snapshots

  • Agapella has finished recording 5 (out of about.. 12?) songs, takes up most of our Saturday mornings and Sunday afternoons.. The recording process hasn't been easy, and it's rather slow-going, but by God's grace, we will persevere and have finished recording in a few months. So thankful for the many who have put so much effort into the process, including the sound engineers and advisors :)
  • Among the other wedding preparations, have started last week to look for a bridesmaid dress :) Slightly more things to decide on, like length and colour especially, and Cheryl and i had fun surfing a few websites that actually let you see the different styles and change the colour of the dress you want heh
  • Work-wise, we have a bit of a breather these few weeks because it's exam time, which means that there are fewer kids willing to come for assessment (despite the waiting list for assessment). The work environment remains enjoyable, although we are still learning on the job (definitely me!), and we usually have our moments of stress (some more than others ;P)

Besides the busyness of day-to-day life, still trying to figure out where best to be spending our time, and ensure that each moment is well-spent. It's definitely a constant process of monitoring and evaluating...

Happy May Day! =)

Four months to go..

We completed the last of our marriage preparation classes with Pastor Heng last night. It has been helpful finding out from the Bible God's plan for marriage and guidelines to preserving a marriage, along with learning from the examples of others, as well as discussing certain issues. But like the Christian walk, i think marriage is just like a journey or marathon of sorts- not so much a simple once-off decision to go in the same direction, but really walking together with the other person each step of the way. ...Looking forward to it :)

Thanks, dearest, for the well-taken photos from our recent Perth trip. Check them out below! ;)

Come and see the Passover Lamb

Come and see, come and see,
Come and see the King of love;
See the purple robe and crown of thorns He wears.
Soldiers mock, rulers sneer
As He lifts the cruel cross;
Lone and friendless now, He climbs towards the hill.

Come and weep, come and mourn
For your sin that pierced Him there;
So much deeper than the wounds of thorn and nail.
All our pride, all our greed,
All our fallenness and shame;
And the Lord has laid the punishment on Him.

We worship at Your feet, where wrath and mercy meet,
And a guilty world is washed by love's pure stream.
For us He was made sin- oh, help me take it in.
Deep wounds of love cry out, "Father, forgive."
I worship, I worship the Lamb who was slain.

5 months to go..

Guess wedding preparation is a prime example of the Important/Urgent grid (yes, back to that again! ;P) Many people have asked us how our wedding preps are going, and to tell the truth, after the whirlwind activity following the proposal, and then with preps for engagement, things have died down. Not that there aren't things to do these few months (like scout for wedding rings, discuss about the flowers and church decorations, and wedding cake..), but it's just that it's not yet urgent! And so many other things seem to take precedence, especially work, Agapella's recording, and just the busyness of day-to-day life that is typical Singapore. Stan also is busy with packing, as he and his family move house in a few weeks. I often marvel at people like Tuan who are able to work so efficiently and do 101 things in a day.. But i guess a lot of it is organisation of time, making the most of each moment, and knowing what to spend the time on.
