Yes i do realise that this post is ridiculously overdue, so much so that i was even considering whether or not to just forget about it.. But then i really did mean to blog about it, and i enjoyed the entire trip thoroughly, so shall spend some time reminiscing about it ;P
Overall, i thought it was a very well balanced and fruitful trip plus really seeing God's hand of blessings throughout the trip- catching up with family and friends, sight-seeing, shopping, enjoying the typical American food (and portions!), and just generally taking it easy. Highlights? Besides spending time with my dear aunt & uncle and cousins (not only spending time with them but also seeing where they live and enjoying their kind hospitality), here's my list, in no order of preference:
- visiting Lucasfilms studio and having lunch in their staff canteen
- watching Wicked the musical
- clam chowder in a sour-dough bread bowl at Fisherman's Wharf
- taking the tram to Fisherman's Wharf
- strawberry shortcake at The Cheesecake Factory
- going to Muir Woods and finding out that both parking and entry is free on just that one day
- having pancakes at IHOP and Original Pancake House
- visiting Warner Brothers Studio and seeing all the backlots of famous movies and sound studios of TV shows like Chuck
- Legoland California
- spending the day at Sea World with Ian, Carol and Kai
having my uncle's home-made tempura crab
..gee i wonder why so many of the highlights are food-related... :P
And then after that trip, i also made an extra trip to KL and Melacca to attend Yvonne's wedding then have a short family holiday. That was nice too. It was great just hanging out with Carolyn again and watching Jurassic Park on the tv with her.. Plus i finally met a dog i rather like (belonging to Carolyn's aunt ;) Was happy to have been able to attend Yvonne & Raymond's wedding, and so happy for Huiqi & Wesley too, next month!!!
Unfortunately, the effects of all these breaks seem to have abated, so i can't help but look forward to the next break. Well, not long to wait la ;)
