Back from honeymoon

We arrived back in Singapore last night, having had a restful and thoroughly enjoyable 8 days of honeymoon in Brisbane and Sydney :) Oddly enough, the weather was better in Sydney than in Queensland.. It rained almost nonstop when we were in QLD (didn't see any sun in the Sunshine Coast :P) and it was very nice and warm in Sydney! Besides the time spent together and the many surprises (e.g. the lovely chalet Stan booked, hidden away in the rainforest of the hinterland of the Sunshine Coast) and seeing the sights such as the Harbour Bridge and Sydney Opera House, we also got to catch up with family and friends - Uncle Richard & Auntie Molly, Gilly & Boon, Fay, Felicity, Jon & Kamun, Wendy & Weeming, Wayne, Kevin & Caroline, which was really really nice! Oh ya, and ate a lot of good food too :P We will definitely put up some photos of both the wedding and honeymoon soon.. Anyone got any good websites to recommend that we can share photos with friends?

Now it's back to "real life" - besides unpacking from the trip, and then packing to get ready for the move to Braddell, there's tonnes of email to clear, and get re-oriented with what we missed, and then get settled back into daily life. The honeymoon was great.. But in a way, i'm definitely looking forward to this part too =)

First post as Mrs ;D

Hm.. Since Stan managed to post something on his blog on the morning of the wedding (how'd he find the time to do that?! :P), thought i'd write something quick today before we leave for honeymoon tonight.

Despite the heavy rain on Saturday, and the minor glitches such as forgetting this and that and being slightly flustered on Sunday afternoon with seemingly so many things to be done, we really thank God for such a beautiful and memorable start to our married life, with so many friends there to witness and celebrate with us. The helpers did an amazing job, and the important things went as planned! :) Thank you for being a part of our lives and for rejoicing with us! Here are 2 photos before the rest are available online...

by this time next week..

Gee.. i'm wondering if it's normal to have the rest of life come to an almost complete standstill in light of wedding preparations.. Ok maybe not totally, but a lot of the time we spend and our thoughts seem to revolve around the wedding. Several things have been put on hold until "after the wedding". How exciting to be able to celebrate with so many good friends on the day, and have a mini reunions with people. We're really hoping we'll be able to spend some time talking to our friends, especially those we haven't seen regularly, on those 2 days, instead of just rushing round doing things that have less meaning attached ;) If you're reading this and will be at the wedding, please come say hi to me if i don't come to you first!! We covet your prayers for the day - for good weather as people arrive in church, and for the smooth running of the programme, and even for Stan and me as we take our marriage vows for whatever time the Lord gives us together.. Most of all, may God be glorified on the wedding day and through our marriage!

Two weeks to go

Real thankful for the many relatives and friends who have so lovingly offered their help and advice for the wedding. Had our meetings with the church wedding and dinner helpers last week, and even though it does sound like a huge undertaking - (sort of reminds me about the tasks set before the contestants in The Apprentice..) i'm sure Stan and i can rest assured on the day itself that we are in safe hands. Of course, we can plan all we want and do our best to make our guests as comfortable as possible, but ultimately, let's not lose sight of the main thing should anything go wrong! (i have been told by a few different people that something inevitably will go wrong :P)

Collating the rsvps hasn't been the easiest job, and i am a bit sad that a few good friends will not be able to be there (especially the lot from Perth) but real real happy that so many friends can make it, even some from overseas, including some "old friends" from different stages of life! There's still lots to do like print the church wedding programme, settle the table seating arrangements and confirm details, so i'm glad for the upcoming National Day holiday, as well as the extra day off my company has!

..Also better figure out how to upload photos onto a webpage or something for those who can't attend the wedding!
