.
After the show we all enjoyed dinner at the Cheesecake Factory. Good stuff! ( pmc recommends the Bleu Cheese Burger!)

And that was about it. We flew back this morning, and made it in time to prepare our lesson and get to church. Highlights from Sunbeams this week... We were pinning pictures of healthy foods up on the tack strip above the chalkboard as we talked about taking care of our bodies. As pmc helped Lily get up high enough to pin her picture up, she knocked the pushpin out of the picture. As she tried to push it back in, we warned her not to push it through because it would poke her finger. Her reply: "It's okay because I'm not bleeding!" They're great... we'll get a picture of us with the Sunbeams up soon.

Finally....SUMMER!

As you may have noticed, there's been quite a space of time between the first and second blogs.....as well as no notice that our blog even exists! Simple explanation: I HATE COLLEGE! Okay, maybe that's a little harsh, but in the prioritizing of time, the blog lost. But atec is now graduated, and pmc can devote some time to "more important things." This means working full-time, and rehearsals for "Damn Yankees." atec has a nanny job for 1-year-old twin girls in Daybreak, and otherwise adjusts to life as a.....well, that's the golden question! Mostly we're just enjoying some time to breathe, enjoy each other, and accomplish tasks that were put on the "after I graduate" list. We've decided to update this every Sunday as a form of 21st-century journal keeping. So look for us next week with our update of a weekend in Denver. It's gonna be "WICKED!"
