Come celebrate our birthday with us!

We talked about having our very own ticketed concert some time the middle of last year... But then the idea got pushed back and postponed for a variety of reasons. Now it's really happening!! Very exciting, although not much time to prepare. Tickets are on sale! Hope to see you there =)

too busy not to

We're right now in the middle of our training course, which last week was not confirmed happening due to the flu. But i'm glad it has gone on, and i'm really learning a lot from it. Also equally if not more exciting (albeit slightly terrifying!) is the concert planning for Agapella's very first ticketed concert in July! With so much going on, it's good to be reminded in our care-cell about prayer. How easy it is to get swept away by doing and planning and thinking about all these plans and getting caught up (yet again) in myself and my activities and my agenda, and not stop to think whether this is what God wants for me.

Today one of Ave's songs was on my mind - the one where the pre-chorus and chorus say,
More than words, let my life speak.
More than songs, let my soul sing.
Owner of the air that I breathe,
As I inhale each breath, may I exhale Your praise.
Keeper of the time that I loan,
May the seconds, Lord, count for You.
What inspiring words of a prayer to be prayed each day.

Was a whirlwind week of activity in the office last week. Meant to blog about it over the weekend, but guess i was too preoccupied with enjoying my rest from the exciting week ;P Every day there were at least about 7 new emails about the flu and updates and precautions. Earlier in the week we were already warned that we might have to clear out our office to make space for isolation wards. By Wednesday we were supposed to wear masks to see patients, as well as report our temperature twice a day.. On Thursday the directive came to pack up, and on Labour Day Friday we had to go in to completely clear out our stuff.

This week, even more precautions have been put in place, including changing to the more “serious” mask. No fun at all. But guess the whole week (don’t know how long this will last) was indeed a timely reminder of some important Biblical principles:
1) Anything can happen at any time. In the short space of 1 week so much has happened.. Some things happen without much warning, like the return of our Lord!
2) We should be prepared that where we “live” and work is only temporary. This world is not our home so we shouldn’t make ourselves too comfortable – we may be asked to move at any time too!
3) Don’t take anything for granted. Our security and many things we have come to depend on – such as the right to breathe normally without a face mask :s – can only be an illusion.

Really have to take it one day at a time. And also treasure what we have in life.
