What's on My iPhone 7

My new iPhone 7 arrived this weekend after being backordered for a few weeks. I had had my iPhone 6 for two years and it had been completely shattered and out of storage for months, needless to say the upgrade was much needed. The new phone has the same dimensions as the 6, so there was no big adjustment there, however I really don't like how they removed the headphone jack. The extra 16GB will be so nice for my pictures, and I am so excited to test out the new camera and up the insta game. As for apps I am definitely a minimalist, however there are a few I seriously could not live without.

Waze // Ever since I started driving this app has been my go-to. I would put it on every time I drove back and forth from the Cape this summer... I knew exactly where I was going but getting traffic notifications and alerts about police that could hep you avoid getting a ticket are always appreciated.

The Weather Channel // I am a weather junkie and the app that comes on iPhones just doesn't cut it. To be quite honest I probably check this app more than social media on somedays, I like to be able to watch the future radar and have detailed reports of the hourly weather especially if there is a possibility that practice would be canceled.

Spotify // I don't even use iTunes/the music app anymore (except for Taylor Swift songs) and I think that paying for Spotify premium is comply worth it.

Starbucks & Dunkin // Where are my fellow caffeine addicts at? If you don't already use these apps I highly recommend downloading them as you can get free drinks/rewards. Recently I have started ordering from the Starbucks app if I am in a rush so that it is ready for me when I get there and can avoid the morning lines.

Quizlet // I have so many vocal quizzes and making actual flashcards is such a waste of paper and so unorganized. Quizlet keeps all of my terms organized and separated by subject so I can go back and study them when it comes time for exams.

Nike+Run Club // There are tons of apps dedicated to running and fitness on the app store, however this is 100% my favorite, tried and true. I have been using the Nike running app throughout all four years of high school and love how it tracks your pace, calories burned, distance, and time. Additionally having a map of all of your runs, and creating challenges with friends makes working out so much better!

What are your favorite apps?

Homecoming Dresses

Julianna and I spent a long time in the mall on saturday and had no luck finding dresses for homecoming, so I have been browsing lots of websites in search of the perfect one. Every year the senior class plans homecoming and this year we have been really up on school spirit and decided to just go with our school colors, red, white, and black. So, all of the girls are going to wear dresses that go with the school colors. Initially I was set on wearing red, however I struggled to find a red dress that I really loved. Since this is my last homecoming dance, I wanted a dress that I was excited about. When I stumbled upon this black dress with the fun criss crossed back I knew it was perfect- plus it's under $35 which was an added bonus! Homecoming is in two weeks, so now I just need to figure out what shoes I am going to wear! What dress are you wearing to your homecoming?

Friday Favorites

We made it through another week! This past week was a busy but good one. On tuesday I set my 5K PR at our cross country meet which was exciting and I am hoping to get it down again before my final season comes to an end in about a month. Also, yesterday all the captains and exec from clubs attended an all day leadership workshop which was so much fun and really brought our class together in a new way. I am looking forward to making senior year as fun as possible with lots of school spirit and fun events! This weekend I am taking the SAT one last time on Saturday (wish me luck) and then am going apple picking with a bunch of my friends on Sunday!

One: Pumpkin Coffee
I am obsessed with Trader Joe's pumpkin coffee and have been drinking it nonstop all week. Since yesterday was National Coffee Day, why not include my current favorite blend!?

Two: Anthropologie
A new Anthopologie just opened up near me and I have been stopping in all the time. I could seriously spend hours wandering around looking at all the cook books, home decor, clothes, and little knickknacks.

Three: Wardrobe Change
This past weekend I packed away all of my summer clothes and officially transitioned my wardrobe to fall. It has been in the 50/60s all week and has been really rainy so it has been nice to be able to start wearing my fall layering pieces. Every season when I switch out my clothes, I make a pile of things I never wore all season/don't like anymore to donate. I ended up giving away a ton of my clothes which will make room for some fun new fall pieces!

September Playlist

Is it just me or did September absolutely fly by? The past week has been overcast, rainy, and chilly (hence the lack of outfit posts) which has had me in the mood for calmer coffee house style playlists compared to what I was listening to over the summer. I am still in the midst of making a new playlist for the fall on Spotify, so to be quite honest basically all of these songs are on my morning playlist that I made over a year ago. No such thing is my all time favorite song and I have been listening to a lot of older John Mayer songs this week on the way to school in the morning and when I have been doing my homework. This playlist is perfect for cozy weekend mornings, studying, and driving around town! What have you had on repeat this month?

Let's Talk Politics

I have never really talked about politics on the blog before, however now that we are officially in the midst of the 2016 election season you can't avoid it. I am not here to share my political views and opinions, nor am I here to sway you one way or another. Whether you're with her or ready to make America great again, I believe that you should be educated on the candidates and hot topics to be discussed before hitting the polls. My 18th birthday is on November 27th, so unfortunately I miss the opportunity to vote in this election by 19 days, however I still want to be informed on the topic.

My mornings have started off with theSkimm for the past three years and they have been doing an amazing job breaking down all of the issues and each of the candidate's plans. Not only do they have an entire section of their site dedicated to the election, but the daily email helps you keep up on all of the current events playing to U.S. foreign and domestic affairs. Politics are always a controversial topic and this year is definitely not an exception, but there is no excuses when it comes to exercising your right to vote this November. Incase you missed the first debate last night, read the recap on today's skim! Will you be voting for the first time in this election?
