Watching Victor/Victoria the other day and then thinking about the overture for our very own A Walk of Faith musical really made me think about all the musicals i love so well.. Went to Youtube to get inspiration and found myself singing along to the music of two of my most beloved musicals of all time – The Sound of Music and My Fair Lady. (The overture for Les Mis is a bit different ‘cos it kinda just goes straight into the Work Song.) But wow, that one piece of music sure is important to get you into the mood and give the audience a preview of what to expect in the show ahead.

I love that feeling..
Sitting in the darkened theatre, waiting in anticipation for the curtains to open and reveal the set, letting the music alone sweep you through highs and lows that you will later experience along with the actors. Of course, the overture would be all the more entertaining if there’s a conductor to watch, waving frantically, pointing to various sections of the orchestra now and then. Sigh, if only we had a live band. But i must say i am very proud of the Mueller band and the hard work they’ve put in so far. As Ron said, they’ve really brought life to what he and Ethie only had in their heads when they wrote the songs. Exciting exciting. Only two more months to go..! ;P

Tonight's gonna be a good night...

Eh, not really anything about tonight la, but that seems to have been kinda the theme song for Club Med Bali. At least, they played it every night!

Yup, we're back from Bali and a totally different colour. Was very red the first few days, starting with my nose, but since have settled into a very dark burnt brown. Very similar to an unappetizing shade of burnt toast :P My colleagues joked that i had come back Indonesian heh. …Guess we really should invest in some sunblock next time round!

Still, on the whole, it was a good trip, experiencing Club Med for the first time and really having a break, not having to worry about work (or Agapella or Mueller) for a few days. The only things we had to think about were what activities to do for that day, which competitions to sign up for, and of course, what food to try from the buffet table ;) Most of the staff were friendly and fun. I enjoyed my aqua aerobics, and learnt to play a totally new sport which i haven’t even heard of before, plus try archery for the first time! (Ya Simin and i were trying to channel Legolas but sorry, cannot make it la :P)

So now, back to work and the “real world” after the surreal holiday experience, getting back into the swing of things and gearing Agapella up for the Christmas season plus Mueller. Which reminds me, Mueller tickets are on sale! Check out http://www.awof-musical.com.sg/ for details!!
