haha... crappy weekend!

The place where I spent my weekend - Labrador Adventure Campsite =)

It was one of the more pleasant camps that I had.
Espcially the facilitating aspect.
I didn't have any specific group to be in charge of and our main job scope was to be station masters and facilitate the leadership games.

The ITE kids were a rather fun bunch because they were constantly on a high!!
I was impressed with the way they kept motivating each other and encouraging their friends on.
Game after game, they never failed to 'wow' me with their team spirit.

Pictures below show how the coaches spent their free time. Hahahahahahahahahah....
That's Wanie as a chambermaid. Teehee.. *potential*
Syirin Wanie and I from the upper deck of the bed. OMG... I had a hard time coming down from the bed... Felt rather suaku because I've never ever had a double decker bed before. Lol.
Ben acting shy, as usual.

Syirin brought her dear giraffe along... she calls it GEOFFREY.
We decided to call it Tinkerbell after the skit that we did.
Friday night was great because we had Macs for supper.
However, MACS TRAUMATISED THE COACHES on saturday night because the students decided to place their orders. They came in different batches and the coaches waited for almost 3 straight hours at the gate for the macdonalds. =X
It was THAT BAD.

There was a game called MURDER MAYHEM where the kids were suppose to go around stations to play games and receive clues to solve the murder mystery.
It was this whole story about how Paris Hilton wanted to run for Presidency against George Bush and Britney was totally against the idea. They ended up in a bitch fight. Haha.
Britney was caught having an affair with Jackie Chan and Paris found out that Justin Timberlake was GAY. LOL!! Britney and Jackie tried to kill Paris.
George Bush killed Paris in the end with a SHOWER HEAD. Hahahahahaah...
The coaches came up with a skit to explain the whole story...

Paris Hilton : Ben (that's him below with his OUTRAGEOUS PARIS H. OUTFIT)
Britney : Lydia (HOT LA!)
Jackie Chan : Yogi
Justin Timberlake: Jeff
George Bush : Me Myself and I
Madonna: Wanie

We managed to catch some sleep here and there especially when there was some free time in between. The aircon room was way cool!!! =P

Everyone except Wanie, Ben and myself slept like a dead log on Sunday morning.
The three of us decided to come up with different ways to 'murder' our very own Indian friend!
WAHAHAHAHAHAHHA!!

Okay! Time to get some rest. Had a long day today in Sheares.
Went for the Pre-Swoc event called SHY.
Met many new freshies and I think our blk's freshies look fun!! yay!!!
Shall blog about it soon!!

NITE!!

LOVE MY SATURDAY!

Happy 21st Birthday Shalon! =)
Weiyen and I went shopping at PS just before the party to get Shalon's present.
We decided to make a personalised 'bear' for Shalon and dressed the monkey up as a surgeon because Shalon's gonna be a nurse. Slight Link. Haha.
It was total fun creating the monkey because we got to pick the coat, the accessories etc...
The fun part was when we could dress the monkey and create it's birth certificate. heehee..
There was this part where I had to grab a heart, rub it to give it warmth, close my eyes and make a wish and there the heart went into the monkey and it was sewn up.
AWW... so sweet~
We named the monkey SHALONIAN because it was a convenient combination of SHALON and IAN. Haha.. makes the monkey sound like some identity thingy.. like TJCian... RAFFLESian... haha..

Wanted to get Shalon a crocodile because Ian said that's her favourite animal.
I called Ian to ask what animal she liked before hand and he said 'crocodile'.
Shalon asked him why he said 'crocodile' over the phone.
Poor ian had to come up with the lamest excuse possible and answered her
'oh.. yongernn asked whats ER4 YU2 in English...'

(omg ian... to think you could come up with something so lame! but it was all because the party was a surprise for shalon and he didnt want her to suspect anything. haha)

Headed over to Giraffe after getting her present. Met the rest of the Camp Ha instructors there.
And florence was in a dress!! yay!! =P

All those who turned up for the dinner =)
Met many new faces. Have been hearing about them during camps but it was the first time I met most of them yesterday. Fun bunch!

Shalon's birhthday 'cake' was so unique and pretty!

