All things considered, our Mueller musical was a resounding success. And it is clear that only God alone deserves all the glory and praise for it, because it really was a task too mammoth for our own amateur undertaking. Truly, all the talents that were involved were given by Him in the first place, and surely the end result was a multiplication of our individual efforts put together.
I think back on Stan's initial apprehensions about having to memorise all the lines, and even up to the end he was rather fearful about the seven-stanza song Like Nothing Before, as he dubbed it. And Angel's first hesitations about her acting ability... Or some of the other cast members.. Surely it was the Lord who acted and sang through them! And even how He guided the band to record the music bit by bit, even though at times it seemed we weren't making much progress at all. Thank God for Simon and the multi-track recording device he bought from the USA, such that we could have studio quality tracks right from our church sanctuary itself! When i listen to the music, i can't help but be quite amazed that God could use me to be part of that endeavour too.
What also impressed me was how the church came together to each do their part in the musical. There was one point when the women were all sewing in the Bethany Room, and the men and some youth were in the basement sawing or painting the set, then someone would come around with home-made green bean soup for tea-time. Certainly this was a whole-church project!
Now it's back to life after the musical and having had our Agapella retreat, wanna also focus on work and the ongoing ministries. I've been learning a lot from our HMDP visiting expert, of which i will share more in another post after i've had the chance to consolidate my thoughts about that.
