6 months cute!

Our little G is 6 months old!  He seems so big and old until I see someone holding him and then I realize that he is still my little baby!  One of my favorite thing about G is his dimple on the right side of his face.
He is super happy during the day but a bit if a nightmare at night.  We are making progress-any suggestions on babies that wake for no reason and cry and cry?
He loves to eat solid foods, drink from his sippy cup (although I don't know if he is actually getting anything out) roll all over the floor, give hugs and kisses and grab your face if you let him, put anything in his mouth he can find-including you finger (so watch out because those 2 teeth are sharp),being wrapped up tight before he falls asleep, kicking and wiggling, jumping-he loves jumping!, and he loves smiling at anyone around him.
He is often pretty messy while he eats because he is always looking around at H or just all over the place so we have a hard time keeping his little face clean.
He is just our favorite little boy.

VACATION!

On Saturday we got back from a super fun vacation to Vegas and Arizona.  It was our first long car trip with the family-and the first in a long time for me.  The kids did really good.  H is an expert traveler and would sit in the car all day and color, watch movies, take naps, and eat.  She cried when we got home and we told her she had to watch the movie in the house instead of the car.  G is a work in progress but he did really well considering how much time was spent in the car.  Here we are doing what we did for many hours on the trip.  I would rotate between the front and the back depending on if G and H needed me.

First it was a 6 hour trip, with a stop in St. George at the Frost-op drive in, to Las Vegas.  We went with our friends and had so much fun.  An interesting clown made this hat for us on the streets after we enjoyed a delicious buffet dinner.  We actually had 2 buffets in Las Vegas, because you can't go to Vegas and not have a buffet,  and they were both amazing.  Especially the desserts!
Of course we didn't miss a chance to go swimming-twice in Vegas and once in AZ-although the pool in AZ wasn't heated so G and I didn't go in!  G loves the pool and by the end he was splashing and laughing and having the best time.  H is getting better at swimming but we are still working on the getting your face wet part!
It was a long day and H was not exactly in the best of spirits by the end!
Then we drove 8ish hours to AZ-after an hour of traffic at the Hoover Dam and a seriously angry baby in the car.  His screams however lulled H to sleep and she took a great nap.  In AZ we went to the zoo and the botanical gardens which was super fun. Here a butterfly landed on G's hat and stayed there for a surprisingly long time.
It was so much fun to have P with us doing fun things. He hasn't had a spring break since high school so this was a real treat-I guess there is some real positives when your in your school even if you are broke in the meantime!
In the butterfly house, H was given a pamphlet of all the different butterflys and everytime she saw one she would open it up to figure out which kind it was.  We thought it was so cute!
The botanical gardens were full of all different types of arizona plantlife-aka cactus! Thanks S for getting us in free and spending the day with us.
Baby G was all smiles at the Zoo and although he may not have really known where he was he had fun anyway!
H had so much fun with her aunt and uncle-and their dog too!  She loves them and thanks for letting us come and stay.
After a few more visits with wonderful people and so many memories later we headed home.  We stopped at the Hoover Dam so I could feed G and P and H went and walked around.  Here is at this neat place.  Then another 6 hours to St. George where we stayed with my Grandma and 4 more hours home.
Thanks to everyone who we saw and talked to on our vacation.  We are exhausted but at least we know that the trip out East in 2 months should be fun and we have some tricks under our belt now to be ready for it!

Goodbye Arizona-until next years spring break!

Funny Girl

So I always forget the funny things H says but here is a few funny ones:
H was describing the feelings she was looking at in one of her books and said:
"this one is when I feel sad, and this one is when I felt happy, and this one is when I felt bummered..."  I didn't realize bummered was a feeling but it should be.

During her lunch prayer she said," Heavenly Father, please bless me to do anything I want to..."  I hope that one doesn't come too soon for her!

3 year olds are so funny.

Family News!!

I don't need to tell anyone that the economy is struggling and therefore it is hard to find jobs these days.  Luckily, P is in school and we don't have to worry about that for a little while, however it is imperitive that he find a law experience so that he can have something to show for himself next year.  Sadly, it seems to be more about who you know a lot of times then who you are.  Back in December he looked up all the firms in the country with technical business (this is called Intellectual Property Law, or IP) and sent his resume to all of them he could find.   Mostly in the West but a few out east.  He got several interviews, hooray, and several rejections, sigh...  We started to get a little concerned that we wouldn't find anything, when he got a phone interview with a firm that just happened to be back in NY where we used to live-this was one of the random places he chose to apply for even though he knew nothing about it.  Come to find out the guy that is the partner at the firm graduated from BYU and is member of our church!  What luck, or inspiration.  And after his Utah interviews fell threw we were pretty bummed, when got the blessed phone call that he could have a summer internship back in NY!  Crazy huh?  We will be returning back to the exact area that we lived before- for 8-9 weeks this summer.  Then of course, back to school here, but we are excited to see all our friends in NY, playgroups, church friends, and do all the things we didn't get to do while we were there, and many that we want to do again.  So gear up all you New Yorkers, we're coming back and this time we're bringing our crazy cute little 3 1/2 year old and an adorable little boy!  Make plans for us because we want to see you all and don't have that much time.  Also, we will be looking for a place to rent for the three months we are there so if you know of anywhere that is affordable let us know-please!  We always knew that our time in NY was meant for us and now we know that it also would help in paving the way for our future.  We are truly blessed to get this job and to get to go back to so many wonderful people.