I loved the cuppy cakes especially the colour and the flavour...
PASSION FRUIT!! MY FAVOURITE!!! =P

Shalon received some pretty undies from La Senza and she was made to wear it for Ian! MUAHAHA!! it was hilarious!!! Everyone just died laughing. Ian was such a sport! =P And there you have two retards trying to act seductive in front of the giraffes. HAHA...

ANYWAY, HAPPY BIRTHDAY AUNTY SHALON!! =)
MAY ALL YOUR DREAMS COME TRUE!!
It was already 11pm when I arrived at TABLE 108 at CHIJMES to meet XMEN.
Joyce will be leaving for Bio Valley and we just wanted to have a nice and cosy chill out session before this darling of mine departs for ONE FULL YEAR!! argh! I'm so gonna miss this ally of mine! =( one year without her... bleph...

Bought ally this pretty notebook with ballet shoes in the front.
Knew she'd like it! =)
and she went 'oooo.. there's a magnet...' in her most bimbotic way. haha. TYPICAL.
Uncle Jo surprised us with presents and he made the girls so happy! LOL.
He carved out our names on wood! =) SO SWEET LA!!!
*effort*
Ken came empty handed with NOTHING FOR THE GIRLS!!!
He scolded uncle and asked him why he didnt tell him he was bringing stuff for us.
HAHA.. SORRY LA KEN... IT'S ALL ABOUT WHETHER YOU HAVE THE HEART. LOL.

One pretty pic without Keith Tan because he was happily attending Cao Ge's concert. Boo!
Hope he turns up at the airport tonight to send joyce off.

And YES!!! FINALLY!! I got my SUPER BELATED BIRTHDAY PRESENT!! Haha.. loved it! Joyce, love you! =P

The pictures were all in a pretty notebook from PRINTS =)
With messages from each of my darlings =P
SO SWEET!!

HAPPY SATURDAY FOR ME!! *('',)*

End of Summer 08

Waking up to the Jonas Brother's posters (they belong to my sis btw) on the wall tells me I'm home and that Summer Camp 08 has officially come to an end.

This also means that some of my foreign campers like Andrew, Poon and Thoei have already reached Penang and Thailand. The act of adding me onto their msn contact makes me relieved as it means that they're back home safely =)

Officially having Post-Summer-Camp BLUES...
Summer Camp 08 was a blessing from God.
Jeff called me a couple of weeks ago asking me if I was available to be one of the coaches for Summer Camp 08 and I gladly took it up. Missed the one last year because of CAC camp and I told myself that I wasn't gonna give it another miss.
I don't know why but this is the first camp (out of the millions of camps that I have done) that has left me with BLUES... The is also the first camp that made me tear because I was going to miss all the campers that I met during the past one week.

I was in charge of Group 6.
Nearly the BEST and MOST DISCIPLINED group in the camp.
There was never a time when I had to raise my voice to instruct them.
They always had the initiative to do things which really touched my heart.
Both the foreign kids and the locals were really angels.

I remembered Day 1 when they were still strangers to each other, where there were language barriers and thus kept hanging around with the campers from their own countries.
It was total transformation within the next 2 days because they were seen teasing each other and assisting each other in the activities that were being carried out. It really warmed my heart to see them mingling so well with each other =)

Day 1 was spent in Nanhua High with the opening ceremony bla bla bla...
The highlight of the day was the Songs of the Sea at Sentosa! woots!!
The kids had total fun snapping pictures and it was the first time I got the Thai kids to say GOOD. haha.. cute.
Day 2 was a tour around Singapore on the Hippo Bus and we stopped by places like Little India, Kampong Glam, Chinatown and Botanic Gardens where the campers were able to have some first hand experience of the local cultures in Singapore. They did Malay dances, tried the Indian sweets and visited temples here and there.

They were given 4 hours of free time to shop around Orchard in the evening and I'm sure they had a blast!!! You should have seen how awake they were when we arrived at Orchard Road despite them dozing off soundly in the bus. Lol.

Day 3 - we brought the kids to the HDB HUB for them to view the showroom flats, ranging from 2-room to 5-room flats. Don't know if it impacted them but at least they had a feel of the local housing that was very much representative of Singapore.

