BRAZIL SÃO PAULO OESTE MISSION 3-2014
Elder Martin is planning to end his mission with a bang (or
at least a lot of baptisms anyway). His only news this week was of a
baptism. He baptized an elderly woman who came to church just three weeks
ago. He laments that he has only 14 more Saturdays in which to
baptize. Adam writes, "I don't remember telling you that I am
teaching an ex Jehovah´s witness and her son, but both came to church. Thanks
to my anti- Jehovah´s Witness knowledge that I abtained in a year and 8 months,
I managed to show her how the plan of salvation works using the bible. She now
is very interested. Don't worry, I didn't use my knowledge to do a bible bash.
She actually is remarkably receptive. [Two] member referrals that we taught
visited the church on Sunday and liked the meetings." So the work in
Elder Martin's area is going quite well. They do not celebrate
Thanksgiving in Brazil. He shared his Thanksgiving package with his
district. He reports that his companion did not like the Turkey
Jerky. It is the rainy season in Brazil. Recently he and his
companion were unable to leave their apartment due to flooding.
President Del Guerso instructed them to just stay put. Four hours later,
they were finally able to get out and teach. We are pleased with the
reports we get from Elder Martin. He sounds like he is doing very well.
Soon to be Elder Jacob Crandall
