Praise the Lord - Dad went in for his procedure on Thursday instead of waiting for next month (decided to cancel his China trip and have it done earlier on the advice of the church elders). So far there've been no complications, and he was discharged yesterday! Now resting at home. It's quite amazing at the technology nowadays. But also a bit scary how common the need for bypass/stents are - must be all the meat and food we're eating. Which kinda makes me wonder what food is safe to eat, if any. But if course, we still need to eat ;P

On another note, i'm so glad seventh month is finally over.. All that burning really wasn't helping the haze situation either. Glad for an extra day this Monday to rest and catch up on other stuff like the musical!! Praise God for my dear cousin Ethel who's finished writing our very important Finale and theme song, and it's her 21st birthday today so Happy Birthday Ethie!!! =)

Sept updates - looking back and looking forward

Eeks, realise i haven't been very diligent in blogging these few months.. Lots to be busy with, lots to keep praying for.
• Over the past month, we've celebrated our anniversary, and also Stan's birthday. Certainly, these celebrations are good times to look back and give thanks for the Lord's rich blessings so graciously given.
• Then in church, we underwent a period of earnest prayer when a dear leader in the church had a massive stroke and the family had to decide what to do - whether to keep him on life support or not. We know that God can heal even if we take off the life support, so we accepted the fact that He chose to bring this dear follower of Christ home to be with him. I do feel that this man will be greatly missed, as he truly was an Encourager, and to so many people in the church. But what a blessed hope we have that he is now with our Lord in heaven and that we who have the same faith will see him again one day.
• My dad went to hospital for his angiogram on Thursday and will be going for surgery to insert the stent after his next teaching trip in mid-Oct. I'm very encouraged by the prayers and smses of the church, and even as we have done the Bible Study on prayer, may we learn what it means to "remain" in Christ and "practice the presence of God" each day.

• So now, besides conducting auditions for Agapella and waiting on the Lord for our next step in this ministry, the church is also gearing up for the George Mueller musical to be held next Feb. Very exciting, although also rather scary as this is the first time we're doing such a project on such a big scale. All the more reason to rely totally on God instead of on our own wisdom and strength!
• And at work, also trying to do more than "fire-fight" and keep up with all that there is to be done. Sad that one of my dear friends at work is leaving and two others might possibly be going for further studies next year, but wish them the best and glad that they'll still be in Singapore at least!
