Preaching Fourth February 2014 Edition

Elder Adam Martin
Brazil São Paulo Oeste Mission 1-2014
Elder Adam Martin is beginning his last transfer (six week period) as a missionary in the Brazil São Paulo West Mission.  He will most likely finish his mission in the Rochdale area.  He returns home on March 11.  He will speak in Sacrament Meeting the following Sunday (March 16th) in the Plano 4th Ward at 11:00 AM.  He will also be speaking Sunday the 23rd of March in the Wiley Canyon Ward in Santa Clarita (Newhall), California.  A little over a month after he returns, Adam will resume his studies at BYU-Idaho. Adam is having a lot of success in finding, teaching and baptizing people in his area.  A couple who were long time investigators were recently baptized.  He has another two people scheduled for baptism.  In his district a few weeks ago, every area had a baptism.  Adam and his companion always celebrate their baptisms by getting a chocolate stuffed crust pizza.  He will miss those when he returns.  He will miss speaking Portuguese day in and day out.  He will miss the people of Brazil.  He will miss the mission life and doing the Lord's work 24/7, but does admit he is looking forward to getting more sleep.  The mission has been a great experience for Elder Adam Martin

UPDATE:  Elder Adam Martin returned home on his originally scheduled release date of January 29th.  He is having some troubles with his back after lifting a huge chest up multiple flights of stairs.  He is getting the help he needs to feel like his self.  We are looking forward to him speaking in Plano 4th ward sooner than the March 16th date.  We love you Elder Adam and are glad you are home!

Elder Jacob Crandall
Philippines Cebu Mission 1-2014-2016

Sorry to be so late with this.  I have been out of town and was waiting last Friday (pday) to get a note just for this purpose, but it didn’t come.  Jacob is doing great and LOVING the MTC.  He is scheduled to fly to Manilla on Monday Feb 10.  He can’t wait.  They had him teaching or trying to teach in his language the first week in the MTC.  He is very excited about being able to wear sandals (wearing in picture) and Lava lavas on p-days.  Funny boy!!
