Hey!! This is the Non-official 2nd SL camp. The official one was in 2003. Not that good. But this one rocks. Basically cause there's no need to be disciplined and no teachers!!! YAY!! Only that Elton KBB dropped by on the 2nd night to open the campfire. Sort of. =]
Very Day 1: Arrived at alex's house at 2pm. Unfortunately, we had to move everything downstairs with this horrid stucked lift dammned thing. And guess what? We waited 3 hours for the lorry. stupid old lorry to fetch us there. hahaha. 3 hours, walked up and down, sat at the pickuppoint. played volleyball. played at the kiddy playground. Finally, it came. Threw everything up the lorry and hopped on. WOW!! COOOL!!! THE WIND!!! Esp, blew past so fast, it was sooo windy on top of the open-air lorry. WOW. First time man, and lie down can see the sky. But no, just played and hit people on the lorry, all the way to Changi. Windy~. Arrived. Unloaded. Searched for perfect campsite. Move things up and down 1 km for every trip taken. We took about 5 kms. Cause we walked back to the central area 5 times and our campsite was at the very very very end. To and fro once, 1km. =]. Done. Tired. Boys pitched tent. Girls and Sissys make food for BBQ and laze around. 8pm started small fire. And everyone was so depressed cause we guessed things could only be set up by midnight. LOL!! Fortunately great fire came up by 9pm and we started bbqing. Then Thongdee accidentally kicked the BBQ pit (as it was already rather shakey on its useless 4 legs) CRASH! It went, down, down, down. The floor was on fire and the fan used to simmering the heat was burnt with a big hole. 10 otahs and 15 satays were on the floor, -gone-. Later, we just decided to have a shift here and there and settled the metal pit on the floor. So we sat down to bbq. Haha. Those useless legs. throw them away. YA. so all the way to the 11.15pm we bbq-ed. They were Chicken Wings, Sausages, Spicy Squid, Stingray, Satays, Otahs, Corns, Potatoes, Eggs, Crabmeats, blahblahblah. Yea. Everything was fine.. Full. Went to toilet in 10s to bathe. For safety reasons. Don't ask why. THE TOILET SUCKs. AS EVER. Sandy, Yucky, eeeeekss. Yea, I was lucky, first one to get in and go out. -phew- Later, back to the campsite. It was the boys turn to bath, our turn to continue eating. We just made sum disgusting cracked and boiled bbq egg with light soya sauce. HAHAA. Ok lar, great invention. So the day was gone when we finally packed up and settled down in the bumpy tent, supposedly 7 or 8 to one tent, ended up only 4 in a tent. SHIOK. The boys slept on the five-foot pathway. HAHA. Others slept on the beach and on the grass outside the tent. Hehehee. thanks.
Very Day 2 : Morning... I was the very first to rise. Basically cause the tent was beyond cure of humidity. WARM. And another thing was alex had not slept for the night he had been shifting things and preparing stove for the next morning and also breakfast. So he did not sleep at all. I was made to wake up by the noise and because it was so hot inside the tent, to think those 3 girls can sleep so soundly. LOL. Jialing the pig was the first to sleep in the tent and she's sleeptalking. Worse it yet to be heard. LOL. But i shan't say la. LOL. Kk.. So i sat on the bench to sleep. Much more cooler. VERY. While the others were still awaiting sunrise at the beach, (which was the whole stretch of view from our perfect camp area) (cause our tent was just pitched on foot away from the beach) hahaha. COOL RITE? Yea. The boys still asleep on the pathway, by the time there were already people jogging and cycling, haha, they could have vomitted if any of the cyclers or joggers stepped on them. LOL. I'm being stupid. hahaha!! k. 1 hour later, the girls were all awake, so they had to make bread for breakfast and make milo/cereal for us. While others get to laze around la, cause I started the fire so that was my job for the day. LOL. When everyone was awake, ate, nothing to do. Around 8am, we started to cook lunch, Porridge. (which will be described l8er). Yea. So, 10 am or so, if i have good memory, the games started. All basically teamwork games. Haha. K. 7 per group. Fun, fun ,fun. We had this unforgettable -passthewater- game. And unfortunately, i stupidly lined up behind jialing cause we were the bestoffriendscampers there. HAHA. She was laughing and passing water to me, and then 3 full cups spilled all over my face. Damn her. HAHAH. We were laughing in the end. Very funny. 