As promised, a bit about what i learnt during the El Shaddai conference...
1) The Bible, and even various parts of it such as the books of Psalms and Job by themselves, is one congruent story of a journey of our relationship with God. It starts off from the Law, and knowing God as our Creator and Judge, but then we grow in our understanding and knowledge and relationship with Him as we move towards a more intimate relationship of knowing Him personally, with the final culmination where He comes again to dwell among us.
2) God wants us to know Him. Not just as a distant all-powerful being, but as a person, and all His many different facets. And that is why He reveals so many names for Himself.
3) I love how Michael Card shared the analogy of God loving each of us the most, just also as each of Michael's four children is his favourite child. How awesome a thought is that!
4) It was real edifying to hear many of Michael Card's songs for the first time, and the story in them, which are taken direct from the Scriptures. Familiar pieces such as El Shaddai were broken down line by line to explain the thought behind.
And so i got his book "The Parable of Joy" which is an exposition on the Gospel of John. Got it autographed too! Oh erm but i can't read what he wrote.. And neither can any of the Agapellians or friends i asked :P A true artist huh ;)
Besides keeping overseas friends updated about my news, this page hopes to encourage others along the journey we are all on. Looking back, it is surely testament to God's amazing Grace and Faithfulness. Looking ahead, we press on towards the goal, learning what it means to love each other, and not waste our lives.

El Shaddai
Am actually too tired to write a comprehensive post.. But just wanted to say that i just attended an amazing El Shaddai conference on worship with guest speaker Michael Card, finished off with a live concert tonight. He is such an amazingly gifted musician, and also a great speaker. Learnt many things from the messages both last night and today and just feel so edified. Now the songs are still running in my head, and so many, if not all, are simply words from the scripture. And i guess like what he said himself, so often we get caught up in the admiration of an impressive talent or gift, but what these humble people want is just to point all the glory and awe back to Jesus. And that is what this conference did for me too. I cannot help but be amazed by the central message - that the God Most High Himself would love me so much and pursue me and want to be known just as He already knows me.