This was followed by DRAGON BOAT at KALLNG!!! woots!!
Everyone was so totally looking forward to this. I don't know why but CAMPERS ALWAYS LOVE THE WATER!! haha...
Group 6 came in SECOND in our team race! yay!!!
Although everyone CONKED out on the bus on our way back to Sheares, they were still on a high on our way to Lau Pa Sat for dinner!! woots! Every camper was given $7 for dinner. We bought 1001 types of food for our foreign friends and I could see that they had a great feast tasting all the local delicacies. Everyone ended up cam whoring in the middle of LPS. Lol.. it was hilarious because the coaches were like some SUPERSTARS... haha.. everyone wanted to take photos with us. Lol...

Day 4 was spent in school doing mass dance and Batik Painting. =)

But the highlight had to be the campfire!! woots!!
The kids definitely had a great time that night especially with the 'clubbing' part of the campfire where songs were just being played for everyone to dance to.
haha.. the coaches all came to a conclusion that these kids are all pontential clubbers. Lol...
We had a great time dancing too!! =)

The Closing Ceremony on Day 5 was filled with tears.
It all started when the coaches taught them the friendship song and invitied the Thai kids to come on stage to perform because they had to leave early for their bus ride back to Thailand.

Everyone started crying. Even the MACHO BOYS who were trying to be cool in the camp. Haha.
Everyone was made to walk around the auditorium shaking hands with everyone.

Hugs were exchanged and the kids were crying like mad because we really had no idea when we were able to see our foreign friends again. It was THAT SAD.
eddy, poon (thailand), jeannie (hk), lin fang, chun meng (china), hsieh hui, joie, shermaine, jianjie.
xinghui, rit from thailand, this girl from hk (sorry i dont know your name) and andrew from penang
With the boys from Thailand.
For the first time, I saw Poon sad. The teary-eyed Poon.
Poon's the darling of Group 6.
He's only 12, CUTE and TOTALLY PINCH-ABLE.
Seeing him tear made all of us cry as well.
Summer Camp 08 came to an end even before we knew it.
Sent the foreign kids off on their bus and I couldn't hold back my tears.
Group 6 has got this special place in my heart.
From the cutest boy to almost the most handsome boy in the camp, all of us really had a great time and were sad to leave.
It's okay kids, we'll still keep in contact ya?
There's always msn!!
To: William, Cindy, Chun Meng, Andrew, Jeannie, Poon, Thoei, XingHui, Lin Fang, Joie, Jianjie, Shermaine, Gibson, Yan Ru, Eddy and Hsieh Hui...
It was really a pleasure and a blessing to have met all of you.
Do remember Summer Camp 08 and I am very sure we will be able to meet each other some day!! =)
Remember to study hard and be a good kid ya?
Take care and REMEMBER GROUP 6!!!
Love.

(ya ppl, you and your ways of googling for my blog ah... scary man... instead of sleeping, u guys went to hunt my blog down, spammed my tag board and found a coach look-alike... haiyo! but dont worry, i still love all of you!)

t.i.r.e.d

i feel like as if i've been sleep-walking for the past 3 hours. . . .
AM OFFICIALLY ZOMBIFIED! urgh.

Got back from camp around 8 hours ago, only to find myself badly concussed on the bed for 4 hours. 4 missed calls. Haha. I am usually triggered with the sound of the sms alert but to think that I actually slept through 4 incoming calls. omg. This is the result of 2 hours of sleep for the past two nights. Welcome to camp... ... ... ...

Anyway, did a camp with aitong @ JBAC. =)
Was seriously put to a challenge this time around as my group consisted of rather disobedient kids. They were a rather hard bunch to control and I had a hard time getting their attention.
Thankfully, they kinda got better as the time went by and managed to put up their campfire performance successfully.

oh yes, with special mention to my MIRROR INSTRUCTOR, WEIYEN, for helping me out during the camp =) Thanks for the patience and all.
Instructors of Aitong Primary camp:
With instructor Rod (sounds weird calling him that. haha), Charlene, Ben Ding and Wei Yen.
Rod's got long hands... just like someone... but Rod kept insisting that he wasn't the same. Heh.
And all of us headed down to J8 for lunch.
Red troops! hooray!

I feel like I'm SLEEP-TYPING.
Shall head to bed now and go back for driving lessons after MIA-ing for the longest time. OMG.. to think about it.. No lessons since I went to HK. urgh! Let's hope I still remember how to maneuver the steering wheel. Heehee :)
Alrighty! Looking forward to the bbq this Fri! Yipee!!
