Dunno why the weeks seem to pass by so quickly nowadays.. Before i know it, it's already Friday and another work-week has ended - one week closer to taking my own cases at the new workplace :P Not that i'm not looking forward to that. In a way i'll be glad to start work proper, and share some of the load my colleagues seem to have. But then again it's quite scary starting to take my own cases 'cos i'm not sure how prepared i am for that! Do need a lot of grace in the learning process. Again, thank God for supportive and encouraging colleagues, many of whom stop to ask how i'm doing and give a word of encouragement.
Meanwhile, we're almost done with ordering the major pieces of furniture for the new place, and renovations are well underway! Now have to coordinate that various deliveries and figure out when's the best time to move everything in, plus haven't really packed my stuff properly yet :S Procrastination is a terrible thing - everything (e.g., blogging, emailing, reading) seems more attractive than sitting down to sort through stuff and put it in boxes :P I should learn from how we teach kids - to set a timeline for how i'm going to do all of this, and do a little bit every two days or so. ...See if i can do some today before the afternoon's session of Berean series.
Besides keeping overseas friends updated about my news, this page hopes to encourage others along the journey we are all on. Looking back, it is surely testament to God's amazing Grace and Faithfulness. Looking ahead, we press on towards the goal, learning what it means to love each other, and not waste our lives.

What's On In April
As you might have deduced, there are many things going on this month. Started my new job on 2 April (a day later than originally planned, thanks to the airport incident, but thank God for kind HR personnel!), and as of yesterday, we are now official owners of a flat in Hougang! So this month, work-wise, i will be undergoing orientation and getting up to speed with the many new things i have to learn in the next few months. Also, we plan to start renovation works on the 14th, and then to move in early-May!
On the workfront, it has been quite exciting to meet the new colleagues and learn (a bit) more about the department. Am especially encouraged by the number of believers in the team, and from yesterday's conversation hearing about how 3 of them have been led so clearly in their career paths all the way. Perhaps not at that time, but definitely on hindsight, they see how the Lord has been opening doors at just the right time and leading them in His loving kindness and wisdom. As i look back on my own journey, i too feel it's quite amazing how the Lord led me from my undergraduate studies to my time at the DAS and then to my graduate studies.. (Although i sometimes tease him about being 'shy', it's really true - perhaps if Stan had said something before i left for Perth, there's a possibility i wouldn't have gone, or at least felt more miserable doing so! ;P) But truly, hearing those testimonies, it's hard not to believe that Someone was overseeing it all!
So.. prayer requests for this month would be my adjustment to the job, for safety during Stan's reservist next week, and for the renovations and move. Yup then, after that, we might be busy inviting people over to the place ;)

Flying through Heathrow T5
Praise God, am back from the UK (albeit about 15 hours later than expected) and i don't think i've ever been so happy to land in Changi. As eventful and roller-coaster-like as the journey home was (which actually started around 9plus am on Sunday, UK time), i think the story is too long to be told in this post, so.. Suffice it to say that i don't think any of us will ever forget when the new Terminal 5 at Heathrow opened. :S And besides learning a few lessons such as never cutting travel time so tight for something as important as starting a new job, the experience also taught me, yet again, more about myself which is not ideal and i do pray will change, with the Lord's help of course, about how i handle stress - which in short, is not very well :P
Thank God for each member of our party of 4 in this journey and for all the 'angels' the Lord sent along the way who helped us reach home! Other than that, it really was quite a good conference i felt, and i'm real glad i got to catch up with Vik over dinner, and i also thank God that my new employers are very understanding, so i start my new job a day later than originally planned. Now quite excited about tomorrow, and my prayer is that i will be able to be used by the Lord in my new position, and glorify Him through it!
