In A Vacay State Of Mind

The Hubby and I are waaaaay overdue for a vacation. Life has been going a million miles a minute and we are in desperate need of some R&R. We are planning a birthday (mine) and third anniversary celebratory getaway to Aruba and we can't wait!!

Powdery soft sand, crystal blue waters and rum punch drinks, yes, yes and YES, please!!

Of course, I have to be fab while I lounge poolside, sipping libations and these LaPerla ads have provided perfect style inspiration.

Let's Have Cocktails!

It's gonna be a scorcher in my East Coast neck of the woods today and I plan to laze (is that a word?) around in the shade, thumb through a few neglected glossies and sip cool cocktails.

Frozen Watermelon Margaritas

Ingredients (virgin)

• 2 1/4 cups frozen watermelon cubes
• 1/2+ cup water
• 1 Tbsp maple syrup
• 1 lemon, squeezed
• 1/2 banana
• Small slices of watermelon- with rind on - frozen for garnish (think triangles)

Mine will be virgin but if you wanna liquor it up, add a shot or 2 of tequila.

House Update

Remember my hydrangea and azalea shrub transport early this Spring?

I'm happy to report that all of the transplants survived and they are thriving. Yay!

The azaleas had bloomed and had began to wilt. Boo! I didn't know the azalea flowers wouldn't last. But there were so pretty when they were in their pretty, pink glory.

The hydrangea shrub in the middle is beginning to bloom flowers. So excited! Even though every hydrangea bush I've seen in my neighborhood is in full bloom, I'm patient and thankful the shrubs survived.

The other hydrangea shrubs are full of pretty green leaves and they are blooming pretty lavender, pink and blue flowers.

I took this picture today and I'm just so in love with my flowers. 

 I want hydrangeas everywhere... lining my driveway, around the perimeter of my backyard... just everywhere!!

I wonder how I can get a hydrangea tree, like this one. Is it a trimmed shrub? In any case, I want!

Fuschia Fever

I can't believe I haven't blogged since April 1!! Whaaaaaat!?! Where did the time go?

To tell the truth, I haven't done much of anything socially online in a long while, mostly living life offline and being more "present".

Yet, I still adore my beloved blog and decided to begin posting again.. I'm feeling inspired to work on my house again which led to this post.

Fuschia Fabulousness!

When I saw this photo, I was stopped in my Louboutin tracks! It was a true "aha" moment because although I love(d) my glossy black shelving in my family room, it just wasn't "it". Even my Hubby is all over it, he says that he loves that the room will have a "pop".

The black is cool but the fuschia will be epic!

I'm headed to the hardware store to pick up Benjamin Moore's Mulberry then have my painter friend hook it on up!
