Stuff Including a Wedding and a Birth

The usual round of walks and dinners was made more than exciting by the Hansen and Sophie Ringer wedding and by the birth of lucky #13 grandchild.

The Fossums home teach Stephen and Ann, Kris and Ann visiting
teach Pam, so dinner out was a great way to kill
several birds with one stone

 Sunrise over Timp

The best part of IKEA shopping is lunch

 Sunrise over Squaw Peak

Good fish and chips in Pleasant Grove

 The redo is coming along

Face to face with BYU Bambi

The last few Heritage Halls are going

Final Sunday dinner with Chelsea before she heads back to LA

It has been great to see her this summer

 Hansen and Sophie's wedding dinner

 Michelle and the Colvers

 Dinner hosts

We were seated at the grandparents' table

 Jeff pays tribute

Some of the HDT Jr. clan

Lots of good catching up with the Bartons

 Family

Even the slight slope doesn't account for this

The HDT children who attended: Brad, Niole, George, Amy, and Brigham

 Sophie and Hansen

 The handsome couple

 M&M

 Gone

A bit sad for me: thousands of mature trees and some good
mid-century modern architecture demolished

Does anybody else still pick up pennies? This doesn't include
the one I found this morning

Luthien and Beren taking care of Katy Kathryn as she started labor

 The labor was fruitful

 Evelyn Alta Colver

Mother and child

Lots of reasons to be joyful, but that's all for now.

July to August 2015

The months slip by like sand in an hourglass. Summer will soon be over. The routine is, well, routine: morning walks, cousins' breakfasts, shopping, cooking, and couple of events for variety. Katy and Daniel hosted a family dinner in July and Hank and Colette had the family at their cabin for supper and story telling. At the beginning of August, we enjoyed the Hale-Center matinee production of Into the Woods, before joining Emily and Family for her birthday dinner at Asahi sushi in way-north Orem. On the evening of the 2nd, her actual birthday, we gathered at the Ensigns for cake (actually a fruit tart) and ice cream.  There was one more trip to the canyon for lunch at H&C's cabin with Jim Welch, a friend from my Portuguese LTM days. AND I actually started writing my history.

 Almost dawn in Provo

 Dramatic clouds over Rock Canyon

We burned through season six in no time

A summer visit from the NC Taylors

 Provo graffiti

Beautiful view of Timp from Rock Canyon Park

Obviously, Sunday is the best day to hike Rock Canyon in Mormonland

Olaf Salad and watermelon at the Colvers

A few laps at the Smith Fieldhouse makes a change

Colette always serves a good meal

 Binkers and Meags

It's fun to eat at the cabin

 Dessert time

The tabernacle restoration is looking complete

Nice view from the NuSkin Pavillion

Downtown Provo looks good in the early light

 Traditional monthly breakfast in SLC

The train ride home to Provo

Early dawn moonset from Rock Canyon Park

Jim (my missionary/student at the LTM) and Deanne Welch

This is the third time we've seen Into the Woods and we loved it

 Sushi for Emily's birthday

 Another morning walk downtown

 The birthday girl

Some of the troops at the party

 A beautiful rainy morning walk

Striking late-summer color palette on Taylor Hill

Another heavenly rainy morning

That pretty much catches us up and is all for now.
