First quarter update

Some long overdue photos of catch ups with friends from Uni - in Singapore with Steph during her visit before CNY, taken at the Changi boardwalk, and in HK where we were last weekend :)

I really enjoyed our HK trip. There was lots of good food (so much dim sum until no space for desserts! :P), some sight-seeing done, and chance to catch up with friends. Really don't remember anything from my time there when i was 6 but i'm sure a lot has changed since then anyway. I think i most enjoy the different sorts of transportation available - the old-fashioned tram, the tram up to the peak with its 45 degree angles, and the iconic ferry, which is pretty much used as a bus to get from one island to another. I think Faith lives in a most interesting location on "their own little island" and i do hope to make another trip some day, perhaps to see the Noah's Ark! Also first time i've ever sat on a roller-coaster with Stan... Maybe it is true that not closing one's eyes and screaming makes it less scary ;P

The pics which summarise my experiences: First stop after depositing our bags at the accommodation - Hong Kong Disneyland! My ex-housemate Windy & fellow Spurs fan Neil, at Sam & Esther's home with their cute kids, reuniting over yummy home-cooked Japanese curry, famous local roast meat and very warm fellowship. The tram which cost only HK$2 per trip, and my Sunday breakfast at a local eatery where we had pork chop bun and condensed milk bun,

and Maggi mee!

It's all in the brain

It has been a good 1 1/2 weeks (so far) of respite from the usual caseload, in order to learn much from a visiting pediatric neurologist during this inhouse training period. Of course there were times when my colleagues and i would sort of go "Whaaat??" when the lecture got too medical, but mostly there's been lots of interesting stories and good material to think about and note down for future use. Indeed, it's an exciting time to be at my current workplace, but i also do try to remind myself now and then, not to forget the main purpose of my vocation, and indeed, my life.
