On Thursday i happily decided i would prepare a simple dinner, and i had in mind a dish to try out, which i thought would be nice with some chilli. So off i went to the supermarket after work on my way home and looked at the (small) selection of chillis. There was the chilli padi, and the big green or red chillis. Thought chilli padis would be more economical (come in smaller portions, with much more kick!) so chose those. Cutting up the vegetables and removing the seeds of the chilli padi were no problem, or so i thought, until about 15 minutes later when i felt my fingers burning up, turning red and really smarting. The pain didn't seem to go away even after dinner and showering. (Interestingly enough, the warm water or any kind of mild heat made the pain feel much worse!) After that i began to be a little worried. Didn't think it should be treated like a normal burn so went online to check for methods of relief. Of course one of the first pages i checked said "DO NOT TOUCH CHILLI PADI WITH YOUR BARE HANDS!" :S ...And i actually did try rubbing salt over the affected area, and later, dunking my hand in milk (!) The salt didn't seem to work and the milk provided only temporary relief.. Anyway, the pain finally went away after about two hours or so, with help from Criminal Minds which at least took my mind off my fingers :P
Moral of the story: I now know not to touch the inside of the chilli padi with my bare hands! They say one learns better from experience; i figure i could've learnt the same thing if someone had just told me :P
Anyway, now that Agapella's concert is over, doesn't mean that i'm very free... There's lots to do at work and also the church musical. Last night's Bible Study was a great reminder about the danger of busyness to one's spiritual life. Something i know all too well but yet find so difficult to put into practice. The tyranny of the urgent and consequntial sacrifice of the important. Trying not to do that! A bit sad that at work some people are leaving.. But the good news is that our new office space should be ready in September, and that might be the end of our nomadic life, living as squatters trying to find some corner to stay for awhile. Looking forward to that.
Besides keeping overseas friends updated about my news, this page hopes to encourage others along the journey we are all on. Looking back, it is surely testament to God's amazing Grace and Faithfulness. Looking ahead, we press on towards the goal, learning what it means to love each other, and not waste our lives.

Tonight!
We're so excited that today is finally the day of concert! And as Kimberly said, who saw us a few weeks ago and again last night, we've come a long way in our movements and comfort level on stage. Praise God!! If you're coming, do hang around for refreshments and to chat after the concert. See you there tonight or tomorrow =)
