We Are Still in America

The German Adventure has not yet begun. We left Lexington, Virginia on June 24th, and are living in Baltimore, Maryland until we leave for Frankfurt on August 31st.

Over the next year we'll chronicle our lives on this web page as much as possible, so that you, our family and friends, will know how we're doing across the pond. But that adventure is coming soon. The big news right now is that the Baby Adventure began in earnest on July 13th. Scroll down for photos. More on the way; stay tuned.

Exactly 12 hours old.

Born Thursday, July 13, 2006; Weight 6 lbs., 2.5 oz., Height 18.5 in.

"Eli" for short. Elias is kind of an unusual name; it's the Greek form of Elijah. According to the Social Security Administration it was the 188th most popular baby name for boys in 2005, although I've never met anyone else named Elias. We just liked it.

This photo was taken in the hospital. That's Jenny's hand.
