Almost Famous

Every year I resolve to write more on this blog and every year I start off the year pretty well. And then I don't write anything for 3-4 months.

And I'm saddened that there are never enough hours in the day. I try to justify that I'd rather actually spend time with the kids then take time out of my day to write down our adventures. But I really do miss looking back on the crazy things we do every day.

So once again my New Year's Resolution is to write more. Since we're only half way through January I'm off to a pretty typical start!

We've had a spectacular winter. It's almost like we don't live in South Dakota. On Tuesday of this week we had a record breaking 57 degrees. We rode our bicycles in November and December. We've been to the park and gone for walks. We've played outside and have had a wonderful time. It's been a great winter.

Wednesday morning brought a bit of a change. We woke to find the ground covered with an unusual white substance. The kiddos were thrilled naturally. "Momma! It SNOWED!!!"

They were forced to wait until after school and I've never seen them eat lunch so quickly. Snowpants and boots that had been waiting all winter were finally put into use.

After a while Gabe ran into the house, "Momma! Someone wants to take some pictures of us!"

I discovered a photographer from the local paper snapping a few pics of the kids enjoying our first real taste of winter this season.

This first picture was just inside the front page of today's paper and the other two were on their website.
Happy New Year and hopefully you'll see a few more glimpses of our life in 2012.
