If I could have any professional, big expense renovation to my home at this time, it would be to re-do the kitchen. (AND to install an underground pool, surrounded lush and beautiful landscaping.. but I digress.) I have so many inspirational photos of what I would like in the kitchen. I have to have the requisite white cabinets, some marble, some sparkle and shine. As well as modern functionality and tons of storage.
Many of the images that I have in my inspiration files are dupes and a total testament to knowing exactly what I love and want. However, I am floored by a white kitchen that I had recently had the joy to behold.
What a fabulous kitchen! I wish I could remember where I found it.. if it's yours or your know the source, please let me know.
I'm in love it's traditional look with the unexpected twist of the clear glass cabinets. I think it's genius to have glass cabinets along the wall of windows. It looks clean and lets all the beautiful light in. I'm so curious as to what the rest of the kitchen.. or the entire house looks like. I bet it's the bees knees.
I also love that there are no window treatments. I'm a total fan of bare windows, especially in the kitchen, which is probably why I haven't put any up.
When we do get around to remodeling our kitchen, this wall of windows with clear glass cabinets, will be on the list of must haves.

Happy Birthday To Me
I had planned to go to MAC and get my makeup done.. although a former makeup artist... I like to pamper myself from time to time and have someone else do it.
One's face should be fabulously BEAT (done) for one's birthday. |
But I really don't feel like doing much today. I will enjoy the luxury of not having to do anything at all.

Another Sofa
I have been searching high and low for a family room sofa that is comfortable but not too casual and a little more tailored yet stylish. The English Arm sofa fits the bill perfectly.
I will be ordering a custom sofa from The Comfortable Couch Company. I love the fact that this company is located on the East Coast. I wish I had known about them before ordering my living room sofa.
Although, I absolutely LOVE my sofa from Sanctuary Design Studio:
I just can't stomach spending another $600.00 on shipping from California. I could do so much with that money... liking buying a dining room table.
I think I will inquire if CoCoCo can make the daybed that I want for the living room as well:
Gray, Velvet, Tight Back and Bench Seat... perfection! |

Implusive
I had taken my niece to Barnes & Noble's today and while she was perusing the teen novels, I made a bee-line the interior decor section of the bookstore and found this:
This book, New Orleans, New Elegance by Kerri McCaffety, is a collection of stunning photographs of the gorgeous and eclectic interiors of homes and apartments from the French Quarter, the Warehouse District, the Garden District, and the multiple neighborhoods that comprise Uptown.
I was so captivated by the cover, which features my most coveted and elusive piece of furniture, the Ram's Head base dining table, I just had to buy it. I didn't care what was inside. But I must admit during a brief flipping of the pages, I saw tons of beautiful-ness!
I will save diving into the book until the weekend.. to enjoy slowly while I sip some bubbly. Will share a review next week.
Have you bought any decor books lately? Please share, I'd love to have some recommendations.

ZGallerie
We purchased a sofa from ZGallerie for the family room and while very comfy and a great color, it doesn't really work for me. I know we wanted something conducive to the family lounging and TV watching but the sofa is just too casual for me.
I figured we had it for only a week and no one has sat on it because the TV hasn't been hasn't been hung above the fireplace, that I would return it.
ZGallerie was very "Hell to the NO!" about that idea. Actually, their return policy is so ridiculous that we are forced to keep it. They require a 50% of the purchase price restocking fee and another $310.00 for the sofa to be picked up. So, that's about $700.00 to return a sofa that cost us about $1000.00. Say what now?!?!?!
I was steaming and to add insult to injury, the sales rep says, "You have to make a decision right now!". WHAT!?!?!
Great customer service, ZGallerie! *sarcasm*
After I put her on a lengthy hold, my husband and I chatted about it and was basically forced to decide to keep the sofa. We plan to wrap it and place it in the basement and buy yet ANOTHER sofa.
I'm so annoyed with myself for not getting someone on the phone to clarify that return/exchange policy. Based on this experience, I will never, ever purchase anything from ZGallerie. I'm kinda bummed because I really like that store's aesthetic.*sigh*