11+, we had lunch, the really big and thick bowl of porridge which i believe half the campers threw 1/2-3/4 bowls away. Alot. It was thick, some were uncooked, the meat was rather raw, it was bland and we had to eat and pour soya sauce into it. HAHA. But still we appreciate it alot plus the hardowrk of our very own camp leader alex. Who skipped his sleep and slogged like a slave to have everything done. So, we just ate and gave stupid looks and did not complain while eating. =] Finished lunch. AMAZING RACE began, and I shall tell you how AMAZING, Absolutely AMAZING it was. First we sat down to listen to this "naggy-old briefing", collected our survival kits which poor me had to carry 12 packets of MAMEE in my bag cause i was the only one who had a bag. Lol. But nvm. JL carried 2 bottles of water. Poor her. All set of to toilet before the 4 hour race began, =]. Teckwei our appointed leader, and Siewhuai the other team leader. This couple was meant to be splitted up. LOL. So we set off happily from our campsite, the leading team to go off first. Walk walk walk walk walk walk walk walk walk walk walk walk walk walk walk walk walk walk walk walk walk was the only word we could think off. Looking down at the ground, which this yellow-bold stripped line says 100m , 200m , 300m , 400m , 500m , 1000m, 1850m, etc etc. HAHA. Until we finally crossed the other part of the camparea, crossed the long stretch of fishing beach, crossed the SAF training ground, crossed 5 bus stops, crossed the SIA building, crossed Coconut grove, and then campsite 3. Which was by then 2500m= 2.5km. =]. Yea. Reached the first clue ground, then we could not find anything and continued to walk the rest of 50m, reaching 3km. Which was the end and it stated " Changi Ferry Terminal" with a North Arrow Bearing pointing "Johor Straits!" WTH!! Wah, still couldn't find anyclue, walked back tothe first clue ground back and forth for 3 times in total at leat an extra 3km. Dammit. We were already dead tired by then, could not catch up anymore, neverhteless we did not stop to rest and unfortunately we saw the other team heading to our direction. HAHA. As usual, we lied to each other that we found our clues and are moving on the the next already. Our team already moved 6km, and walked for 3 hours, demoralised, could not move on any further. End up having no choice but to call Alex and Caiqizhi to ask. In all, we discovered that our clue has long been stolen by others and it gone. WTF. We walked extra 3 hours and 3km to find NOTHING?!! Wow, tell you we were damned angry, demanded for the next clue and moved on, from then things were much better yeah? We headed forward and continued to find our second clue. Group members were just pulling my bag to get MAMEE and eat. HAHA. We drank almost 8 litres of water for the 3 hours plus race. "AMAZING" indeed. From then on 2-4th clue was a smooth one, found the clues and bingo-ed all the way. The last clue was an interesting one. It was adding of millions of numbers and finally it came out 294456731273 blahblahblah. And the clue was "round it off to the nearest unit", no one knew what the hell it was, someone even wsuggested it was car-plate number. Then something came, I suddenly said " AH!!! I KNOW!!" I remembered, perhaps it could be the markings on the floor, 300M. Just look at the number given, round off and it gives u 300. WOW. HAHA. Brilliant! Basically, I was complaining to myself all the while thru this almost reaching 8km walk. So, the marking 300M on the floor strucked me. HAHA. 300M was exactly near our starting point (our campsite) cause the first clue was at the end of changi, and2nd clue onwards,it was leading us back, so my 300M brilliant idea cheered the members up. They were so into believing me but I was worried I could be wrong. HAHA. NEVERTHELESS, we knew we were winning the race, but didn't stop at all to rest, we kept on going until we saw 300M marking, relieved. Untied this weird string on the lamppost, which we thought was the KEY to winning. We ran back. HAHA. Indeed 300m was rite. But the blue string we untied was wrong. It was a green string, so TW and MS ran back to get the string. HAHA. YAY!!! WE WON!! WE WON!!! 9km of walk!! WE WON!! DAMMIT! AHAHA. 4 straight hours of walking without stopping, -icannotimagine- never had it happened. LOL!!! We defeated the other team by loads, we walked to bath (about another 2km) because the nearest 1km toilet was filled. Then we decided to turn back cause the 2nd toilet was like another few kms to go. So, DAMN TIRED. My legs have not been this tired all my life. Headed back another 2km. This time we met the other team. HAHA!! We had already ended the race like 1 hour ago and they return only now, worse, telling us they could not find a single clue?? LOL!! Biggest Joke. HAHA. k lah. After Bath, all changed into SL shirt. Set up fire, planks and food for BBQ in the night again. Same usual task assigned to people. BBQed halfway and the campfire started cause KBB arrived. Yup. Sang songs, Jumped around, Played idiotic pranks, HulaDame And Cannibal King thing, we paired people up. LOL!!! Only Me, Maiosia never kena. Lol. 7 girls, only we two escaped. -phew-. LOL!! Yea, the thing ended quickly, althou it was very very fun, but good things have to come to an end. Sang Auld Lang Syne/If we hold on together/blahblahblah. =] 3 poeple had to leaving, including Caiqizhi (camp leader), and we continued bbqing till wee hours of morning. 4am. They promised not to sleep but slept, leaving me alone. Poor thing. HAHA. Sobsob. Also quite happy lah. finally got peace. HAHAA!! Erm, talked to kokyong on Ms's free phone for almost 1 hour, nothing to do. Bored. Basically about EURO2004, UEFA. The pubs opp were like "GOAL!!" "Ohhhhh..." and stuff, but those people were still pigsss. HAHA. Later 4.30 or so, I went to sleep. Buaytahan also. HAH. Next morning 6.30 am woke up. Miraculously saw the sunrise that morning. =] Woke everyone up, and we started feeding on junk food after brushing our teeth at the beach. OH! did I mention. about the damned cursed 20cent toilet??? Damit. I think they earned about 30 bucks from us in 2 and a half days. 20cents per entry. We only sneaked in the 2nd night without having to pay lor. HAHA! First night, midnight this guy was still onguard. Collecting money. -diao- HAHA. Erm yea. =].
Very Day 3: YAY!! last day. Sad thou. YEA. As continued from above. 6.30 am wake up call, skipped 2 days of PT cause everyone was too tired ans busy. So, we just prepared and ran off to Pulau ubin Jetty to send EL off for thier excursion which I didn't go. =[. YEA. Poor idiotic chester, he just gave out the cards and we all ran off. HAHA. Althou I was the only EL member there, Jialing wanted to follow me, Jiayu also. Then later the others wanted to go over to eat breakfast. An hour later or so, me and JL ran back to play UNO with the onlylonely. Lol.. And the others bought breakfast for us while a few joined in to play cards and more. HAHA. Later when the food arrived, all campers were already "gambling" La on this green ncc -waterproofcloth- =] played the hammock which all victims fell except chester and me. Cause we rocked the people down to the floor. HAHA. Actually wanted to gang up to saboh him also, but then..muahaha. =] yea. played thru the day and waved to the ELDDA ferry that passed by the campsite. (as i mentioned earlier, its just one foot away from the beach) =] yeah. 1pm, packed up and washed up. Preparing to go home. Oh yeah. This journey home was a funny one. instead of the opened air lorry, it was a coldstorage kind of truck. Lucky we could have one door open to BREATHE. HAHA. Yea. All went back to school. Oh yea. We were dehydrating like shit, for that entire morning there were totally no drinks!!! the 24 bottles of 2 litre water was finished by the 2nd day. Thirsty like sh*t. =] So, back at school, drank like freeflow from water cooler, alot alot alot. And at TBP for lunch, spend all money on water then food. HAHA. see? thirst definitely beats hunger. sigh. Learned from it, maybe we should bring 48 bottles the next time we go on SL camp again. HAHAHA. And hope we could go back to that nice place where we can see sunset and sunrise and all Campers can enjoy and bbq till morning. SL ROCKSSS!!!
